DESCRIPTION:1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith\, lay hold on eternal life\, whereunto thou art also called\, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (KJV) \nAre you living in God’s will for your life? \nAbraham demonstrated faith because he was willing to sacrifice his son. Do you think this is a choice he would have made on his own? Look at some of his choices. His choice was to lie and tell the king that his wife was his sister (Genesis 20:2). His choice was to take Lot when God called him to go alone (Genesis 12:1-4). Based on those choices\, do you think he would have chosen to kill Isaac? Not to throw shade\, just making a point. One is the will of God\, and the others are not. When you walk in the will of God\, you have His provision and protection. \nPsalm 1:1-3 What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! He won’t walk in step with the wicked\,    nor share the sinner’s way\, nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat. 2 His passion is to remain true to the Word of “I AM\,” meditating day and night on the true revelation of light. 3 He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design\, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss\, bearing fruit in every season of life. He is never dry\, never fainting\, ever blessed\, ever prosperous. (TPT) \nOtherwise\, you make your own decisions and attach God’s name to them. What you are really doing is creating a mess for Him to clean up. \nProverbs 14:12 You can rationalize it all you want and justify the path of error you have chosen\, but you’ll find out in the end that you took the road to destruction. (TPT) \nYou need faith to walk in the will of God. Faith will cause you to believe God and wait for His decisions and plan. \nHebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation\, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for\, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. (AMPC) \nFaith will cause God to count you as righteous. \nJames 2:23 And [so] the Scripture was fulfilled that says\, Abraham believed in (adhered to\, trusted in\, and relied on) God\, and this was accounted to him as righteousness (as conformity to God’s will in thought and deed)\, and he was called God’s friend. (AMPC) \nAs God’s plan unfolds in your life\, only God can complete it. You don’t have the power on your own. \nPhilippians 1:6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing\, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return]\, developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. (AMPC) \nEvery day of your life can be a testimony to the will of God. Though it may not always be comfortable\, it will always be blessed. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I remember\, coming across the words “the permissive will of God”\, as I was growing in my understanding of You. I thought that was the most valuable revelation I could have gotten. I repent for using those words to convince myself and justify my choices. I actually thought those words meant I was walking in a lesser form of Your will and it was alright because it was still Your will. You showed me it was not that simple. Thank You for growing me up. Thank You for an even deeper revelation and understanding. I don’t want to justify my behavior by calling it Your permissive will. That is just a religious way of saying I did what I wanted and expected or hoped You would stop me or bless what I was doing. You gave me free will\, and I can choose. You want my service\, my obedience and my worship to be my choice. As I have walked along this journey\, I can honestly say I want Your will for my life to be done; that was not always the case. I submit; not because You force me to. I submit because I choose to. The Lord says this to you: ‘Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude\, for the battle is not yours\, but God’s. 17 You need not fight in this battle; take your positions\, stand and witness the salvation of the Lord who is with you\, O Judah and Jerusalem. He tried it and failed. \nRomans 8:35\,37-39 Who could ever divorce us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles\, pressures\, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, as I take stock of the things I have experienced throughout my life\, I thank You. I give You praise and glory. I repent for those times when I listened to the enemy\, when he tried to convince me\, he could steal what You destined for my life. Also\, when he tried to convince me to give up on Your love for me\, by telling me I was not lovable and not worthy. And when he tried to cause me to waiver in my faith in Your power to deliver me. You were my God then and You are my God\, now. You held me in Your arms and sustained me. Thank You. Now I know You carry me. You protect me from the enemy and You protect me from myself. You taught me there is nothing the enemy can take from me; I have to give it to him. I have to allow him to have what he was trying to get. DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (KJV) \nAre you testifying to the power of God? \nAgnostics claim either it is not possible to have absolute or certain knowledge of God\, or they do not know of a supreme being. Atheists don’t believe in the Lord God or any other god. Sinners\, if they don’t fall into either of those two categories\, simply have not yet come to know the Lord for themselves. What do all three have in common? They are all perishing. \n2 Corinthians 4:3-4 But even if our Gospel (the glad tidings) also be hidden (obscured and covered up with a veil that hinders the knowledge of God)\, it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing and obscured [only] to those who are spiritually dying and veiled [only] to those who are lost. 4 For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers’ minds [that they should not discern the truth]\, preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah)\, Who is the Image and Likeness of God. (AMPC) \nAs you live your life\, you may have the opportunity to witness to a person in one or all three categories. An agnostic is a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God. An atheist is a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God. For both of them\, if there were no God\, neither of them would have a definition for their lives. The existence of God gives their lives description and foundation. Tell her\, if there was no God\, there would be no need for her to profess what she does not believe or recognize as true. Let him know it is not a matter of what he thinks. It’s not a matter of how she feels\, nor what she can prove. It is a matter of faith. Explain to him\, he exercises faith all day\, every day. The only difference and benefit is with this leap of faith\, she gains the source of all knowledge and the love and power of God. \nJeremiah 33:3 Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things\, fenced in and hidden\, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize\, have knowledge of and understand). (AMPC) \nTo the unsaved\, remind him of the love and power of God which God provides through salvation. Tell her it is available\, right now. \nJohn 3:16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son\, so that whoever believes in (trusts in\, clings to\, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction\, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. (AMPC) \nAs you are talking\, the Holy Spirit will remind you it is the same love and power that transformed Jesus from the Son of God into the son of man. The same love and power that allowed Him to be crucified in order to take the keys to hell\, death\, and the grave. The same love and power that gave Jesus victory on the third day when He rose and set the captives free. The Holy Spirit is empowering you to give them your testimony. Tell her who you were\, what God did for you\, and who you are now. Tell him that same God is waiting to transform his life as well. \nMark 5:19 Stay here; I want you to go back home to your own people and let them see what the Lord has done—how He has had mercy on you. (TVT) \nJohn 4:39 Many from the Samaritan village became believers in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony: “He told me everything I ever did!” (TPT) \nThe transformation in your life acknowledges the power of God and gives place to their transformation as well. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, when I look at me\, I know You are the only God\, You are my God\, and my God is God. Only You could save me. Only You could transform me\, mind\, body\, and spirit. Only You\, God\, could create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit in me. I repent for passing on the opportunity to be a living testimony to the truth of Your existence and Your power. With each new chance You give me to witness\, please help me not to debate. Help me give my testimony simply\, and therefore\, powerfully. Help me tell who I once was\, how You changed me\, and who I am today. Help me talk about Your goodness\, Your mercy and Your lovingkindness. Because of his arrogance and because he did not give God the credit He was due; the king spent seven years living like a wild animal. That is not something you would want to happen to you; or has it already happened\, and you don’t realize it? Not physically\, because you would know that. However\, are you running around doing anything and everything you want to do without regard to how you are representing the Lord and without His anointing on you. \nJudges 16:20 She said\, The Philistines are upon you\, Samson! And he awoke out of his sleep and said\, I will go out as I have time after time and shake myself free. For Samson did not know that the Lord had departed from him. (AMPC) \nThere could very well be a powerful anointing on your life. You could walk in a demon-destroying\, sick-healing\, dead-raising anointing\, just like Jesus had. Make sure you give God the glory\, just as Jesus did. \nJohn 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father\, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles\, deeds of power). (AMPC) \nContinue to remind yourself it is not you; it is the Lord working through you. \nJohn 5:19 So Jesus answered them by saying\, I assure you\, most solemnly I tell you\, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His own accord); but He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing\, for whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way [in His turn]. (AMPC) \nPlease don’t start believing the news articles\, Facebook likes\, tweets and retweets about you. \nIsaiah 14:12 My\, how you’ve fallen from the heights of heaven! O morning star\, son of the dawn! What a star you were\, as you menaced and weakened the nations\, but now you’ve been cut down\, fallen to earth. (TVT) \nDon’t begin to honor the anointing and leave out the One who anoints. Nothing good will come of it. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I asked You to use me\, use me in Your service\, use me for Your glory\, use me in the midst of Your people. Thank You for challenging me. Thank You for requiring me to make sure my heart was pure\, and my motive was to bring You glory. You told me a self-serving motive would cause me to end up like King Nebuchadnezzar. You told me how the enemy would try to convince me the anointing on my life is mine. You reminded me of the times when people would thank me and clap. The most important thing You told me was I have to remain humble and rooted in You. If I do\, the accolades and gratitude will not change me. I repent for saying I could never do what the King did. Instead\, I want to believe I wouldn’t. What I will ask is that You keep me close to You\, and I will always acknowledge You and give You the credit that is Yours already. I will tell the world that I thank You and they should thank You\, not me\, for loving them enough to send a song that inspired them. I will to tell the world to praise You\, not me\, for sending a word that brought correction and encouragement. Every kind word you speak\, every sacrifice you make\, is important. \n“For the want of a nail the shoe was lost\, \nFor the want of a shoe the horse was lost\, \nFor the want of a horse the rider was lost\, \nFor the want of a rider the battle was lost\, \nFor the want of a battle the kingdom was lost\, \n                                    And all for the want of a horseshoe-nail.”  \n(For Want of a Nail\, Benjamin Franklin)  \nDon’t down play your importance in the kingdom and the difference you make. \n\nYou make a difference because you are in the world and the world needs to know what to believe. You preach the gospel with your life.\n\nRomans 10:14 But how can people call on him for help if they’ve not yet believed? And how can they believe in one they’ve not yet heard of? And how can they hear the message of life if there is no one there to proclaim it? (TPT) \n\nYou make a difference because you are making disciples of those who watch what you do and why you do it.\n\nMatthew 28:19a Go\, then\, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples. (GNT) \n\nYou make a difference because people look at you to know who God is\, who Jesus is\, what God wants etc.\, and they find Him.\n\nMatthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy\, noble\, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. (AMPC) \n\nYou make a difference because you worship Christ as Lord of your life and you are always ready to explain if someone asks about your hope as a believer.\n\n1 Peter 3:15  But in your hearts set Christ apart [as holy—acknowledging Him\, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you\, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect. (AMP) \n\nYou make a difference because you represent God by working to reconciling people to Him.\n\n2 Corinthians 5:20 We are ambassadors of the Anointed One who carry the message of Christ to the world\, as though God were tenderly pleading with them directly through our lips. So we tenderly plead with you on Christ’s behalf\, “Turn back to God and be reconciled to him.” (TPT) \nIt is typical for you to think that it is only those in Christian leadership preach the word of God. Most people do. However\, you are a critical component in God’s desire for all to be saved. \n1 Timothy 2:4 It is God\, who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth. (AMPC\, edited) \nPlease know\, you and all you do; your successes and what you think are your failures are important in the kingdom. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather God\, thank You for touching my heart. Thank You for letting me know any work You call me to do is important. I repent for minimizing or even dismissing my assignment. Comparison is a trap of the enemy. It is a very effective tool that he has used against me more than once. I am so sorry he has also got what he wanted more than once. I repent for comparing what You called me to do with what someone else was doing and how they were doing it. I don’t want to miss the opportunity to serve You. Whether the service is for a small matter or a large one; I want to take advantage of every opportunity to be used by You. It is not about all the lives I might touch. It’s about that one life. I often think about Billy Graham. I don’t know the name of the person who witnessed to him. He may not have realized\, at the time\, the magnitude of the impact he was making on the Kingdom. He was changing the life of someone who would change the lives of thousands upon thousands of people. What if he had decided it doesn’t matter if he shared the gospel  or not? (TMB) \nWho are you? \nIn the movie “300”\, the fathers\, grandfathers and great-grandfathers reared the Spartan boys to be warriors from birth. They ate\, drank and slept battle. They taught them battle like you would teach your child to walk\, think\, and live. King Leonidas was preparing to go to war. His friend\, Daxos\, came to support him in the battle. This is the script from the scene. \nDaxos says\, “ I see I was wrong to expect Sparta’s commitment to at least match our own”. \nKing Leonidas replied\, “Doesn’t it?” He points to an Arcadian soldier behind Daxos and says\, “You there. (AMPC) \n\nGod knew you would need redemption.\n\nRomans 7:21-24  Through my experience of this principle\, I discover that even when I want to do good\, evil is ready to sabotage me. 22 Truly\, deep within my true identity\, I love to do what pleases God. 23 But I discern another power operating in my humanity\, waging a war against the moral principles of my conscience and bringing me into captivity as a prisoner to the “law” of sin—this unwelcome intruder in my humanity. 24 What an agonizing situation I am in! So who has the power to rescue this miserable man from the unwelcome intruder of sin and death? (TPT) \n\nGod made the provision for your salvation through Jesus\, His son.\n\nRomans 8:3 For what the Law could not do [that is\, overcome sin and remove its penalty\, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man’s nature without the Holy Spirit]\, God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son]. (AMP) \n\nGod established a Passover forever more. Jesus’ death covered you in His blood just as they placed blood on the doorposts in Egypt.\n\nRomans 3:25 Whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [life-giving] sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation (propitiation) by His blood [to be received] through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness [which demands punishment for sin]\, because in His forbearance [His deliberate restraint] He passed over the sins previously committed [before Jesus’ crucifixion] without punishment. (AMP\, edited) \nYou are not a teacher\, doctor\, lawyer\, homemaker\, preacher\, minister\, prophet\, etc. who also happens to be a Christian. You are a child of God who uses your profession as teacher\, doctor\, lawyer\, homemaker\, preacher\, minister\, prophet\, etc. to glorify God! HOO-RAH!!! \n1 Timothy 6:12 So fight with faith for the winner’s prize! Lay your hands upon eternal life\, to which you were called and about which you made the good confession before the multitude of witnesses! (TPT) \nYou are a soldier in the army of the Lord. \nIsaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace\, righteousness\, security\, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord\, And this is their vindication from Me\,” (declares) says the Lord. (NKJV) \nUnfortunately\, that behavior still exists today. There are those who use their position\, charisma\, cunning and even authority to manipulate brothers and sisters in the faith into giving. They orchestrate fifty-dollar lines\, one hundred-dollar lines\, prophesies for special people only\, etc. God loves a cheerful giver\, not one tricked\, coerced or berated into giving. \n2 Corinthians 9:7 Let giving flow from your heart\, not from a sense of religious duty. Let it spring up freely from the joy of giving—all because God loves hilarious generosity! (TPT) \nGod loves and will provide for the giver whose heart is in his giving. This does not just apply to money. You should also give your time\, talent\, resources\, etc. to the kingdom; and you should do it cheerfully. \nProverbs 3:9-10 Glorify God with all your wealth\, honoring him with your firstfruits\, with every increase that comes to you. 10 Then every dimension of your life will overflow with blessings from an uncontainable source of inner joy! DESCRIPTION:1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. (KJV) \nDo you know what evil looks like? \nDo you know the things that fall into the category of evil? If not\, here is a list\, it is not all-encompassing. However\, it is a pretty good one: \nGalatians 5:19-21 The behavior of the self-life is obvious: Sexual immorality\, lustful thoughts\, pornography\, 20 chasing after things instead of God\, manipulating others\, hatred of those who get in your way\, senseless arguments\, resentment when others are favored\, temper tantrums\, angry quarrels\, only thinking of yourself\, being in love with your own opinions\, 21 being envious of the blessings of others\, murder\, uncontrolled addictions\, wild parties\, and all other similar behavior. Haven’t I already warned you that those who use their “freedom” for these things will not inherit the kingdom realm of God! (TPT) \nThe thing is\, you have to be on the lookout because sometimes evil is not as obvious as you might