SUMMARY:Corinthians 2:11
DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (KJV) \nDo you know how the enemy fights you? \nYou need to know that there is a target on your back. You also have to recognize that are signs when the devil will be most effective against you.  \n1 Peter 5:8 Be sober\, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil\, as a roaring lion\, walketh about\, seeking whom he may devour: (KJV) \nBe well balanced and always alert. (TPT) \nMost importantly\, be disciplined and stay on guard. (TVT) \nThe greatest strategy in war is to know your enemy. The enemy knows you and is therefore extremely effective in his plan to kill\, steal\, and destroy.  \nJohn 10:10a The thief does not come except to steal\, and to kill\, and to destroy. (NKJV) \nHe has devised triggers. He knows how you respond to certain situations. He knows what is tempting for you and what is not. Do your due diligence; know who he is as well. Make it a point to understand how he fights\, the strategies he uses\, and the traps he sets for you. When you take a closer look at John 10:10\, you can see how the enemy fights. It gives the mission of the enemy.  \n\nHe comes to steal. \n\nThe Greek word is klepto (pronounced klep-to).  \nThis is where the word kleptomaniac has its origin. The Greeks understood kleptomania as you would understand a New Your City pickpocket. They steal from you without you knowing it until it is too late. That is how the devil steals from you. He does it two ways: \n\nThrough what you think about yourself. \n\nHe plants negative thoughts to steal your joy\, steal your peace\, and weaken your faith. He is strategic and so crafty in his thievery that you don’t realize that he has taken what God has said to you about you until it is gone. You blame anyone and everyone else for your problems when really the devil has stolen from you. \n\nThrough what you believe about God. \n\nThe devil treats you like he treated Eve in the garden. The strategy is\, he uses your lack of Bible knowledge against you. He will ask you questions you can’t answer if you don’t have the word of God in you. When the Bible is not your basis\, he can create a wrong belief system. He is the father of lies. He feeds you information that sounds true but leads you away from the Lord. When you believe what he says and act on it\, his lies become your reality. Then he steals your victories.   \n2 Peter 2:1-2 Just as false prophets rose up in the past among God’s people\, false teachers will rise up in the future among you. They will slip in with their destructive opinions\, denying the very Master who bought their freedom and dooming themselves to destruction swiftly\, 2 but not before they attract others by their unbridled and immoral behavior. Because of them and their ways\, others will criticize and condemn the path of truth we walk as seedy and disreputable. (TVT) \n\nHe comes to Kill. \n\nThe Greek word is thuo (pronounced thoo-o). \nThis word kill is not murder or taking a life. The Greek definition means to sacrifice or surrender what is precious to you\, i.e.\, the promises of God. When the devil can’t steal them\, he will convince you to let go of them. He brings stress\, pressure\, frustration\, delay. A hope delayed makes the heart grieve (Proverbs 13:12) and you give up.  \n2 Corinthians 4:8-11 Though we experience every kind of pressure\, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do\, but quitting is not an option. 9 We are persecuted by others\, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down\, but not out. 10 We continually share in the death of Jesus in our own bodies so that the resurrection life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. 11 We consider living to mean that we are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake so that the life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. (TPT) \n\nHe comes to Destroy.  \n\nThe Greek word is apollumi (pronounced ap-ol’-loo-mee). \nIt means to destroy\, perish\, or lose completely. What the devil does in this area is convince you what you thought was important is no longer attractive\, important\, or useful anymore. What do you do with things that have no longer have any worth? You lose interest in them\, and you throw them away\, destroy them and/or you let them go.  \nGenesis 25:32-33 And Esau said\, “Look\, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?” 33 Then Jacob said\, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him\, and sold his birthright to Jacob. (NKJV) \nWhen you understand the devil and his tactics\, you will not fall prey as often. Also\, when/if you fall prey\, you can make his traps less effective in your life. He has a plan for your demise. Do you have a plan for your success? Jesus does.  \nJohn 10:10b I have come that they may have life\, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJV) \nIt’s really up to you. If you don’t plan to succeed; by default\, you plan to fail. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, everything I need to know about the enemy is in Your word. You have given me the tools I need to be effective in this war. I repent for not seeking You to find what I needed to do. I also repent for not always doing what I needed to do when You told me. Because of my slothfulness\, the enemy has gained inroads into my life many times. I have godly sorrow\, because I allowed myself to be defeated. I am also sorry because I could have gotten the victory and therefore would not have to feel this way. Because of  what You have taught me\, now I am fortifying myself every day. What used to work for the devil does not work anymore. The level of devastation he can inflict has diminished and is continuing to diminish. Thank You for the knowledge I need to be victorious and the wisdom to use it. Thank You for new victories… \nAsk the lord what he wants to say to you about today’s devotional and journal it here:
