SUMMARY:Luke 21:36
DESCRIPTION:Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore\, and pray always\, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass\, and to stand before the Son of man. (KJV) \nWill you be ready? \nThe Bible encourages\, admonishes\, and commands you to be ready at all times. You can read the signs of the times that speak of Jesus’ return\, just like the disciples could.  \n1 Thessalonians 5:4 But you\, believers\, [all you who believe in Christ as Savior and acknowledge Him as God’s Son] are not in spiritual darkness [nor held by its power]\, that the day [of judgment] would overtake you [by surprise] like a thief. (Amplified Bible\, AMP) \nYou should be aware of what is going on around you. However\, you should not lose sight of your assignment. If you are not careful\, you can get entangled with life and all of its affairs. You can spend such an enormous amount of time fighting in the natural. Which means you will spend less and less time in the presence of the Lord\, where you learn to fight in the spirit.  \n2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier in active service gets entangled in the [ordinary business] affairs of civilian life; [he avoids them] so that he may please the one who enlisted him to serve. (Amplified Bible\, AMP) \nThere are some additional affects to being concerned with the affairs of life. You pray less\, only when it is convenient\, and/or when you are in distress. You use church as your Bible study\, worship time\, praise time\, etc. because you have convinced yourself you don’t have any other time available. Your goals\, your job\, and what you want to accomplish in life become your priority. \nMark 4:19 Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age\, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches\, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word\, and it becomes fruitless. (AMPC) \nIf this is a description of your current walk\, you will not be ready. There is nothing wrong with discerning the times. However\, don’t just look at what is going on around you. Look at what is going on within you. \n2 Corinthians 13:5 Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence\, not mere hearsay\, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test\, do something about it. (MSG) \nBe diligent in your pursuit of God. Then you will know\, with assurance\, you will be ready when Christ returns. The world would like to convince you all you believe is a myth. Do you want to still be here after the rapture? \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I want to be ready when Jesus returns. I know He is soon to return because I look at the things happening every day. While looking at the world\, I also take time to look at my life. I ask myself what I have accomplished. I tell myself it is natural for me to set personal goals that I want to achieve and be proud of. I repent for those times when my desire to fulfill my personal goals caused me to risk not fulfilling Your spiritual ones. I am sorry I was not spending enough time; I was not spending dedicated time; and I was not spending consecrated time with You. I don’t want to fit You in or talk to You whenever I get a chance. That is a dangerous way to live. I will set aside time to be in Your presence. I will set aside time to study Your word. I want You to count me worthy. You reward the diligent. I will be diligent in seeking You. I want to hear You and know it’s You speaking\, because we have a relationship. Thank You for the command. Help me heed it… \n\nAsk the lord what he wants to say to you about today’s devotional and journal it here:

SUMMARY:Ephesians 6:11
DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God\, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (KJV) \nAre you in your foxhole? \nA foxhole is a Defensive Fighting Position (DFP) used by the military when soldiers are at war. The DFP serves as protection when attacking and being attacked. Developing and maintaining the DFP is a constant and ongoing task for soldiers deployed in combat areas. The soldiers don’t take off their gear and only put it on when they hear gunfire. They wear it constantly until they are no longer in the foxhole.  \nAs a believer\, you should have the same way of living. You will be in a DFP until Jesus returns. You are to develop and maintain your armor. There is no time to “lay your religion to the side”\, no time to take it off and put it back on for whatever reason you think you should. You put it on\, and it stays on. As God’s servant\, a soldier in His army\, you are to remain in the foxhole. Let’s use 2 Corinthians 6:4-10 (The Passion Translation TPT) to identify what that means. \n\nYou don’t lose courage in a time of stress and calamity. \nYou stand when beaten by life\, imprisoned by your fears and struggles\, and during the battles you fight in your mind.\nYou endure many troubles\, sleepless nights\, and even hunger. \nYou prove yourselves by your lifestyle of purity\, by your spiritual insight\, by your patience\, and by showing kindness. \nYou have uncritical love. \nYou make yourself known because of your truthful teachings\, validated by the power of God working through you.\nYou wear the whole armor of God and use the mighty weapons of righteousness—a sword in one hand and a shield in the other. \nYou remain steadfast and true whether honored or dishonored\, slandered or praised\, called deceitful or honest\, and recognized as a Christian or an imposter.\nYou are an unknown whom everyone knows. \nYou are frequently at death’s door\, yet you are still alive.\nYou have been severely punished yet not executed. \nYou may suffer\, yet in every season\, they always find you rejoicing. \nYou may be poor\, yet you give great riches to many. \nYou seem to have nothing\, yet in reality you possess all things.\n\n  \nAlways remember\, you are in the foxhole because the devil is unrelenting and your part in the spiritual war does not end until Jesus returns. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I know I have said many times\, “the enemy is always on his job”. I have often followed that comment with\, “we’re not always on our job”. I repent for every time I was not on my job. I want to be on the job\, period. I don’t want You to grant me leave\, furlough\, or time off. I certainly don’t want to be discharged. I don’t want my armor to be something I take off and put on\, depending on what’s going on in my life. I want to live in it. Thank You for the revelation that I am in a foxhole. I am fully armed\, at all times\, completely ready for whatever the next situation is. The enemy will not catch me unaware. Being in a defensive fighting position gives me the ability to see the enemy from afar off. Then\, I can use the strategy You have given me. Having on my armor gives me the ability to stop him or prevent him from doing any permanent damage. I know what to do and I can be victorious. Thank You… \n \nAsk the lord what he wants to say to you about today’s devotional and journal it here:
