SUMMARY:Ephesians 2:5
DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 2:5 This is how Grace rescued us: sin left us dead towards God\, like spiritual corpses; yet in that state of deadness and indifference\, God co-quickened us together with Christ. Sin proved how dead we were (the law confirmed it!) Grace reveals how alive we are now (the gospel announces it!) Before anyone but God believed it\, He made us alive together with Him and raised us up together with Him. (TMB) \nDo you still think it’s about work you can do? \nThe enemy tries to convince you there is a certain amount of work you must do in order for God to love you. Look at Ephesians 2:8-9\, so settle your heart and mind. God’s love for you has everything to do with who He is. While you were dead in trespasses and sin\, you weren’t thinking about God. However\, because of His infinite grace and love\, He joined you together with Him. You accepted His love. Now you are saved!  \nEphesians 2:8a For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith.  \nThe reality is\, God’s love for you has nothing to do with what you may do or what you might have done\, bad or good. Defeat the enemy when he tries to remind you of your past by telling him about your future. \nEphesians 2:8b And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort]\, but it is the [undeserved\, gracious] gift of God;  \nIt’s not about you\, never was\, never will be. Don’t frustrate yourself and the grace of God by working to accomplish what God has already given you. Serve God out of your love for what He has done\, not out of obligation. It will help you stay in check when you compare what you do with what someone else is not doing or does not do. \nEphesians 2:8-9  not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law]\, so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. (TPT) \nDon’t allow the enemy to convince you of anything different. You will find one of the greatest points of this warfare in the truth of God’s love. If the enemy can make you believe you have to earn salvation or work to keep it; he will defeat you before you have begun. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nMy Lord and Father\, oh\, how excellent is Your grace and Your mercy towards me! I was going the way I wanted to go and doing the things I wanted to do. Your love rescued me and brought me into Your kingdom. I am sorry for thinking I was a “good” person\, and that was enough. I also repent for thinking there is some amount of good I can continue to do that will hold my place in heaven. Please forgive me and continually remind me there is no amount of good I think I have done; I can do right now; or can ever do or think of doing that could make me deserve Your love. I know I can’t repay You. The thing I can do is accept what You did; believe in Your grace; testify of Your truth; and never forget to say thank You\, always… \nAsk the lord what he wants to say to you about today’s devotional and journal it here:
