DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (KJV) \nDo you know how the enemy fights you? \nYou need to know that there is a target on your back. You also have to recognize that are signs when the devil will be most effective against you.  \n1 Peter 5:8 Be sober\, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil\, as a roaring lion\, walketh about\, seeking whom he may devour: (KJV) \nBe well balanced and always alert. (TPT) \nMost importantly\, be disciplined and stay on guard. (TVT) \nThe greatest strategy in war is to know your enemy. The enemy knows you and is therefore extremely effective in his plan to kill\, steal\, and destroy.  \nJohn 10:10a The thief does not come except to steal\, and to kill\, and to destroy. (NKJV) \nHe has devised triggers. He knows how you respond to certain situations. He knows what is tempting for you and what is not. Do your due diligence; know who he is as well. Make it a point to understand how he fights\, the strategies he uses\, and the traps he sets for you. When you take a closer look at John 10:10\, you can see how the enemy fights. It gives the mission of the enemy.  \n\nHe comes to steal. \n\nThe Greek word is klepto (pronounced klep-to).  \nThis is where the word kleptomaniac has its origin. The Greeks understood kleptomania as you would understand a New Your City pickpocket. They steal from you without you knowing it until it is too late. That is how the devil steals from you. He does it two ways: \n\nThrough what you think about yourself. \n\nHe plants negative thoughts to steal your joy\, steal your peace\, and weaken your faith. He is strategic and so crafty in his thievery that you don’t realize that he has taken what God has said to you about you until it is gone. You blame anyone and everyone else for your problems when really the devil has stolen from you. \n\nThrough what you believe about God. \n\nThe devil treats you like he treated Eve in the garden. The strategy is\, he uses your lack of Bible knowledge against you. He will ask you questions you can’t answer if you don’t have the word of God in you. When the Bible is not your basis\, he can create a wrong belief system. He is the father of lies. He feeds you information that sounds true but leads you away from the Lord. When you believe what he says and act on it\, his lies become your reality. Then he steals your victories.   \n2 Peter 2:1-2 Just as false prophets rose up in the past among God’s people\, false teachers will rise up in the future among you. They will slip in with their destructive opinions\, denying the very Master who bought their freedom and dooming themselves to destruction swiftly\, 2 but not before they attract others by their unbridled and immoral behavior. Because of them and their ways\, others will criticize and condemn the path of truth we walk as seedy and disreputable. (TVT) \n\nHe comes to Kill. \n\nThe Greek word is thuo (pronounced thoo-o). \nThis word kill is not murder or taking a life. The Greek definition means to sacrifice or surrender what is precious to you\, i.e.\, the promises of God. When the devil can’t steal them\, he will convince you to let go of them. He brings stress\, pressure\, frustration\, delay. A hope delayed makes the heart grieve (Proverbs 13:12) and you give up.  \n2 Corinthians 4:8-11 Though we experience every kind of pressure\, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do\, but quitting is not an option. 9 We are persecuted by others\, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down\, but not out. 10 We continually share in the death of Jesus in our own bodies so that the resurrection life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. 11 We consider living to mean that we are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake so that the life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. (TPT) \n\nHe comes to Destroy.  \n\nThe Greek word is apollumi (pronounced ap-ol’-loo-mee). \nIt means to destroy\, perish\, or lose completely. What the devil does in this area is convince you what you thought was important is no longer attractive\, important\, or useful anymore. What do you do with things that have no longer have any worth? You lose interest in them\, and you throw them away\, destroy them and/or you let them go.  \nGenesis 25:32-33 And Esau said\, “Look\, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?” 33 Then Jacob said\, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him\, and sold his birthright to Jacob. (NKJV) \nWhen you understand the devil and his tactics\, you will not fall prey as often. Also\, when/if you fall prey\, you can make his traps less effective in your life. He has a plan for your demise. Do you have a plan for your success? Jesus does.  \nJohn 10:10b I have come that they may have life\, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJV) \nIt’s really up to you. If you don’t plan to succeed; by default\, you plan to fail. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, everything I need to know about the enemy is in Your word. You have given me the tools I need to be effective in this war. I repent for not seeking You to find what I needed to do. I also repent for not always doing what I needed to do when You told me. Because of my slothfulness\, the enemy has gained inroads into my life many times. I have godly sorrow\, because I allowed myself to be defeated. I am also sorry because I could have gotten the victory and therefore would not have to feel this way. Because of  what You have taught me\, now I am fortifying myself every day. What used to work for the devil does not work anymore. The level of devastation he can inflict has diminished and is continuing to diminish. DESCRIPTION:Galatians 1:4 Grace and peace have their reference in the fact that Jesus gave himself as the scapegoat for our sins and plucked us out from the evil of this present religious age that encroached on us. This was exactly what the Father had planned in His love for mankind. (TMB) \nAre you walking in the liberty Christ died for? \nThis warfare requires you to know Jesus died for your sins. Jesus died because it was the will of God\, your Father. His death made it possible for you to be delivered from all the evil the world offers. Now walk in grace and peace. You are aware when you disobey God; you should be. However\, it is important not to allow every time you miss the mark to be the only thing you think about. If you become overly sin-conscious\, your thoughts will condemn you because you are continually passing judgement on yourself.   \nRomans 8:1-2 Therefore\, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus\, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh\, but after the dictates of the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death. (AMPC) \nAlso\, constantly focusing on your wrongs means you believe satan’s activity in your life is more effective than what Jesus did on the cross. This is not true! Live free from condemnation\, yours and anyone else’s.  \n\nBy faith\, Jesus’ victory on the cross freed you from the penalty of sin.\n\nJohn 8:34\, 36 “I speak eternal truth\,” Jesus said. “When you sin you are not free. You’ve become a slave in bondage to your sin. 36 So if the Son sets you free from sin\, then become a true son and be unquestionably free! (TPT) \n\nJesus’ victory on the cross freed you from the power of sin in your life.\n\nRomans 6:14 For sin shall have no power over you\, inasmuch as ye are not under the law\, but under grace. (WNT) \n\nJesus’ victory on the cross freed you from the law. The law’s job is to expose sin\, not forgive it.\n\nRomans 3:20-22 For no person will be justified [freed of guilt and declared righteous] in His sight by [trying to do] the works of the Law. For through the Law we become conscious of sin [and the recognition of sin directs us toward repentance\, but provides no remedy for sin]. (AMP) \n\nJesus’ victory on the cross freed you to live your life as you choose.\n\n1 Corinthians 6:12 It’s true that our freedom allows us to do anything\, but that doesn’t mean that everything we do is good for us. I’m free to do as I choose\, but I choose to never be enslaved to anything. (TPT) \nWalk in the liberty Jesus died for. This does not mean you should make provision for your flesh and allow sin to abound. It does not mean that your liberty tramples your call to love as Jesus loved. It means you are free to live\, even if you make mistakes. Accepting this truth should bring you a greater sense of liberty. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, thank You for my freedom. I don’t have to live a life that’s tormented by my past\, before You saved me. I don’t have to be distressed by my present mistakes. Thank You for reminding me of the victory Jesus bought with His death and through His resurrection. I can walk free from condemnation. Though I know sin exists in my life\, help me not to focus on it all the time. I also don’t want to get so callous that sinning won’t bother me. I know it is a balance that only You and the work of the Holy Spirit can make sure I keep. Please help me walk in true repentance when I sin\, knowing You forgive me\, and I am free to move forward in You. DESCRIPTION:James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil\, and he will flee from you. (KJV) \nAre you submitted to God? \nYou are in a war and the battlefield is in your mind. Your defense comes from you totally giving yourself over to the power and the authority of God the Father. There is no such thing as partial submission.  \nRevelation 3:15-16 I know your works. You are neither cold with apathy nor hot with passion. It would be better if you were one or the other\, but you are neither. 16 So because you are lukewarm\, neither cold nor hot\, I will vomit you out of My mouth. (TVT) \nAs you look at James 4:7-10\, you will find guidance and direction to determine if you are submitting yourself to God. You will also find out how to submit if you are not. There are specific characteristics of a submitted life.   \n\n You don’t govern yourself.\n\nJames 4:7a So submit to [the authority of] God. (AMP) \nStrong’s definition for submit: NT:5293 hupotasso (hoop-ot-as’-so). It means to be under obedience (obedient)\, put under\, subdue unto\, be/make subject to/unto\, be/put in subjection (to\, under)\, submit one’s self unto. This word means you have voluntarily become someone’s slave. You have given them permission to dictate your will. There is not pride left in you\, only the desire to obey God’s will. \n\n You resist the devil\, and the devil runs away.\n\nJames 4:7b Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. (AMP) \nStrong’s definition for resist: NT:436 anthistemi (anth-is’-tay-mee). It means to stand against\, i.e.\, oppose\, resist\, withstand. Our problem too often is that we are double minded\, clinging both to our selfish desires and a desire to please God. We must clearly take a stand against the devil and let go of the desire that gives him power over us. He dangled before Jesus a partnership with him to accomplish God’s divine purpose. I am sure He wanted to eat because He was hungry. He knew He was both God and man; there was no need to prove it. Gaining recognition as a spiritual leader and ruler was not the plan of God for Jesus. These things would automatically flow out of the completion of His task. Jesus had a different path and method for achieving His goal. The devil takes honest and reasonable desires and twists them. He plays on our desires (James 1:14-15) and tries to convince us that using shortcuts is better than doing it God’s way. You resist the devil by not yielding to his temptations\, saying “no” to him and “yes” to God. If you do\, he will flee from you. \n\n You love with a purified heart.\n\nJames 4:8b Wash your hands\, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts\, you double-minded [people]. (AMP) \nStrong’s definition for wash:  NT:2511 katharizo (kath-ar-id’-zo); from NT:2513; to cleanse (literally or figuratively). Strong’s definition for purify: NT:48 hagnizo (hag-nid’-zo); from NT:53; to make clean\, i.e. (figuratively) sanctify (ceremonially or morally)\, purify (self). James writes\, “wash your hands.” What does this mean? He also says\, “purify our hearts”. He distinguished between washing and purifying. You can wash your hands; however\, only God can purify your heart. You must do your part. Washing your hands is another way of saying\, “I will stop doing wrong”. “Purify your hearts\, you double-minded\,” is the second part of this directive. You must stop doing wrong (wash our hands)\, and then turn your will through repentance and God will (purify your heart). The double-mindedness must go; and it will if you truly repent. When you repent\, your will is no longer divided. Your faith and love for God confirms it. \nOften you are more sorry you got caught than you are for what you did. The sorrow should come from the realization that your heart was so hard you could commit this affront to God. It is not only morally wrong; it is also a personal rebellion against The One who loves you. The appropriate response is grief. It is more than acknowledging your sin; it is owning your responsibility for it. \n\n You are humble in your thoughts\, words\, and deeds.