Teach My Hands to War

Teach My Hands to War

The purpose of this blog is to help the reader understand that we are already engaged in warfare, whether we fully understand spiritual warfare, have a cursory understanding of spiritual warfare or no understanding at all. The devotional and the blog use the word to equip believers to fight more strategically.

I encourage you to:

  • Read the devotional with an open heart.
  • Meditate on the scripture.
  • Allow the text to help you see the hand of God in and on your life.
  • Take time to evaluate what position you have taken in the battle.
  • Pray.

You can read the blog and share here.

Matrix 2020

I recently watched the Matrix again and I believe the Lord shared some new insights with me because of where I am in my life right now.  God gives each Christian the desire to want increased faith and to want to believe on a Deeper Level.  He has brought us out of the darkness (Matrix) into the light (Outside of the Matrix). We have to understand that the devil is our enemy and is continually setting traps for us (The Agents, sentinels etc.) We must live in a place where we have enough faith to show the world that the devil fears us because we are believers. We know the future. We know how it ends. Because we do, we can show the world that every believer can live without borders and boundaries created when the enemy is in charge. We must walk by faith, so the world sees that with Christ all things are possible.

Mark 9:22-24  If you can do anything, do it. Have a heart and help us!”  23 Jesus said, “If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers. Anything can happen.” 24 No sooner were the words out of his mouth than the father cried, “Then I believe. Help me with my doubts!”

This is the particular scene that stood out for me when I watched this time.

Neo is on top of the roof and he has to jump from one rooftop to the other rooftop. I am not sure what the distance was between the rooftops, but it had to have been a good 20 feet. He stood on the rooftop. Morpheus says to Neo, “you have to free your mind. Then he jumps and makes it. Neo stands there on the roof, bobbing back and forth like a prize fighter ready to jump into the ring. He’s saying, “free my mind, free my mind, free my mind.” Neo didn’t make it. When he asked why he didn’t make the jump, Morpheus told him that he had residual image and that was hindering him. Even though he was no longer in the Matrix, he still saw (thought like) he was. When the Neo went to see the oracle she said, “Sorry kid(..) in the next life maybe.” In the movie it wasn’t until Neo died and was revived when he realized who he was.

I felt this scene was so representative of us as Christians. We have the Bible; we have the Holy Spirit so why don’t we walk in the level of faith available to us. We want to, we quote the scriptures, we Go through our lives just like Neo on the top of that roof. Instead of saying “free my mind”,  we say “I can do all things through Christ”, “I’m the head and not the tail”, “I’m above only and not beneath” , “God is good all the time and all the time God is good”.  But how is that when most of us make the jump, we fail.  How do we have spiritual success like ultimately Neo did?

There are two things that stood out for me, as I was in a place where I had to believe God at a deeper level.

  • I have been changed and transformed by the blood of Jesus, I have to live like it and stop thinking and acting like I used to.
  • I have to die to self, if I am to live in the power Christ bought for me and created me to live in.

If we die to self, we will be made alive in Christ. Walking and reborn again into the person God created us to be. That death to self is an ongoing process, but we have to step into it so we can get the victory that is on the other side.

Don’t make a bad bargain

Genesis 25 : 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright. KJV

Whenever reflecting on this passage, I always thought about Jacob. His deceit, him being a trickster, not caring about his brother. I did not really give a lot of thought to Esau except he was just crazy for exchanging his birthright for food. But today I looked at Esau. Not crazy but contemptible.  He just did not care. There had to be some kind of food in Isaac’s house. What was the deal here? Esau was not about to die. Was his desire for that stew worth his birthright? Amazing what we give away for a moment of satisfaction.  Always keep in mind, don’t make a permanent decision on a temporary problem. Remember who you are and what God has planned for your life.  It may not be here right now, but don’t forfeit God’s plan for some temporary pleasure.

Morning Prayer

This morning in prayer I was impressed in my spirit to say:

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. …

PCQ’s Pam’s Clarifying Questions

Whenever there is something that you’re trying to learn about, usually you can find a section called FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions).

Well I’m also going to have section called PCQ’s (Pam’s clarifying questions.)

These are questions that come into my heart or mind.  Or, they have been there and I just never took the opportunity to ask as it deals with the prophetic.  I will update this list from time to time.

Q1: When God speaks through me will it be vague.  Meaning would anyone who’s hearing the prophesy apply what’s being said to them.
A. The Lord will reveal specifically.  As God uses me, the prophecy will not be vague.  What God will speak through me will be clear and specific, even if it is for a group.

Q2: How will I know or be sure that it is God?
A. I will know and see evidence of His intervention and desire.

Q3: Help me to understand sin?

Psalm 32:5 – Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
5 I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the Lord [continually unfolding the past till all is told]—then You [instantly] forgave me the guilt and iniquity of my sin. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

  1. Transgression
Transgression is a deliberate action that breaks and/or infringes upon a direct command. To choose to intentionally.
  • Samson intentionally broke his Nazirite vow by touching a dead lion (Numbers 6:1–5; Judges 14:8–9) and allowing his hair to be cut (Judges 16:17).
  • David was referring to this kind of sin when he wrote, “Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered” (Psalm 32:1).
  • When we knowingly run a stop sign, tell a lie, or blatantly disregard an authority, we are transgressing.

2. Sin
Sin is an action that falls short of what God desires (Romans 3:23). If we don’t allow God to rule completely then sin is able to rule. Sin happens when we do:

  • Something against God or against a person (Exodus 10:16)
  • The opposite of what is right (Galatians 5:17)
  • Something that will have negative results (Proverbs 24:33–34).
  • The wrong thing when you know what is right (James 4:17).
  • Not do what you know is right (Numbers 15:27).

In order to further understand sin vs transgression, let’s look at it from a criminal perspective. In most true crimes there is an actus reus, the physical act, and a mens rea, or state of mind. These must occur at the same time for a crime to occur. We call this “concurrence.”

A sin lacks “mens rea”. There is no purposeful desire to disobey God. It is a point when the infraction happens while trying to accomplish something completely different.

In my effort to get to the meeting in time, I ran the red light.

Though it is wrong, the one acting did not plan to do it.

Iniquity – Iniquity happens when we do what we think is the right thing. Our actions are based on our own interpretation or our mindset. The problem is, it is wrong whether we think it is, want it to be, etc.

Proverbs 14:12 – Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
12 There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death.

You can only commit an iniquity once, the second time it is either a transgression or it is a sin.

Relationships

relate

Romans 12

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Relationships are tricky so I have learned to use “Romans 12” in all of my dealings. It really does not matter if the person that I am dealing with is saved or not.

The Power of Change

Since I was not posting when my daughter was 16-18 you have no idea that I was not sure that she was going to live. As my father used to say, I brought you into this world and I will take you out”. I think that there is a certified medical sickness or mental illness that comes upon teenagers. I just prayed. I prayed that God would deliver her, I prayed that God would deliver me, I prayed that I would not kill her, I prayed that she would not kill me. I cried and I prayed and I prayed and I cried.
But I did not give up. In proverbs 22:6, the Bible says “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” I was standing on that promise. Now I look at what God has done and I am so thankful. I want to encourage you to stand on that same promise. It may be hard, but don’t give up. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