think. Evil does not always look the way we think “evil” should look. \nProverbs 14:12-13 There’s a way of life that looks harmless enough; look again—it leads straight to hell. Sure\, those people appear to be having a good time\, but all that laughter will end in heartbreak. (MSG) \nThe movie “Needful Things” tells the story of a shop that opened in a small\, picture-perfect town. The proprietor always seemed to have an item in stock that was perfectly suited to any customer who came through his doors. The thing is\, the item was not just a want. Somehow it was a “need”. It was something the customer believed he or she could not live without. They would do anything to get the item they “needed.” The prices were negotiable\, because money was not the only currency used. The proprietor would choose someone the customer would have to play a “trick” on and/or allow the customer to trade favors. The proprietor somehow knew about the long-standing desires\, private grudges\, arguments\, and feuds between the various townspeople. The pranks were his means of forcing them to escalate until the whole town was eventually caught up in madness and violence. \nThe movie was extreme in its delivery\, but the Lord was and is still speaking. Do you understand the difference between a need and a want? What is a need? A need is something that is necessary for the survival\, urgency\, life or death outcome. Emergency should come to mind. \nActs 17:27-28 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him\, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said\, ‘We are his offspring.’ (NIV) \nWhat is a want? A want is something that you wish for and/or desire. The desire can be really intense and you may even feel you will die if you don’t get it. However\, will you die if you don’t get it? The answer is no. \nJames 4:2-3 You want your own way\, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. You lust for what you don’t have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn’t yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it. 2-3 You wouldn’t think of just asking God for it\, would you? And why not? Because you know you’d be asking for what you have no right to. You’re spoiled children\, each wanting your own way. \nWhen you don’t know the difference between what you want and what you need\, you are a target for the adversary. The devil always pays up front; he just holds back the consequences until you are all-in. Your relationship with the Father gives you the edge you need to resist the devil and he will flee. \nPsalm 37:4-5 Delight yourself also in the Lord\, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord\, Trust also in Him\, And He shall bring it to pass. (NKJV) \nKeep these concepts in mind. First\, you have to delight yourself in the Lord. Make Him your joy\, your delight\, and your true pleasure. Then He is free to give you the desires of your heart. He will tell you what to desire. You don’t have the wisdom to know. This is where you confuse what you want with what you need. However\, He knows. Finally\, don’t meddle in the situation. Don’t try to help God work it out. He will bring it to pass. \nJames 4:7 So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. (AMP) \nMake sure you don’t miss the appearance of evil. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, first thank You for being my God\, my covering\, my keeper\, and my deliverer. I repent for all the times in my life when I chose what I thought something was a good thing\, when really it wasn’t. I know every one of those times; I made the choice without acknowledging You first. I will no longer give You a quick prayer. I will inquire of You. I will sit at Your feet and wait for Your leading. I have to suffer the fall-out for my actions and own my part in it. There are consequences when I don’t seek You. There are consequences when I don’t acknowledge You in all my choices. Sometimes I am confident about the decision I am about to make and I get through it untarnished. A good deal of the time\, I don’t. I am getting rid of the times when I take risks by using my intelligence and gut instincts; I will use spiritual discernment. What I hear will not sway me; whether it is the enemy whispering\, any other person speaking\, or my thoughts someone. DESCRIPTION:1 Peter 1:22 You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth\, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart. (NLT) \nWhat kind of love do you have? \nJohn 3:16 For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only\, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. (TPT) \nLove is a word that is passed around as often as the word friend. Often people use it because it is soft and sounds nice\, not because it is true. Sometimes it simply a warmer way of saying\, “I think you are nice.” Often  used instead of saying “thank you”\, for a kindness that is exchanged between two people. Family members\, both close and distant\, say it. As you progress in the things of God\, you learn there the difference in the love you will display when referring to your interpersonal relationships. Growing in God should also give you the liberty to change the way you love. Here are some examples of love. \n\nEros—Romantic Love.\n\nEros is an intense sexual desire for someone. Usually\, it is so passionate and overwhelming that the Greeks often thought it would cause someone to lose control of their words or actions. Today\, we might call it lust. Samson slept with harlots (Judges 16:1)\, Samson met Delilah (Judges 16)\, King David toward Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11). \nEzekiel 23:20a “She was filled with lust for oversexed men.” (GNT) \n\nPhilia—Affectionate Love.\n\nAll love is affectionate in some manner\, but philia love is one that doesn’t involve any passion or sexual impulse. It’s more like love between good friends or goodwill between you and someone you respect or admire. \n1 John 3:16\,18  By this we know love because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 18 My little children\, let us not love in word or in tongue\, but in deed and in truth. (NKJV) \n\nStorge—Familiar Love.\n\nThough people confuse storge with philia (love among friends)\, it has more to do with the love a family feels for each other. It is most recognized as the love a parent has for his or her child. It’s a powerful bond that is not easily broken. \nMark 5:23 He pleaded with Jesus\, saying over and over\, “Please come with me! My little daughter is at the point of death\, and she’s only twelve years old! Come and lay your hands on her and heal her and she will live!” (TPT) \n\nPragma—Enduring Love.\n\nThose married for a while know that there comes a time when the honeymoon is over. The eros you both had has added to it storge and philia and life goes merrily along. However\, if you last long enough\, eventually you have pragma\, an enduring love. It is love that stands the test of time. It’s the kind of love a husband and wife have after fifty years of marriage\, and they still want to kiss and hold hands. As the opposite of eros\, where the passion burns white hot and fades quickly\, pragma  matures and grows over time into something truly special. Abraham was 50 and Sarah was 40 when they got married. They were married for 77 years when Sarah died. \nGenesis 23:2 So Sarah died in Kirjath Arba (that is\, Hebron) in the land of Canaan\, and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her. (NKJV) \n\nPhilautia—Self-Love/Care.\n\nYou learned the dangers of ego on September 20 and October 23. However\, philautia love refers to a healthy self-esteem. It is your emotional appraisal of your own worth\, how you think\, feel\, and act. It also reflects and determines how you relate to yourself\, to others\, and to the world. You can also think of philautia as how you take care of yourself\, in that you try to eat healthy food\, get enough sleep\, and exercise. If you don’t care for yourself\, you won’t have philautia. \nDaniel 1:8\, 12-13\, 15\, 17 But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile (taint\, dishonor) himself with the king’s finest food or with the wine which the king drank; so he asked the commander of the officials that he might [be excused so that he would] not defile himself. 12 “Please\, test your servants for ten days\, and let us be given some vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then let our appearance and the appearance of the young men who eat the king’s finest food be observed and compared by you\, and deal with your servants in accordance with what you see.” 15 At the end of ten days it seemed that they were looking better and healthier than all the young men who ate the king’s finest food. 17 As for these four young men\, God gave them knowledge and skill in all kinds of literature and wisdom; Daniel also understood all kinds of visions and dreams. (AMP) \n\nLudas—Playful Love.\n\nIf you’ve ever been in love\, you have no doubt felt ludas . It’s the butterflies in your stomach\, the quickened heartbeat\, the anxiety you feel when you’re waiting for your love interest to walk through the door. It’s the flirting and teasing and playing you do in the early stages of dating. The focus is usually more on fun rather than building a relationship. \nSong of Solomon 1:4a “Draw me away with you and let us run together!” (AMP) \n\nAgape—Unconditional Love.\n\nAgape love is by far the most special\, most respectful of all the types of love. It is the kind Jesus refers to again and again throughout His ministry and is the one the Christian faith encompasses. Agape love is a universal\, unconditional\, selfless love for others. It involves being altruistic and caring more for others than for yourself. Jesus perfectly exemplified agape love when He died on the cross to save us from sin and death. He suffered so He could set us free. \nRomans 5:8 But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly! (TPT) \nMatthew 22:37-39 Jesus answered him\, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart\, with all the energy of your being\, and with every thought that is within you.’ 38 This is the great and supreme commandment. 39 And the second is like it in importance: ‘You must love your friend in the same way you love yourself.’ (TPT) \nThe love God requires of you is agape love. The love He has for you represents it. It does not change depending on the person. It is sacrificial. Love is caring in action. Love isn’t what we feel\, it’s what we do. \n1 Corinthians 13:4-8a Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself\, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely\, does not seek its own\, is not provoked\, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity\, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things\, believes all things\, hopes all things\, endures all things. Love never fails. (NKJV) \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for Your love. I repent for not loving the same way You do at all times. I am often overwhelmed at the magnitude of Your love. It is unconditional; thank You that there are no strings attached\, no hoops to jump through. I have never had to and will never have to work for Your love. Though You have expectations for me\, You continue to love me even when I don’t fulfill them. It is not an easy to love Your way and completely impossible without You. Yet\, I know I can do it if I take myself out of the equation. I have to allow Your love to flow through me. When I do\, I can expect to help someone else experience Your love. My only goal is to be submitted to You to the extent You can and will use me to show Your love. It is more than turning the other cheek. It is stepping into a completely different place where my actions can transform a person’s life. It is being a conduit where someone can come in contact with genuine love. (TMB) \nHow are you making your choices? \nSome sources suggest that the average person makes 35\,000 choices per day. Let’s break this down. If you sleep the recommended eight hours per day\, that means you make 2\,187.5 decisions per hour\, approximately 36.5 decisions per minute\, and roughly .6 decisions every second. What happens when you make decisions in your daily life based on how you feel\, whether they are good or bad? \n2 Corinthians 1:17 Was I vacillating when I wanted to do this? Do I make my plans according to the flesh\, ready to say “Yes\, yes” and “No\, no” at the same time? (ESV) \nHow does that compare to the times when you make your decision based on the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit? \nColossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. (AMP) \nWhen you are emotional\, you don’t think about why you are making the choice\, you just do what you want. Also\, emotional decisions rob you of the time you need to take to reflect on how your choice will affect you and/or others\, both in the decision moment and in the future. When you make an emotional decision\, you don’t want to be questioned. Why? Because you know you don’t have a God-ordained or prudent reason for the choice. When you let your flesh dictate your choices\, you fail to acknowledge God and often you make a mess. \nProverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean and innocent in his own eyes [and he may see nothing wrong with his actions]\, But the Lord weighs and examines the motives and intents [of the heart and knows the truth]. (AMP) \nAlways step away from the situation in order for God to center you and guide you. \nProverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord completely\, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you\, and he will lead you in every decision you make. 6 Become intimate with him in whatever you do\, and he will lead you wherever you go. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather God\, though it is easy to make a decision when I am emotional\, I know I shouldn’t. I repent for the times when I tried to justify the decisions I made because I just didn’t want to admit I made the wrong one. Though You have grown me up to an almost unrecognizable place\, I know there is still much more for You to do. I realize emotional decisions can be negative as well as positive. They are negative when fueled by anger and/or pain. They are positive when influenced by excitement\, happiness\, and even love. Either way\, an emotional decision is not Your best for me. If I do not submit my decisions to You first; I will not make decisions that will please and honor You\, the ones You want me to make. I want Your peace to abide within me. Then Your presence will be evident in the choices I make; in the words I speak and the actions I take. DESCRIPTION:Colossians 2:20 If it is true that you were included in Christ’s death\, then the religious systems of this world with its rules and regulations no longer apply to you. What further relevance would there be for you to continue to live under the influence of man’s doctrines and ideas? (TMB) \nAre you religious or spiritual? \nTo be religious is to adhere to a fundamental set of beliefs and practices\, no matter what. Sometimes you don’t even know why you are complying. Often\, these beliefs involve devotional and ritual observances. They can also contain a moral code governing the conduct of your life. The strict adherence to the code can produce a feeling of bondage. When you do things simply to keep traditions or earn favor\, you are living like a Pharisee and not walking in the freedom. Religion is the law\, and it kills. Being spiritual requires the manifestation of the Spirit of God and that brings life (2 Corinthians 3:6). \n\nIf you are religious\, you blindly follow rituals and formality.\n\n\nIf you are spiritual\, you want guidance gained by communion with the Father.\n\nIsaiah 29:13 And the Lord said\, Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips but remove their hearts and minds far from Me\, and their fear and reverence for Me are a commandment of men that is learned by repetition [without any thought as to the meaning]. (AMPC) \n\nIf you are religious\, you submit to the demands of and yield complete control to man.\nIf you are spiritual\, you listen for and obey the voice of God.\n\nColossians 2:8-10 Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. They want to drag you off into endless arguments that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstitions of spirit beings. But that’s not the way of Christ. Everything of God gets expressed in him\, so you can see and hear him clearly. You don’t need a telescope\, a microscope\, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ\, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him\, that fullness comes together for you\, too. His power extends over everything. Allow the Spirit of the Lord to guide you. Remember\, the church is not just a place where you go; you are the church.  \n1 Peter 2:5 Come and be his “living stones” who are continually being assembled into a sanctuary for God. All you need is a place where you are free to exercise the liberty Jesus died for. Stand in liberty and worship the Father wherever you are. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. (KJV) \nDo you have reverential awe?  \nThere are people who you feel are prominent\, powerful\, famous\, etc. These people are not accessible to everyone. However\, they can affect your life either directly or indirectly because of the positions they hold. They design legislature\, regulate finance\, etc. In most cases\, you can’t even talk to them. If you get the chance to\, you feel honored and privileged. Know this: you serve the Almighty God.  \nRevelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega [the Beginning and the End]\,” says the Lord God\, “Who is [existing forever] and Who was [continually existing in the past] and Who is to come\, the Almighty [the Omnipotent\, the Ruler of all].” (AMP) \nHe created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). He breathed and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Do you have the same feeling of privilege and honor for Him when you talk with Him? Do you take into consideration Who He is? \n1 Timothy 1:17 Now to the King eternal\, immortal\, invisible\, to God who alone is wise\, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (NKJV) \nDo you understand His deity and reflect on your humanity? Your relationship with The Almighty even confused David\, who was a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22). \nPsalm 8:4 I can’t help but wonder why You care about mortals — sons and daughters of men—specks of dust floating about the cosmos. (TVT) \nDo you take Him for granted?  \nJohn 12:5 How could she pour out this vast amount of fine oil? Why didn’t she sell it? It is worth nearly a year’s wages; the money could have been given to the poor. (TVT) \nDo you treat Him like He owes you something? \nLuke 17:9-10 And after your servant has done everything you told him to do\, are you going to make a big deal about it and thank him? [I don’t think so!] 10 Now apply this situation to yourselves. When you’ve done everything I’m telling you to do\, just say\, “We’re servants\, unworthy of extra consideration or thanks; we’re just doing our duty.” (TVT) \nKeep in mind even though He is God\, He allows you to come boldly to His throne and talk to Him directly and immediately.  \nHebrews 4:16 Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is\, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear\, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing\, coming just at the right moment]. (AMP) \nYou don’t have to speak to His assistant first; Jesus’ death tore the veil.  \nEphesians 2:18 For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him]. Please keep in mind that He is the same God who opened up the earth and Korah and family were no more (Numbers 16:32). Not that you should have a scary fear of God\, just make sure you give God the esteem He is due. \nLeviticus 9:23-24 Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting\, and when they came out they blessed the people\, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord [the Shekinah cloud] appeared to all the people [as promised]. 