\n\nJames 4:10 Humble yourselves [with an attitude of repentance and insignificance] in the presence of the Lord\, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up\, He will give you purpose]. (AMP) \nStrong’s definition for humble: NT:5013 tapeinoo (tap-i-no’-o); from NT:5011. It means  to depress; figuratively\, to humiliate (in condition or heart)\, to abase and bring yourself low. In order to be submitted to God\, you must be humble. James discusses the things that keep you from being submitted like: selfishness\, roots of pride\, having an independent spirit\, self-indulgence\, placing yourself purposefully in situations to be tempted with sin\, acting as if you know what’s good for you better than God\, etc.  \nIf you are going to live a submitted life\, you must live a lifestyle of evaluating yourself to find any rebellion (which is sin)\, acknowledge it (”confession”)\, and turn away from it (”repentance”). You can then continuously come before God as His servant. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, help me remain in the place I am in right now\, in Your presence. I repent and ask You to forgive me for allowing distraction to pull my focus. Please help me focus my thoughts on Your love for me and the fact that Jesus died for me. You have taught me if I refuse to focus on what the enemy has set before me or the current issues in my life\, the enemy will flee. It is my job to remove the platform the devil is standing on. I know I set up that platform when I remove You from the center of my life. I have to keep my mind on You. Your word tells me if I do\, You will keep me in perfect peace\, and the enemy cannot torment me. You have shown me what I need to do to keep my mind on You. I repent for not always obeying Your instruction. Even now\, I recognize when I spend all of my time thinking and talking about my issues and my problems; I am being selfish and the time that I spent was unproductive. However\, when I submit all of who I am to You\, talk to You\, and focus on You\, I am engulfed in Your presence. I feel peace resting on me like a blanket and I thank You for it. You speak to me and You always answer my prayers. Sometimes You give me the answers to my issues. Sometimes You show me that the issue is me. However\, You always guide me to a place of peace. DESCRIPTION:1 John 4:4 My darling children\, you have nothing to fear; do not doubt for a moment the legitimacy of your son ship! You originate in God and have already conquered the worldly religious system because of the unveiling of Christ in you! His living presence in you is far superior to the futile anti-Christ mindsets present in the world! (TMB) \nAre you being tormented by fear? \nFear is a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger\, evil\, pain\, etc. Fear exists whether the threat is real or imagined. It is one of the major devices the enemy uses in this war. He uses: \n\nFear of the unknown.\n\nSatan wants your focus to be on your future fears rather than on your present blessings. When your   focus is on the future and what may or may not happen\, your worries and fears about what tomorrow may bring\, etc. You are not living in the present and you miss all that God wants to teach you today. \nIsaiah 41:10 ‘Do not fear [anything]\, for I am with you; Do not be afraid\, for I am your God. I will strengthen you\, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice\, of power\, of victory\, of salvation].’ (AMP) \n\nFear of the known. \n\nWhen you focus on things that have happened and what the outcome “may” be\, you forget to praise God for the things He’s doing in that moment. The devil hates it when you praise God\, especially in times of trouble. Why wouldn’t he do everything he can to keep your focus on fear and worry rather than on thanksgiving and praise? \nPsalm 42:5 So then\, my soul\, why would you be depressed? Why would you sink into despair? Just keep hoping and waiting on God\, your Savior. For no matter what\, I will still sing with praise\, for you are my saving grace! (TPT) \n\nFear of losing control.\n\nSatan tricks you into believing that worrying gives you some control over your circumstances. The truth is\, you are not and will never be in control. You may tell yourself you are\, and sometimes it may feel as if you have control over your circumstances. However\, that’s not the truth. You don’t even have control over your breath. God is the only One in control and the only One who will ever be. \nJob 34:13-15 From the very beginning\, God has been in control of all the world. 14 If God took back the breath     that he breathed into us\, 15 we humans would die and return to the soil. (CEV) \n\nFear you’re not “really” saved. \n\nSalvation is not a feeling; it is a fact. IF you accepted Christ Jesus into your heart\, God saved you. There may be times when you don’t do\, think\, and say the things you feel a “saved person” would. However\, your salvation is not based on that. As you allow the Lord to transform you\, your behavior will change.  \nJohn 17:3 And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive\, recognize\, become acquainted with\, and understand) You\, the only true and real God\, and [likewise] to know Him\, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One\, the Messiah)\, Whom You have sent. (AMPC) \n\nFear that one mistake can cost you everything. \n\nWhen you don’t understand the finished work of salvation\, you think it comes and goes\, depending on what you do or what you do not do. God is not like human beings. He did not save you because of who you are. He saved you because of who He is. He saved you knowing what you did\, what you are doing and what you will do. Salvation is forever because He said it is. There is nothing you can do to take God’s love away.  \nRomans 8:33-34 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect [when it is] God Who justifies [that is\, Who puts you in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God\, Who acquits us?] 34 Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah)\, Who died\, or rather Who was raised from the dead\, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us? (AMPC) \nYou have to KNOW\, because you are a child of God; He is in you. His power is available to you\, not because of anything you’ve done; it’s because of what Jesus did on the cross for you. Fear is a feeling\, your salvation is not. And though the enemy tries to trick you with fear; God is greater.  \nPsalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death\, I fear no evil\, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide]\, they comfort and console me. (AMP) \nThe defense against fear is faith. Faith is what Jesus demonstrated to you and what He died for you to have. You win the victory because of your faith. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, in the name of Jesus\, I repent for allowing fear to stop me from moving forward. I thank You for showing me where the spirit of fear is rooted. Thank You for giving me power\, love and a sound mind. Your perfect love gets rid of any fear I may have if I allow it to. I know I belong to You and there is nothing the enemy can threaten me with that is more powerful than Your love and I thank You. SUMMARY:Ephesians 2:5
DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 2:5 This is how Grace rescued us: sin left us dead towards God\, like spiritual corpses; yet in that state of deadness and indifference\, God co-quickened us together with Christ. Sin proved how dead we were (the law confirmed it!) Grace reveals how alive we are now (the gospel announces it!) Before anyone but God believed it\, He made us alive together with Him and raised us up together with Him. (TMB) \nDo you still think it’s about work you can do? \nThe enemy tries to convince you there is a certain amount of work you must do in order for God to love you. Look at Ephesians 2:8-9\, so settle your heart and mind. God’s love for you has everything to do with who He is. While you were dead in trespasses and sin\, you weren’t thinking about God. However\, because of His infinite grace and love\, He joined you together with Him. You accepted His love. Now you are saved!  \nEphesians 2:8a For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith.  \nThe reality is\, God’s love for you has nothing to do with what you may do or what you might have done\, bad or good. Defeat the enemy when he tries to remind you of your past by telling him about your future. \nEphesians 2:8b And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort]\, but it is the [undeserved\, gracious] gift of God;  \nIt’s not about you\, never was\, never will be. Don’t frustrate yourself and the grace of God by working to accomplish what God has already given you. Serve God out of your love for what He has done\, not out of obligation. It will help you stay in check when you compare what you do with what someone else is not doing or does not do. \nEphesians 2:8-9  not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law]\, so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. (TPT) \nDon’t allow the enemy to convince you of anything different. You will find one of the greatest points of this warfare in the truth of God’s love. If the enemy can make you believe you have to earn salvation or work to keep it; he will defeat you before you have begun. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nMy Lord and Father\, oh\, how excellent is Your grace and Your mercy towards me! I was going the way I wanted to go and doing the things I wanted to do. Your love rescued me and brought me into Your kingdom. I am sorry for thinking I was a “good” person\, and that was enough. I also repent for thinking there is some amount of good I can continue to do that will hold my place in heaven. Please forgive me and continually remind me there is no amount of good I think I have done; I can do right now; or can ever do or think of doing that could make me deserve Your love. I know I can’t repay You. A sign of your salvation is our love for God\, and for your fellow man. If you cannot show love\, then you are not alive in Christ; you still have some flesh to crucify. How can you say you love God whom you have not seen and not love your fellow man whom you see every day? It’s a significant question.  \n1 John 4:20-21 If anyone says\, “I love God\,” and hates (works against) his brother or sister he is a liar; for the one who does not love his sister or brother whom he has seen\, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from Him\, that the one who loves God should also [unselfishly] demonstrate love to others and seek the best for them. (AMP\, edited) \nThere are some questions you can ask yourself to see if you have or still need to crucify your flesh: \n\nAm I praying sincerely and consistently? \n\nNot those quick prayers in the morning\, over your food and when you are going to work. Are you praying prayers of submission and acknowledgement of God’s control and will over your life? \n1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always and delight in your faith; 17 be unceasing and persistent in prayer; 18 in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. (AMP) \n\nAm I reading and studying the word every day? \n\nYou cannot only read the Bible like you would a novel if you want to be transformed. Reading begins the process. However\, you have to study if you want to apply the scripture to your life. \n2 Timothy 2:15 Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial)\, a workman who has no cause to be ashamed\, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. (AMPC) \n\nAm I living a lifestyle of repentance? \n\nYes\, God does know your heart and He will forgive you. However\, telling Him about your sins and asking for forgiveness is for you. It is not a onetime thing; it is what you do every time you sin. You confess\, not only to be forgiven; you confess because it will release the pain you feel as you admit to the Father you have done wrong.  \nPsalms 51:3-4 For I’m so ashamed. I feel such pain and anguish within me. I can’t get away from the sting of my sin against you\, Lord! Everything I did\, I did right in front of you\, for you saw it all. Against you\, and you above all\, have I sinned. Everything you say to me is infallibly true and your judgment conquers me. (TPT) \n\nAm I including God in everything? \n\nDo you have some things you ask God about and some that you decide to handle on your own? How is that working for you? \nProverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do\, and he will show you which path to take. (NLT) \n\nAm I choosing God every day and in every circumstance? \n\nDeuteronomy 30: 15-16 “See\, I have set before you today life and good\, death and evil\, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God\, to walk in His ways\, and to keep His commandments\, His statutes\, and His judgments\, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.” (NKJV) \n\nAm I doing what the word says or am I just reading it?