Proverbs 2:4 If you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures; (KJV)
Are you in search of wisdom?
There is a character in the movies named Indiana Jones. Though he had a PhD in archaeology and anthropology; he really was a treasure hunter. Nothing would stop him from finding the priceless artifact he was in search of. It did not matter if it might have cost him his life. If you have never seen Raiders of the Lost Ark, you may not be able to relate. There are also people in the Bible called the Bereans:
Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (KJV)
Your search for wisdom has to be just as passionate.
Job 28:20-23 “So where does Wisdom come from? And where does Insight live? It can’t be found by looking, no matter how deep you dig, no matter how high you fly. If you search through the graveyard and question the dead, they say, ‘We’ve only heard rumors of it.’23 God alone knows the way to Wisdom, he knows the exact place to find it.” (MSG)
Your love for God should drive your search.
Jeremiah 29:13 Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (AMP)
His love for you will hold you up, will keep you focused, and will bring hope when the search seems hopeless. What you will find is the Father is wisdom. He is the hidden treasure that will only be revealed to those who are diligent in their search.
Hebrews 11:6 Whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him. (AMP)
The search for wisdom is worth your life because your life is worthless without it.
Please agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response:
Father, I am in search of wisdom. Nothing will stop me. I understand I cannot easily obtain it. I am sorry I thought I could go to bed without it and wake up with it. There was more I had to do in addition to asking You for it. I repent for not pursuing it; thinking growing old is all I needed to do to have it. You have taught me I must search and keep searching. Thank You. I know my search requires sacrifice on my part. It requires my life and I give it to You. In return, I get You, the wisdom I need to live my life pleasing You, and so much more. There is a joy that wells up inside of me because of this truth. There is a peace I get as I worship You that enlightens my understanding. You are the wisdom I seek. I love You…