24 Then fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the portions of fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it\, they shouted and fell face downward [in awe and worship]. DESCRIPTION:Psalms 99:5 Exalt ye the Lord our God\, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy. (KJV) \nAre you living like God acts like you? \nThe word anthropomorphism comes from two Greek words\, anthropos\, meaning “man\,” and morphe\, meaning “form.” In theological terms\, anthropomorphism is attributing human characteristics to the Almighty God. The Old and New Testaments describe God interacting with us by talking\, holding\, reaching\, feeling\, hearing\, etc. You understand and relate to God’s actions and emotions in human terms. However\, you have to be careful that you don’t go too far. Do you sometimes make the assumption you know what He is thinking because it is what you are thinking? Do you become anxious because you think He is going to “respond” to something you said or did like you would? What you have to remember is\, He is God.  \nNumbers 23:19 God is not a man\, that He should tell or act a lie\, neither the son of man\, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good? (AMPC) \nIf you humanize Him to the point that you treat Him as if human characteristics and thoughts limit Him\, you remove His deity. What that means is\, He is no longer omniscient\, omnipresent\, and omnipotent. Which also means His love\, kindness\, and mercy have boundaries. That is not the God your serve. You read the Bible\, taking into consideration that you do not have the capacity to understand all of who God is\, really. \nRomans 11:33-34 Oh\, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unfathomable (inscrutable\, unsearchable) are His judgments (His decisions)! And how untraceable (mysterious\, undiscoverable) are His ways (His methods\, His paths)!34 For who has known the mind of the Lord and who has understood His thoughts\, or who has [ever] been His counselor? (AMPC) \nYou probably think the way you respond to things is the right way to respond\, for the most part. You are not alone; most human beings do. Because of that\, you may also think\, given the same situation\, most people will act how you do. The danger comes when you think that is true for God as well. Don’t give God your personality. As much as anthropomorphisms help you relate to God\, you always have to remind yourself\, He is still God. \nIsaiah 55:8-9 For My thoughts are not your thoughts\, neither are your ways My ways\, says the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth\, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. (AMPC) \nPlease spend time with Him in worship and prayer\, then you will gain His perspective and find that it is not quite what yours is. What you do does not surprise Him; He is omniscient. He does not have to “step into” your disputes and debates over issues. He is there; He is omnipresent. Allow Him to manifest His involvement. You want to be connected to the Father and understand Him in order to live a life that honors Him. Acknowledge His power and His deity. Don’t humanize Him to where you remove His ability to help you. He made you in His image\, not the other way around.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, there have been times when I felt anxious because of incidents and experiences in my life. Often the anxiety came from an interaction having a different outcome than I had expected. Maybe I was misunderstood\, maybe I was misjudged\, maybe I said or did something that I should not have. Whatever happened\, the result caught me completely off guard. Then the torment would start. I would replay the encounter in my mind\, over and over\, to figure out what I should have done or what I should have said. I repent for every one of those times that I didn’t immediately come to You. You have shown me I did not come to You first because I had given You human characteristics. I decided I disappointed You. I decided I didn’t deserve to come to You because of what happened. I told myself You were mad at me. My God\, Thank You for being You and for not acting like human beings act. I repent for dishonoring You with the thought. Regardless of how I have been treated\, no matter what anyone said to me and/or about me; You don’t condemn. You convict. I needed to know the difference\, and You taught me. I will continue to remind myself\, You’re not like me nor any other person. I’m thankful because nothing in my life catches You off guard or by surprise. I’m most grateful because You use every circumstance and every situation in my life to teach me\, to equip me\, to grow me up and make me better. You learn from what you go through.  \nEphesians 3:19 [That you may really come] to know [practically\, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ\, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence\, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! (AMPC) \nThere may even be times when you may think you know what is going to happen based on something that happened in the past. It’s called being pragmatic. It is a helpful characteristic to have. However\, with all of your experience\, training\, and education\, you still don’t have the entire picture. Though you may be able to discern your situation\, there are still pieces of the puzzle you don’t have.  \n1 Corinthians 13:9-10 For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect)\, and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect). 10 But when the complete and perfect (total) comes\, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated\, void\, and superseded). (AMPC) \nWhen you worship\, you acknowledge the will\, purpose\, and plan of God. Worship shows God you recognize He is the only One who knows what to do. \n2 Chronicles 20:17 But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the LORD’s victory. He is with you\, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out there tomorrow\, for the LORD is with you! (New Living Translation  NLT)   \nDon’t fall into the devil’s trap of categorizing problems as small\, medium\, and large. If you do\, you may think you can solve the “small problems” where the solution seems simple by yourself. Submit all of them to Him and don’t take a step until you make sure you acknowledge God. \nJames 1:5 If you don’t have all the wisdom needed for this journey\, then all you have to do is ask God for it; and God will grant all that you need. He gives lavishly and never scolds you for asking. (TVT) \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I think a lot. I dissect and I analyze things. I study and I research. I draw on my experiences. Even in my diligence\, I know I cannot reach the conclusions You want. I repent for thinking that I could. I repent for only seeking You first when I thought I could not handle it on my own. I’m reminded of the passage of Scripture where Paul says he counts everything he has gained as dung. He only wants to know You. I have also learned that nothing I’ve ever accomplished or knowledge I’ve gained\, no training or experience\, matters at all. There is no way I can fix a problem because I don’t have all the pieces. There will always be something I will miss\, I will overlook\, or I wouldn’t even take into consideration. Now I have peace because I don’t have to fix anything. I can just come to You. You will help me understand or instruct me to wait on You. I will allow You to bring all the pieces together at the appointed time. I’m grateful because I trust You. (NKJV) \nRomans 5:8 But think about this: while we were wasting our lives in sin\, God revealed His powerful love to us in a tangible display—the Anointed One died for us. (TVT) \nIsn’t it wonderful to count the blessings you’ve receive from the Lord?  \nEphesians 1:3 Blessed be God\, the Father of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One\, who grants us every spiritual blessing in these heavenly realms where we live in the Anointed—not because of anything we have done\, but because of what He has done for us. I am sorry I never thought about setting aside time to talk to You about You\, and not about me. I am adding to the time I spend with You now and from now on. I will make sure I tell You that You are great. You are awesome. You are mighty. You created the world. You spoke and there was life. You created the magnificence of a body that can heal itself. Doctors and scientist are still unveiling Your work. You hear the prayers of every person on the planet. You know who is praying at any given time. You number the hairs on our heads. DESCRIPTION:Matthew 4:10 Then Jesus said to him\, Begone\, Satan! For it has been written\, You shall worship the Lord your God\, and Him alone shall you serve. (AMP) \nWill you end up standing next to a pile of ashes? \nWhat is the motivation behind the things you do?  \nPsalm 40:8 “I delight to fulfill your will\, my God\, for your living words are written upon the pages of my heart.” (TPT) \nThere is a comparison that is made in Christendom\, a “good idea” versus a “God idea”. It’s important to make the distinction. Sometimes your accomplishments may give you accolades and praise. They may even bless people. The key is the motivation behind it. Did you work to give God glory or to gain fame and fortune?  \nPhilippians 2:3 Be free from pride-filled opinions\, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts\, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves. (TPT) \nThe devil is good at hiding himself behind what seems to be good and making you think it must be good because of the response you get. Know whatever he gives you is not worth the price you will pay for it and it won’t last throughout eternity.  \n1 Corinthians 3:13-15 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it\, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon\, he shall receive a reward.15 If any man’s work shall be burned\, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (KJV)  \nDon’t give in to the desire for earthly fame\, fortune\, and power. It is a public recognition of the king. The celebration activities can last for weeks. The actual ceremony normally lasts for three hours or more. The coronation may include acts of homage by the new ruler’s subjects and also performing other ritual deeds of special significance to the particular nation. Coronations involve a great deal of pomp and circumstance. The God you serve is not just a king. He is The King of Kings.  \nRevelation 19:16 And there on His robe and on His thigh was written His name: King of kings and Lord of lords. (TVT) \nHave you held a coronation crowning your Lord and King? Have you made a public gesture to the Lord that lets Him know you submit to His kingship over your life? Maybe you think you accomplished that when you got baptized. To be clear baptism is a testament to what you believe\, not a vow to what you will do.   \nMark 16:16 He who has believed [in Me] and has been baptized will be saved [from the penalty of God’s wrath and judgment]; but he who has not believed will be condemned. (AMP) \nWhen God is your Lord and King\, words are not enough. \nLuke 6:46-47 Why do you call Me\, Lord\, Lord\, and do not [practice] what I tell you? 47 For everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words [in order to heed their teaching] and does them\, I will show you what he is like: (AMPC) \nIn your time of worship\, only you and God need to be there. God honors you with the privilege of access to Him. \nEphesians 2:13 But now [at this very moment] in Christ Jesus you who once were [so very] far away [from God] have been brought near by the blood of Christ. (AMP) \nShow Him your gratitude by paying homage. In the coronation\, you bow down not only physically; you bow spiritually.  \n1 Chronicles 29:20 Then David said to all the assembly\, “Bless the LORD your God.” And all the assembly blessed the LORD\, the God of their fathers\, and bowed their heads and paid homage to the LORD and to the king. The President and foreign dignitaries receive special homage. I repent because it did not occur to me; I should take the time to do that same thing for You. I should hold a coronation ceremony for You\, a remind myself of Your position as my Lord and King every day. I should continually bow down at Your throne in reverence\, giving You honor. There are many things I have done for so called “important people”. Nothing can compare to the things I should do for You. I can remember buying special outfits to go to events where these people were going to be. It’s the opportunity\, the excitement\, and the celebration that thrilled me. You deserve for me to have an attitude\, desire\, and celebration for You that far exceeds what I would give to any human being. I know what I wear doesn’t impress You. What impresses You is the posture of my heart. I need to dress up my heart to come into Your presence. My heart has to be clean and free of junk because of Your splendor and majesty. He desires to find visible\, individual expression in your person. (TMB) \nAre you giving reasonable worship? \nWhat is worship? What exactly did God create you to do?  \nRomans 12:2 Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead\, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you\, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you\, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity\, God brings the best out of you\, develops well-formed maturity in you. (MSG) \nWorship is honor\, reverence and esteem\, in thought\, feeling\, and/or action. You are a triune being\, meaning you comprise mind\, body\, and spirit. Therefore\, you worship God: \n\nWith your mind\, all the thoughts and feelings you have should glorify Him.\n\nPhilippians 4:8-9 Finally\, brothers and sisters\, fill your minds with beauty and truth. Meditate on whatever is honorable\, whatever is right\, whatever is pure\, whatever is lovely\, whatever is good\, whatever is virtuous and praiseworthy. 9 Keep to the script: whatever you learned and received and heard and saw in me—do it—and the God of peace will walk with you. (TVT) \n\nWith your body\, physically you should honor Him. \n\nRomans 6:13 So then\, refuse to answer its call to surrender your body as a tool for wickedness. Instead\, passionately answer God’s call to keep yielding your body to him as one who has now experienced resurrection life! You live now for his pleasure\, ready to be used for his noble purpose. (TPT) \n\nWith your spirit\, originating from within; sincere and motivated by your love for Him. \n\nJohn 4:24 “God is Spirit\, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (NKJV) \nThat covers all of you. Worship is the presentation of all of you to the God who conceived you\, formed you and gave you life. This is why God created you. This is what God wants from you. The phrase “reasonable service” means “ that which conforms to the lógos .” It is more correctly defined as “spiritual service.”  \n1 Peter 2:4-5  So keep coming to him who is the Living Stone—though he was rejected and discarded by men but chosen by God and is priceless in God’s sight. 5 Come and be his “living stones” who are continually being assembled into a sanctuary for God. For now you serve as holy priests\, offering up spiritual sacrifices that he readily accepts through Jesus Christ. (TPT) \nYour worship leads you to offer yourself completely to do what God requires\, not only what makes sense to you. If you are unsure of God’s requirements\, you can find them in His word. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I spent a lot of years doing what I thought was my reasonable service and I repent. I hadn’t devoted enough time in Your presence to understand You wanted my spiritual service. I believe the service I gave was a blessing to You. However\, I did a great deal of what I did because of tradition. It was how my father raised me and what he taught me to do. I never really stopped to wonder if I was doing what You required or even what You destined me to do. Thank You for revelation. Now\, I understand not only do You want me to serve out of obedience to the authority in my life; You also want my mind\, my will\, my body\, and my love. You want me to think about You and have You at the center of my life\, at all times. You want my heart to be full of You\, and my actions to demonstrate who You are in my life. Your word says\, “For as he thinketh in his heart\, so is he”. I did a lot of things because I was mimicking my spiritual leaders and peers because they loved You. I thought it meant because I did them\, I was showing You I loved You too. Now I think about the things I do because I want to make sure I am being a blessing to You. Will You be pleased? DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 14:25 By witnessing the gift of the word of knowledge\, where something that could not be known in any other way comes to light\, the visitor will be struck with awe and acknowledge God in you and will yield himself to God in worship. (TMB) \nAre you allowing God to use you to show His power? \nAs a believer\, there is an expectation for God to manifest himself in the midst of His people. Just as He did in the days of old\, you want Him to do now. \n2 Chronicles 5:13b-14 And when they praised the Lord\, saying\, “For He is good\, for His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever\,” then the house of the Lord was filled with a cloud\, 14 so that the priests could not remain standing to minister because of the cloud; for the glory and brilliance of the Lord filled the house of God. (AMP) \nBeing unable to stand is one way you could respond to the presence of God. However\, there are other ways. One of which is prophecy.  \n2 Peter 1:21 No true prophecy comes from human initiative but is inspired by the moving of the Holy Spirit upon those who spoke the message that came from God. (TPT) \nI have you been in a service when the preacher or prophet called someone up and spoke to them about things only God could have told them. I watched and listened as the word affected and most probably changed the person’s life. Though I believe and trust God\, it was and is still an extraordinary experience. If you have had that experience\, I am sure you would agree with me. If you have not\, it is an experience you will not soon forget. What do you think would happen if someone who does not know God saw that happen? There is a story in John 4 about a woman at a well who had this very experience.  \nJohn 4:39 Meanwhile\, because one woman shared with her neighbors how Jesus exposed her past and present\, the village of Sychar was transformed—many Samaritans heard and believed. (TVT) \nWhen there are unbelievers in the midst\, the ability for the man or the woman of God to share something\, only God could have told them\, validates the truth of God.  \n1 Corinthians 14:3 But when someone prophesies\, he speaks to encourage people\, to build them up\, and to bring them comfort. (TPT) \nWorship is the natural response to the presence and the power of God. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I have been in worship services where Your presence was almost tangible; it rested like a thick blanket. I’ve seen men and women of God submit themselves to be used by You. You worked miracles in the lives of those who were there. I’ve also witnessed unbelievers come to know You are real because of what they saw. I repent for those times when I acted like a spectator and not a participator. Though the word was not being given to me\, the waters were stirred. I could have stepped in and received from You as well. Every time I see a miracle\, an extraordinary manifestation of Your power\, it reaffirms the awesome God I serve\, and it brings me into a place of worship. I don’t worship You because of the things You do. I worship You because You have the power to do them. SUMMARY:Hebrews 9:1