\n\nJames 1:22 But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts]\, and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning]\, deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth]. (AMP) \n\nAm I consistent or am I with Him only when things are going the way I want them to?\n\n1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore\, my beloved brothers and sisters\, be steadfast\, immovable\, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed]\, being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose]. (AMP) \nAre still weighing your love choices based on what you want and what may prove beneficial to you and your plans? Your plan is not foolproof. You are not omniscient. If you are choosing you\, there is still more dying for you to do. There are times you give yourself reasons for choosing what you want. Whatever those reasons are\, they are not valid in Christ. Your actions may not cause you to pause; however\, they do not show the love of God. In addition\, they reflect poorly on The One you profess to serve. Whatever happens\, God’s wishes for you do not change. It’s easy to love\, give\, and serve when things are going the way you think they should. When things are going to the left and you do not respond with love; you still have some dying to do. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, You have shown me that Your love surpasses my understanding. I repent for pretending like I don’t understand the type of love and life You require\, because I do. Please forgive me. You taught me by allowing the death of Your Son for me. Understanding it and walking in it are two different things. Show me what stands in my way. Expose what is in my heart that keeps me from being an example of You. I want to live like You require; not just when things are going how I think they should go. I want the world to see You and not me when I am being tested. I want to love the ones who mistreat me; who I have mistakenly called unlovely; and who act like they don’t want love. No matter how wonderful you may think you are\, all of your righteousness is as filthy rags. \nIsaiah 64:6 We are all messed up like a person compromised with impurity; even all our right efforts are like soiled rags. We’re drying up like a leaf in autumn and are blown away by wrongdoing. (TVT) \nThe other strategy the devil uses is to help you identify someone “you think” is not doing as well as you. You compare yourself with them and say\, “At least I don’t do…” Then you feel even more proud of who you are. Does that remind you of someone you’ve read about in the Bible?  \nLuke 18:10-13 Once there were two men who went into the temple to pray. One was a proud religious leader\, the other a despised tax collector. 11–12 The religious leader stood apart from the others and prayed\, ‘How I thank you\, O God\, that I’m not wicked like everyone else. They’re cheaters\, swindlers\, and crooks—like that tax collector over there. God\, you know that I never cheat or commit adultery; I fast from food twice a week and I give you a tenth of all I make.’ 13 The tax collector stood off alone in the corner\, away from the Holy Place\, and covered his face in his hands\, feeling that he was unworthy to even look up to God. Those differences are the only ones that mean anything. A great place to start is Galatians 5:22-23. Do you have the love\, joy (gladness)\, peace\, patience (an even temper\, forbearance)\, kindness\, goodness (benevolence)\, faithfulness\, gentleness (meekness\, humility)\, self-control (self-restraint\, continence) that Jesus showed? What You want is for me to compare myself to Jesus\, allow You to show me where  I need to mature\, and allow You to make me more and more like Him. You love me\, so now I know I can feel good about myself. I can feel good about me because You shaped me\, equipped me\, and called me. I am special in Your eyes. I don’t need self-confidence; I need God-confidence. I can’t see myself as You see me by comparing myself to others. (TMB) \nWhose ideas do you really want? \nDo you realize that within you\, human you\, there is nothing good?  \nRomans 7:18-20 But I need something more! For if I know the law but still can’t keep it\, and if the power of sin within me keeps sabotaging my best intentions\, I obviously need help! I realize that I don’t have what it takes. I can will it\, but I can’t do it. I decide to do good\, but I don’t really do it; I decide not to do bad\, but then I do it anyway. My decisions\, such as they are\, don’t result in actions. Something has gone wrong deep within me and gets the better of me every time. (MSG) \nYou can have ideas and intentions to produce something you believe will be a blessing for others. Just know\, though you may see them through to the end\, they will not produce the Godkind of results without God. This is also true even when God you are sure you are obeying the voice of God and you join Him in His work. The work must be by His power and strength. You go down the wrong path when you use “your money”\, “your passion”\, and “your strength”. The enemy will get you wrapped up in planning and orchestrating “good” things. Yet\, somehow\, the sacrifices you will have to make can often stop you in your tracks. You become exhausted because you are working in your own power and not God’s. \n\nAbraham tried to fix things when he lied about Sarah being his sister. (Genesis 20)\n\nGenesis 20:10-11 And Abimelech said to Abraham\, “What have you encountered or seen [in us or our customs]\, that you have done this [unjust] thing?” 11 Abraham said\, Because I thought\, ‘Surely there is no fear or reverence of God in this place\, and they will kill me because of my wife.’ (AMP)  \n\nSarah made a mess when she tried to make a way for Abraham to have offspring. The feud between those sons is still going on today. (Genesis 16\, 21)\nKing Saul tried to do a good thing and disobeyed God. (1 Samuel 15)\n\n1 Samuel 15:13-15 Then Samuel went to Saul\, and Saul said to him\, “Blessed are you of the Lord! I have performed the commandment of the Lord.” 14 But Samuel said\, “What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears\, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?” 