DESCRIPTION:Hebrews 9:1 Even that first covenant had rules and regulations about how to worship and how to set up an earthly sanctuary for God. (TVT) \nWhere do you worship? \nThe Old Covenant provided the commands for worship\, where they would worship\, what procedures they should follow\, and how they should follow them. However\, the policies and procedures they had did not give them personal or continual access. Only the high priest could approach God’s throne\, and then only once a year.  \nHebrews 9:7 And the high priest was permitted to enter into the Holiest Sanctuary of All only once a year and he could never enter without first offering sacrificial blood for both his own sins and for the sins of the people. (TPT) \nThe sacrificial rituals could not connect them to the Father in an authentic way. The people didn’t get it\, and they remained in slavery to sin. There was a need for a new way\, a new covenant. Jesus Christ was and is the message and the sacrifice of the New Covenant. \nHebrews 9:12\,15 With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever. 15 That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people\, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant. (AMP) \nThe Holy Spirit transforms the heart\, and eternal life is the promised inheritance. Worship is no longer confined to an earthly sanctuary.  \nJohn 4:21 Jesus saith unto her\, Woman\, believe me\, the hour cometh\, when ye shall neither in this mountain\, nor yet at Jerusalem\, worship the Father. (KJV) \nThe sanctuary where Jesus serves as the high priest\, and ever lives to make intercession for you\, is in heaven.  \nHebrews 9:24 For Christ (the Messiah) has not entered into a sanctuary made with [human] hands\, only a copy and pattern and type of the true one\, but [He has entered] into heaven itself\, now to appear in the [very] presence of God on our behalf. (AMPC) \nYou access the holy sanctuary through the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead\, which is also in you.  \nRomans 8:9 But you do not live in the flesh. You live in the Spirit\, assuming\, of course\, that the Spirit of God lives inside of you. The truth is that anyone who does not have the Spirit of the Anointed living within does not belong to God. (TVT) \nNow\, you take worship wherever you go. You do not confine worship to a particular place or a certain type of service. God seated you in the heavenly place with Christ. \nEphesians 2:6 He raised us up with Christ the exalted One\, and we ascended with him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm\, for we are now co-seated as one with Christ! (TPT) \nBecause of these truths\, don’t allow worship to only be what you do or where you do it. Desire worship to be who you are. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, there is a song that comes to my mind as I pray. Lord\, keep me day by day\, in a pure and perfect way. I want to live; I want to live on. In a building not made by hand. I have sung that song. At the time\, I did not really meditate on the meaning of the lyrics. It never occurred to me to meditate on them\, and I repent. As You were writing this devotional day through me\, You brought them back to my remembrance. DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 2:15 In a turbulent world where people are either dying or being rescued\, we are the sweet smell of the Anointed to God our Father. (TVT) \nWhat scent does your worship have? \nThere are terms like knockoff\, faux\, generic\, etc. These are words that are used to describe a product or emotions that look like the real thing and might be mistaken for the real thing. However\, the product or emotion is not authentic. The product usually has some defects and/or deficiencies. A person contrives the emotion to trick/mislead. What are some ways this happens? The manufacture makes a purse using cheaper materials. The smile is hiding rage. The fan belt broke because it was not durable. You pretend to be surprised\, when really you knew all along. The jacket does not have the feel of the real thing. You can turn the tears on and off on cue. You can also apply these examples to worship. \nMatthew 15:7-9 “Frauds and hypocrites! Isaiah described you perfectly when he said: 8 These people honor me only with their words\, for their hearts are so very distant from me. 9 They pretend to worship me\, but their worship is nothing more than the empty traditions of men.” (TPT) \nIs worship “what you do”\, lifting your hands at the right time? Being directed on when you should stand\, when you should run\, when you should cry. Is there deliverance and breakthrough in your worship? Or is worship just an activity you participate in for the emotional benefit? \n2 Timothy 3:5a For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion)\, they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. (AMPC) \nHave you come to the place in your relationship with Christ where worship is “who you are”?  \nPsalm 103:1 With my whole heart\, with my whole life\, and with my innermost being\, I bow in wonder and love before you\, the holy God! DESCRIPTION:Colossians 2:23 Religious tradition appears to be very devout and its followers seem to be so humble and holy in their strict observance of rules that seek to control the behavior of the body. The only problem with this is that the flesh is never permanently satisfied. (TMB)  \nIs tradition more important to you? \nThere are traditions that lay an amazing foundation for beginning your relationship with The Father. However\, your genuine relationship with God is spiritual\, not one driven by rules and regulations.  \nJohn 4:23-24 “But a time is coming and is already here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart\, the inner self] and in truth; for the Father seeks such people to be His worshipers. 24 God is spirit [the Source of life\, yet invisible to mankind]\, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (AMP) \nYou can wear a dress that touches your knees or wear pants instead; you can dress up in a suit and tie or wear shorts and flip-flops; you can wear makeup or not; you can go to the movies or not; you can stay in church from dusk to dawn or only spend an hour and a half\, etc. The traditions you adhere to are not wrong\, however\, they cannot sanctify you.  \nHebrews 10:1-4  We have seen how the law is simply a shadow of the good things to come. Since it is not the perfect form of these ultimate realities\, the offering year after year of these imperfect sacrifices cannot bring perfection to those who come forward to worship. 2 If they had served this purpose\, wouldn’t the repetition of these sacrifices have become unnecessary? If they had worked—and cleansed the worshipers—then one sacrifice would have taken away their consciousness of sin. 3 But these sacrifices actually remind us that we sin again and again\, year after year. 4 In the end\, the blood of bulls and of goats is powerless to take away sins. (TVT) \nIf you do research\, you will find the Pharisees added an additional 248 commandments and 365 prohibitions to the ten commandments. Yet\, the additional rules did not work any better than the ten the Lord gave. Rules\, laws\, and prohibitions could not regulate the behavior not of the Israelites\, and not of any human being. Which is why Jesus had to become our sacrifice.  \nGalatians 2:16 We know very well that we are not set right with God by rule-keeping but only through personal faith in Jesus Christ. How do we know? We tried it—and we had the best system of rules the world has ever seen! Convinced that no human being can please God by self-improvement\, we believed in Jesus as the Messiah so that we might be set right before God by trusting in the Messiah\, not by trying to be good. (MSG) \nThere will always be a need for one more rule if we use the Pharisees’ method. Why\, because there will always be a loophole\, an oversight\, etc. in the previous rule. Don’t get so caught up in making sure you adhere to the traditions that you lose sight of the God you serve. Spend time cultivating a relationship with God; it will guide your behavior. You can uphold a tradition and request that others do the same. However\, make sure you understand what the tradition is\, the reasons you defend it\, and how it glorifies God.  \nPhilippians 3:3 For we have already experienced “heart-circumcision\,” and we worship God in the power and freedom of the Holy Spirit\, not in laws and religious duties. We are those who boast in what Jesus Christ has done\, and not in what we can accomplish in our own strength. (TPT) \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, as I think back over my childhood\, there were more rules and regulations than I could count or break. Rules dictated what I could wear to church and what I couldn’t. Where I could sit in church and where I couldn’t. What I could say in church and what I couldn’t. Now I understand it was never a matter of whether or not those traditions were necessary; You wanted my heart. I repent for every time I conformed to a tradition because I was obligated or forced to. Thank You for teaching me You wanted me to reverence You. You wanted me to choose You because I understood and appreciated the fact that You deserved my choice. Sometimes it was difficult to tell the difference and I am sorry. I should have asked You. In all the regulations and rules\, seeking You was not one of them. Yet\, You did not leave me ignorant. You called to me. You taught me if I continue to spend time with You\, I can hold on to some traditions because I choose to if I feel they bring me any closer to You. They are a part of my heritage. You also taught me their purpose\, which gave me the liberty and helped me decide to keep them or not. DESCRIPTION:John 4:24 God is spirit\, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (KJV) \nAre you being true in your worship? \nThe Bible says\, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord (Psalm 150:6).” However\, there are prerequisites to worship.  \nFirst\, you must acknowledge Jesus as the way to the Lord. \nJohn 14:6 Jesus said to him\, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (AMP) \nSecond\, salvation is how you acknowledge Jesus\, and through salvation you claim Him as LORD.  \nRomans 10:9 because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power\, authority\, and majesty as God]\, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead\, you will be saved. (AMP) \nOnce saved\, you can worship because salvation identifies who God is. When you know who God is\, worship is the natural response. You worship knowing God is a Spirit\, not flesh and blood. You have to worship Him in the Spirit as the scripture for today states (you can also see November 9th). There is no more sacrificing of calves and doves.  \nHebrews 10:4-5 Because the blood of bulls and goats is powerless to take sins away. 5 Hence\, when He [Christ] entered into the world\, He said\, Sacrifices and offerings You have not desired\, but instead You have made ready a body for Me [to offer]; (AMPC) \nIt is not enough for you to just show up for church on Sunday or Wednesday or to do the work you do in and for the church.  \nMatthew 7:22-23 Many will say to Me in that day\, ‘Lord\, Lord\, have we not prophesied in Your name\, cast out demons in Your name\, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them\, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me\, you who practice lawlessness!’ (NKJV) \nThough you may sacrifice to show up and/or to work\, the real sacrifice has to be you\, the real and true you\, with all your flaws\, issues and concerns.  \nPsalm 40:6a Doing something for you\, bringing something to you—that’s not what you’re after. Being religious\, acting pious — that’s not what you’re asking for. (MSG) \nPsalm 40:6 Sacrifice and offering You do not desire\, nor have You delight in them; You have given me the capacity to hear and obey [Your law\, a more valuable service than] burnt offerings and sin offerings [which] You do not require. (AMPC) \nYour acceptance of God’s invitation to be saved means you believe He is God. Your humble submission to God’s authority means you acknowledge Him as Lord and is the foundation of your worship. You being honest with God about who you are\, what you feel\, and submitting all your frailties and weaknesses makes your worship true. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I confess You are my Lord and acknowledge You as a Spirit. I know if I am to worship You; I have to worship You in spirit. I have to be the sacrifice. I have to lay myself at the altar\, my real self. I repent for all the times I tried to hide stuff or pretend with You. I am not sure why I tried because You Are God. You already know everything about me. All the things have done\, all the things I am doing\, and all the things I will do. Yet You love me still. I might be able to convince people I am sincere when I am not. However\, You can see inside my heart. If I am sincere\, You will see it and receive my worship. If I am not\, You will know it and You won’t accept my offering. You do not make it complicated it at all. It is that cut and dry. You know if I am asking for forgiveness because I truly am repentant or if I am just ashamed because I got caught. One of the many wonderful things about You is\, when there is something wrong in my heart; I can tell You. I am so grateful because not only will You show me why it’s wrong and You will fix it. You want me to be honest with You\, why wouldn’t I. You already know. My honesty gives me the opportunity to enrich my relationship with You\, take ownership of my weaknesses and flaws\, and grow. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather God\, for a long time I struggled with 1 Thessalonians 5:18\, “In all things give thanks.” I realized I was struggling because I could not accept what the passage was asking. I thought if I said “for all things\,” that would be better. When I changed what I said\, I got some relief\, however\, I still had struggles. I repent for trying to make it easier for me. I should have come to You and accepted Your will. You have taught me it doesn’t really matter whether I am thanking You while I am going through or if I am thanking You because I am going through; You are at work. I have to see You in every situation in my life. I have to know You have all things under control. Sometimes the situations are tough. Sometimes my heart is broken. Sometimes tears roll down my face. Thank You for showing me all of those are the natural responses to my situation. The spiritual response\, to any state I am in\, is to remember You love me and give You thanks. Thank You for the tears. I can cry. I can feel the hurt. It is okay. Jesus wept. I need to grow from my experiences\, which I won’t do if I murmur and complain about them. Your hand is on my life. You have a plan for me. The conclusion of the matter is on the other side of all these situations. I see You at work. I will give thanks\, in all things\, for all things\, about all things and any other reason I can give You thanks for I must always remember. nothing comes into my life that has not been filtered through Your hands. I have invited people to church\, to Bible study\, even to prayer. I had never invited someone to worship with me. Because of this day\, I asked someone to spend time with me talking about You\, magnifying You\, and exalting You. I told them\, “Come and worship with me. I want us to bow before the Father\, love on Him and give Him what He is due”. I was excited just thinking about it. I was anticipating Your presence resting on us. I had the experience\, and it was more amazing than I could have ever imagined. Thank You for placing the desire in my heart. Thank You for putting everything in place. You were setting me up to be blessed\, and You blessed us\, exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ask or think. DESCRIPTION:Colossians 2:18 Don’t let anyone condemn you by insisting on pious self-denial or the worship of angels\, saying they have had visions about these things. Their sinful minds have made them proud. (NLT) \nAre you humble enough? \nSometimes the Lord will use you in an amazing and truly powerful way. It should not shock or mystify you when God speaks through you to bring a word of prophecy and it changes someone’s life\, or when God uses you to lay hands on someone to heal them\, and/or when God uses you to pray for someone’s deliverance.  \nJohn 14:12 I assure you and most solemnly say to you\, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach]\, because I am going to the Father. (AMP) \nYou should\, however\, remember you are not relying on yourself; it is God. Keep in mind\, your anointing comes from God.  \n1 Corinthians 12:4-7 Now there are many kinds of grace gifts\, but they are all from the same Spirit. 5 There are many different ways to serve\, but they’re all directed by the same Lord. 6 There are many amazing working gifts in the church\, but it is the same God who energizes them all in all who have the gifts. 7 Each believer has received a gift that manifests the Spirit’s power and presence. That gift is given for the good of the whole community. (TVT) \nYou have to be careful you are not pulled into a self-glorifying and ultimately self-gratifying spiral. The lack of humility can disguise itself in your need to evaluate and identify the shortcomings of others. When humility is absent\, pride is present. Instead of being supportive and looking for ways to help\, pride will cause you to be judgmental and critical.  \nRomans 12:3 God has given me grace to speak a warning about pride. I would ask each of you to be emptied of self-promotion and not create a false image of your importance. Instead\, honestly assess your worth by using your God-given faith as the standard of measurement\, and then you will see your true value with an appropriate self-esteem. The Passion Translation \nIf you become proud\, it isn’t enough to prophesy to one person. The next thing has to be bigger and better. \nProverbs 16:18 Your boast becomes a prophecy of a future failure. The higher you lift yourself up in pride\, the harder you’ll fall in disgrace. (TPT) \nIf you keep moving along this path\, you will get to the point where someone can call on the phone and get a prophecy on the spot\, for a small fee. Or there will always be an offering attached to the words God gives to you in the forms of lines for various amounts of money\, cloths or other items to buy\, pledges\, etc. Don’t become a circus act or a sideshow where someone can catch your performance at the church. God gave you the gifts and abilities you have to bless\, not for you to create a name for yourself and not for you to monetize. \nMatthew 10:8 Cure the sick\, raise the dead\, cleanse the lepers\, drive out demons. Freely (without pay) you have received\, freely (without charge) give. (AMPC) \nUnfortunately\, when you get to this place\, everything is forced\, and flesh driven. You have an audience and what you give will cost them their money\, their freedom and sadly their worship. You are the franchise player\, you are the act. You focus on the gift and not the Giver. However\, what God requires does not change. What you are doing may appear to be good or moral\, when truly it is not. The amazing thing is\, you will probably help someone because of their faith. That’s why it’s monumentally important to stay in the presence of God\, in order to walk in humility and not pride.  \nProverbs 22:4 The reward of humility and the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life. (AMPC) \nIf you ask Him to\, God will keep you humble. He will help you remain centered on Him. \n1 Peter 5:5b-6  Yea\, all of you be subject one to another\, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud\, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God\, that he may exalt you in due time: (KJV) \nThe Father uses humanity\, an undeserving humanity\, to manifest Himself to all who live on this earth. He will make sure the lost will be found. He has a reward for you if  you remain humble. When your daily pursuit and desire is to remain humble\, the enemy will not convince you to speak about the lack in others because you think more highly of yourself than you should. Also\, he cannot trick you into prostituting your anointing. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, it is a blessing to be used by You. It is an honor to speak into the lives of Your people individually or collectively and see Your will done. To be counted worthy by You\, for any task\, is the greatest blessing any believer can have. The enemy\, being the enemy\, wants to challenge the work You do through me and he is unrelenting. He also wants to\, if he can\, defile what You are doing in my life. I repent for any time I thought I deserved any position\, title or place because of the work You did through me. I will make sure I remain humble. You have humbled me before and I don’t want You to have to humble me anymore. I know what it feels like to be broken. I remember when I asked You not to break me anymore. I promised You I would not willfully and knowingly disobey You. I meant it and You have helped me keep my promise to You. I know when I am skirting the edge and I quickly repent in that moment. Thank You for reeling me back in. I want to be a vessel fit for Your use. Fitness has to do with me being humble. It is not me; the work is being done by You\, I’m just a tool.