15 And Saul said\, “They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and the oxen\, to sacrifice to the Lord your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.” (NKJV)  \n\nPeter was trying to make sense of the old traditions and the new. (Acts 11)\n\nActs 11:7-9 I also heard a voice saying to me\, ‘Get up\, Peter; [a]kill and eat.’ 8 But I said\, ‘By no means\, Lord\, for nothing [b]unholy or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ 9 But a voice from heaven answered a second time\, ‘What God has cleansed\, no longer [c]consider unholy’. (NASB) \nIf you are not careful\, you become unreliable and inconsistent. Ding! Another point for the devil! Don’t be ignorant of  his devices. Know the types of traps he sets for you. Allow God to guide you and direct you. The goal of your work must be for God’s glory. It cannot happen without God. If you spend time in the presence of the Father\, He will give you witty ideas and the grace to fulfill them. They may seem impossible for you to do\, which is exactly the way they should seem. It’s God’s idea\, and only God can fulfill the idea through you. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, today I stop coming up with things to do and asking You to bless my ideas. I am very sorry. Please forgive me. No longer do I want “good ideas\,” I want “Your ideas”. I will wait for You to order my steps\, light my path\, and show me what You want me to do. I used to be anxious when things don’t happen when I want them to\, how I want them to\, and where I want them to. That stops today! I also stop looking for the response I want to receive from those who are in my life and from You. If I don’t\, anxiety and frustration make my heart heavy and block You out. I will do what Your word says. I will be anxious for nothing. I want more of You and I will wait for You. By the way\, this is also your overcoming testimony.  \nEphesians 2:3 Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self]\, indulging the desires of human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were\, by nature\, children [under the sentence] of [God’s] wrath\, just like the rest [of mankind].  \nYour testimony: I lived doing what I wanted to do\, when I wanted to\, and how I wanted to. DESCRIPTION:Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ\, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works\, and of faith toward God. (KJV) \nAre you willing to allow God to grow you up? \nA trick of the devil is to pull you into a moment where you reminisce about who you used to be and how you used to feel when you first got saved. Now\, he doesn’t want you to give glory to God for that event. His strategy is diabolical. What he wants to do is make you compare what you currently feel with what you once felt. If he’s able to show you a difference in how you feel\, he will also try to convince you there is something wrong with you. Ultimately\, he wants you to question your salvation. You’ll try to do things to prove God saved you. If you are not continually maturing in Christ\, the devil can be successful in convincing you did not get saved and you need to do the process over again. Stop him!  \n\nEither you are saved\, or you are not.\n\n1 John 5:11-13 And the testimony is this: God has given us eternal life [we already possess it]\, and this life is in His Son [resulting in our spiritual completeness\, and eternal companionship with Him]. 12 He who has the Son [by accepting Him as Lord and Savior] has the life [that is eternal]; he who does not have the Son of God [by personal faith] does not have the life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God [which represents all that Jesus Christ is and does]\, so that you will know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have eternal life. (AMP) \n\nEither you believe in God\, or you do not.\n\n1 John 5:10 The one who believes in the Son of God [who adheres to\, trusts in\, and relies confidently on Him as Savior] has the testimony within himself [because he can speak authoritatively about Christ from his own personal experience]. The one who does not believe God [in this way] has made Him [out to be] a liar\, because he has not believed in the evidence that God has given regarding His Son. (AMP) \n\nEither you are ready to move to develop a stronger walk in Christ\, or you are not.\n\nHebrews 5:12  For though by this time you ought to be teachers [because of the time you have had to learn these truths]\, you actually need someone to teach you again the elementary principles of God’s word [from the beginning]\, and you have come to be continually in need of milk\, not solid food. (AMP) \nNo matter how much you liked elementary school; you had to move on; it is the same with Christ. To be victorious in this war\, mature in the things of God. Do not allow your emotions to rule you. Your salvation is not a feeling\, it is a fact. Stand on it. With each new level in Christ\, the enemy intensifies the warfare. It can sometimes make you forget the joy you felt when your salvation was new and you first believed. There is a remedy. At any moment you can say to God like David did\, “restore unto me the joy of thy salvation”. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I remember when I surrendered my will to You. I remember the joy I felt and the peace. Each day looked and felt new; I felt new. I wanted to continue to feel that way. I realize I can’t go back to that place; I repent for trying to recreate that moment and the distractions that pursuit caused. Thank You for forgiving me and letting me know You don’t want me to move backwards. You want me to use that moment as a launching pad and an altar. I can have the joy of Your salvation renewed in me. All I have to do is ask. I can spend more time with You and grow closer to You. I can experience new levels in You\, higher heights and deeper depths. I will not allow the memories of the moment of my salvation to overshadow new moments with You. My salvation experience will always be in my memory. Thinking about it will always make me smile. DESCRIPTION:Psalms 139:17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me\, O God! how great is the sum of them! (KJV) \nDo you understand how much God loves you? \nWhen you are fighting in a war\, you often don’t think about how much God loves you. You reflect on the war. In order to put everything in perspective you have to retreat\, to rest a bit\, to reflect and regroup. The greatest way to retreat is to meditate on the word and think about what the Father thinks about you. It’s a wonderful thing to know and feel the love of God. Walk in this realization: The God of all god’s\, the Lord of lords and the King of kings\, is concerned about you. Knowing He thinks about you should give you rest and peace.  \n“For man is experiencing a new awakening\, and he is searching for My Truth more than ever\, and I must speak through My prophets; and if they be not separated unto Me\, how can I instruct them? Yea\, I shall nourish thee by the brook as I nourished Elijah; I shall speak to thee out of the bush as I spoke to Moses and reveal My glory on the hillside as I did to the shepherds. Come away\, My beloved\, and be as the doe upon the mountains; yea\, we shall go down together to the gardens.”  \nHe knows the number of hairs on your head. He sees and counts your tears. How refreshing that knowledge is! Not only does the Lord want you to take a time of rest and reflection\, you must realize you need this time with the Lord as well. \nMark 6:31-32  And He said to them\, [As for you] come away by yourselves to a deserted place\, and rest a while—for many were [continually] coming and going\, and they had not even leisure enough to eat. 32 And they went away in a boat to a solitary place by themselves. (AMPC) \n\nGod rested\, not because He was tired. He was leading by example. \n\nGenesis 2:2-3 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy\, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. (NIV) \nExodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth\, the sea\, and all that is in them\, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. (NIV) \n\nGod demonstrated the need for rest because your body is weak and needs to recharge.\n\nMatt. 8:24b But Jesus was sleeping. (NIV) \nMark 14:38b “The spirit indeed is willing\, but the flesh is weak.” (NKJV) \n\nGod demonstrated the need for rest because He understands that you make poor decisions when you’re tired/stressed/ exhausted.\n\nGenesis 25:29-33 Once when Jacob was cooking some stew\, Esau came in from the open country\, famished. 30 He said to Jacob\, “Quick\, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” (That is why he was also called Edom.) 31 Jacob replied\, “First sell me your birthright.” 32 “Look\, I am about to die\,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?”33 But Jacob said\, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him\, selling his birthright to Jacob. (NIV) \nMatthew 26:69-75 Moses hit the rock instead of speaking to it. \nGod demonstrated the need for rest because rest enables you to think\, calibrate and recalibrate\, and get clarity and focus on what is important. \nProv. 14:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways\, but the folly of fools is deception. (NIV) \nThe rest God is wants for you is not the normal rest you take from your daily work or relief from physical exhausted when you have worked hard. It is that profound peace that God gives to those who love and obey Him regardless of circumstances. (TMB) \nAre you loving with the love of God? \nDo you sometimes evaluate someone else’s life\, picking out their flaws\, indiscretions\, and mistakes? Are you sometimes really critical? You may not be willing to accept this\, however\, you are actually being judgmental. It’s a terrible thing. This is yet another trap from the devil. Don’t fall into it. Remember who you used to be and how you used to act. Your memories should not give the enemy fuel to torment you. They should serve as a reality check. Though you may think so\, everything you did and everything you said did not come up smelling like roses.  \n1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you [before you believed]. But you were washed [by the atoning sacrifice of Christ]\, you were sanctified [set apart for God\, and made holy]\, you were justified [declared free of guilt] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God [the source of the believer’s new life and changed behavior]. (AMP) \nBefore Jesus\, and a time or two after Jesus\, you probably did some of the same things you are judging someone else for doing. You said little ugly things\, and you stirred up foolishness. Not because you wanted to\, not even because you tried to. You did it because you hadn’t relinquished complete control over to the Lord. You were still making choices without regard for the consequences of your actions. The trick of the enemy is to judge\, put away your magnifying glass and pick up a mirror. The power of Christ is to love. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, in the name of Jesus\, forgive me for being judgmental and critical. Forgive me for not remembering\, or pretending to forget\, the person I used to be. You found me\, rescued me\, and drew me closer to You. You showed me who I was\, but\, more importantly\, You showed me who You designed me to be. You changed me and are continuing to change me. Though I might be proud of who I am today\, I know I am not the finished product. You are still working on me\, and I am grateful. I know You are doing the same in others. I’m not sure what made me think I could see the behind-the-scenes work You’re doing. It is a wonderful thing You keep that work hidden. I repent for putting myself in a place of judgment. I ask You to forgive me. Please\, Father\, continue to prick me when I lose my compassion. I want to show love. DESCRIPTION:Hebrews 4:12 The message God spoke to us in Christ\, is the most life-giving and dynamic influence in us\, cutting like a surgeon’s scalpel\, sharper than a soldier’s sword\, piercing to the deepest core of human conscious\, to the dividing of soul and spirit; ending the dominance of the sense realm and its neutralizing effect upon the human spirit. In this way man’s spirit is free to become the ruling influence again in the thoughts and intentions of the heart. The scrutiny of this word detects every possible disease\, discerning the bodies deepest secrets were joint and bone-marrow meet. (TMB) \nWho is fooling who? \nYou may be able to fool others\, and sadly yourself. The word of God\, because it is God\, cannot be fooled. Your mind is incredibly fascinating. It can create defense mechanisms and intricate unrealistic self-images. It even allows you to act like the image is real\, even though you know it is not. That’s why it’s extremely important for you to stay in the word. You need the word to wash over you\, to examine you\, and to show you who you really are. \nJames 1:23-25 If some fail to do what God requires\, it’s as if they forget the word as soon as they hear it. One minute they look in the mirror\, and the next they forget who they are and what they look like. 25 However\, it is possible to open your eyes and take in the beautiful\, perfect truth found in God’s law of liberty and live by it. If you pursue that path and actually do what God has commanded\, then you will avoid the many distractions that lead to an amnesia of all true things and you will be blessed. (TVT) \nYou want the cleansing and correction of the word\, not for you to feel bad. You want to be cleansed to get excited. You can\, finally\, get off the roller coaster of saying one thing and really thinking and doing something else. You can stop trying to live a life you’ve said was you and falling short. You can stop appearing to be a liar or just duplicitous.  \nMatthew 5:37 A simple ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ will suffice. Anything beyond this springs from a deceiver. (TPT) \nYou can simply be who you are. You can say\, “love me or hate me\, take me or leave me.” Then you can let God do what He had already planned to do in you. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather God\, I am grateful You are omniscient. You see right through me into my heart. I repent for not acknowledging my need for You to show me what’s there\, as well as what’s not there every day. As long as I try to make myself into something I’m not and change myself to be someone other than who You created me to be\, I am a target. Help me not to function in such a place of insecurity that I am fodder for the enemy. Help me embrace who I am\, all of who I am. Your word says I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I have to believe it. I don’t have to re-create an image of myself in order to please someone or make myself fit in. I can just be me and allow You to shape me like clay on a potter’s wheel. I’m sorry for tampering with Your creation. I thank You for cleaning up the mess I’ve made. DESCRIPTION:Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart\, that I might not sin against thee. (KJV) \nHave you hidden the word in your heart? \nYou may attend church “religiously.” You may also participate in Bible study every Wednesday or Thursday or whichever day the ministry/church has it. However\, that is not enough. You also have the responsibility to store the word in your heart. Read the Bible for yourself. When you read\, seek God for revelation. When you get revelation\, make sure your actions and your attitude line up with what you read and what God has revealed. It is your responsibility to use the word as a guide. You don’t want to commit acts of sin because you don’t know better. The word will help you distinguish between sins of commission and sins of omission. In the world there is a saying\, “ignorance of the law is no defense.” The same is true with the Father. There is no reason for you not to know. The word is there\, read it\, understand it and apply it. \n1 John 2:24-27 So you must be sure to keep the message burning in your hearts; that is\, the message of life you heard from the beginning. If you do\, you will always be living in close fellowship with the Son and with the Father. 25 And he himself has promised us the never-ending life of the ages to come! 26 I’ve written these things about those who are attempting to lead you astray. 27 But the wonderful anointing you have received from God is so much greater than their deception and now lives in you. There’s no need for anyone to keep teaching you. His anointing teaches you all that you need to know\, for it will lead you into truth\, not a counterfeit. So just as the anointing has taught you\, remain in him. (TPT) \nThe Father loves you too much to leave you at the whims of someone else\, even if they mean well. He will teach you Himself if you allow Him to; if you submit to Him; and if you will spend time with Him and in His word. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, in the name of Jesus\, please draw me closer to You. As I carve out time for our communion\, I ask You speak to my heart\, show me Your word and give me revelation knowledge. I want to understand You more\, then I can live a life that is pleasing to You. I know I have to store the word in my heart. It will not happen accidentally. I repent for not making it a greater priority sooner. Each day as I study\, I will hide Your word in my heart. It is not enough to be knowledgeable of the enemy’s devices; I also have to know Your word. DESCRIPTION:Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD\, and thy thoughts shall be established. (KJV) \nAre you discouraged and disappointed? \nIf you’ve ever dealt with a teenager or a young adult\, you know they feel like they have all the answers. They want you to support their choices and decisions\, whether or not you believe they are good ones. They even want you to turn their terrible choice into something usable when they discover it was a terrible choice. If you are unwilling to accommodate them\, they feel discouraged and disappointed. You don’t want to take the same position with the Father. It does not matter what your plans may be. The warfare you are in requires you to submit your life to the Father. Do you quote Proverbs 3:5-7 regularly?  \nProverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the Lord with all your heart\, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him\, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; \nFear the Lord and depart from evil. (NKJV) \nDo you actually acknowledge God in all your ways? Are there things you run headlong into without pause and then expect God to give you “your” expected end? Do you get discouraged when things don’t turn out the way you planned? Though it may have seemed like a good idea\, at the time\, quite possibly it was not a “God” idea. You want to submit yourself\, your thoughts\, and your ideas to the Father. Here is the better thing: you also want Him to say no when it is not what He wants for your life. Most importantly\, you want to be excited when He says no\, not disappointed or discouraged. You do not know what He saved you from or what better plans He has for you. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, in the name of Jesus\, I recognize I am in a war. I understand\, though You have already gotten the victory\, I must walk out the path You have set for my life. Please forgive me for not taking full advantage of the provision Jesus bought for me. He made it possible for me to be an overcomer because of the authority and power given to me because I am saved. All I have to do is allow You to show me Your plan for my life and accept it. Father\, I know I shouldn’t create plans\, without You\, and expect You to bless them. I recognize my destiny rests in You. You have all knowledge. You have already worked out the plan for my life. I must come to You. I must seek You. I have to wait on and rest in You. Help me live my life Your way\, every day. I will be the person You created me to be and walk in joy like I have never done before.
