(TVT) \nAre you living a life that is a blessing to your neighbor? \nLuke 10:25-37 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho\, and fell among thieves\, who stripped him of his clothing\, wounded him\, and departed\, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him\, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite\, when he arrived at the place\, came and looked\, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan\, as he journeyed\, came where he was. It is important to realize your address does not determine “your neighbor.” God points out your neighbor when He shows you one who is in need. You live in a world that encourages you to promote yourself\, gratify your wants\, and look out for number one. This same world calls you foolish and soft when you show concern for and put someone else’s needs above your own. \nHowever\, in this same world\, Maslow\, the human behaviorist\, deals with a principle called transcendence. He believed when you transcend; you come to realize that it is not enough to maximize your own potential. You discover real fulfillment comes when you understand the integral part you play in someone else maximizing theirs. \n“Transcendence refers to the very highest and most inclusive or holistic levels of human consciousness\, behaving and relating\, as ends rather than means\, to oneself\, to significant others\, to human beings in general\, to other species\, to nature\, and to the cosmos.” \nDon’t know if Maslow accepted Christ as his savior\, however I believe he got his concept from the Lord. When you allow God to direct all of your desires\, you go beyond your ordinary human level of consciousness. You can experience “a oneness” with the Lord almighty and gain deeper understanding and higher truths. Spiritual transcendence is the God given and inspired desire\, passion and commission to help others find the answer to their emptiness\, who is Jesus Christ. It is a desire to model\, teach and train\, not dictate\, drill and demand. \nActs 17: 28a\, For in Him we live\, and move\, and have our being (KJV)  \n“God being in control of your life” is the reality God wants you to get to. You are not your own. You are in the world for God to use you to make it better. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nI thank You\, Father God\, for requiring me to live my life with concern and care for others. Thank You for helping me to be salt and light as I live on this earth. My prayer is that someone sees You in me and gives You glory. I repent for thinking my life was only about me and what I want and need from You. You have helped me see not only is my life not about me\, now; it was never about me and will never be about me. You created me for You and for Your pleasure. Your pleasure is for none to perish. You want all to come into the knowledge of the truth. I am at Your service\, Father. Thank You for picking me. Thank You for allowing me the opportunity\, every day\, to show someone the love of Christ; to be there when they need physical help; to encourage someone; to help someone see they do not lose all because You are ever present\, and You have promised to never leave nor forsake. SUMMARY:Galatians 5:16
DESCRIPTION:Galatians 5:16 This I say then\, Walk in the Spirit\, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (KJV) \nAre you defending your right to be wrong? \nBecause you love the Lord\, you want to be obedient to His commands and you want to allow the Spirit to control your daily life. Unfortunately\, it does not always happen. What is your response? Paul gives clarity for this dilemma in Romans 7 and 8. \nRomans 7:15\, 24 I’m a mystery to myself\, for I want to do what is right\, but end up doing what my moral instincts condemn. 24 What an agonizing situation I am in! So who has the power to rescue this miserable man from the unwelcome intruder of sin and death? (TPT) \nLike Paul\, there are probably times when you feel like giving up. The devil is always there to point out when you have made a mistake. Celebrate the Lord\, this is not the end. Paul gives hope. \nRomans 7:25  I give all my thanks to God\, for his mighty power has finally provided a way out through our Lord Jesus\, the Anointed One! So if left to myself\, the flesh is aligned with the law of sin\, but now my renewed mind is fixed on and submitted to God’s righteous principles. (TPT) \nWhen left to yourself\, you give excuses for your behavior. Allow the Holy Spirit to renew your mind. Repent and The Father will cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Every time you give an excuse for your sins\, you set the stage to repeat that same sin over and over. No matter how many times you need to repent\, keep doing it until God delivers you. The devil will criticize you and try to condemn you. Paul has a posture for you to take. \nRomans 8:1-2  So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus\, the Anointed One. For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us from the “law” of sin and death. (TPT) \nYou are in the same battle as Paul and every other Christian. The same hope is available as well. Like Paul\, you can give God glory for the victory. Don’t give in to the tendency to justify wrong actions and behavior because of past experiences and the fact that you are only human. It does not matter what the devil whispers about you in your ear. Stop looking at yourself in the natural and look through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. All you need to do is submit totally to the Lord. You have already won! Just claim it. If you keep explaining\, giving excuses\, and telling your side of the story\, you won’t claim your victory; and you will never be free. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, in the name of Jesus\, Thank You for bringing me to the place where I understand I must be totally submitted to You. You can have free reign because I am delivered through Jesus Christ! I will no longer give excuses for my behavior. If I truly allow You to be Lord over my life\, I will not do things I don’t want to do because I know You will not be pleased. I will continue to repent when I stumble\, as I am pursuing and running hard after You. I want to do those things that bring You glory. You have separated me from this body of sin and death. My job is to live like it. I thank You for Your presence\, Your spirit\, and Your anointing on my life. As I continue to seek Your face and as I continue to spend time in Your presence; You bring my flesh under submission and I thank You. I walk in victory because the enemy is not free to influence my actions. As I stay close to You\, I walk in a place where I am not moved by my feelings and fleshly responses; I am governed by You. DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 14:26 I would encourage you to conduct your meetings in such a way that everyone is mutually edified. Each one in turn may contribute in music\, in a teaching; another may bring a tongue with a revelation and interpretation. (TMB) \nAre you allowing your gift to make room for you? \nHave you ever been to a service of any type and there was a such a powerful move of God? Where He manifested His presence to such a degree that you felt empowered? When did the feeling start? Let me try to paint the picture for you. \nImagine sitting in a service and the anointing of God was thick to the degree you felt you could touch it. Then someone stood up and gave a word from the Lord. Then someone else did. Next\, you could see to the left someone is giving a word to a particular person\, not the entire congregation. At the same time\, there is someone in the right corner speaking in tongues and laying on hands. In the middle\, there is someone else who is praying and prophesying. Someone else is singing\, possibly where you can understand what they are saying. They might even be singing in tongues. \nNow you ask yourself\, “What about me? How do I participate? Shouldn’t I take part in what is going on? Should I pray\, prophesy\, or lay hands too? What do I do?” \nNow the picture I painted may be exaggerated\, that was necessary for the point. Spirit filled services have emotional excitement attached to them. If you are not prayerful\, you get caught up in the emotion and several people who are in attendance\, including you\, might just miss God. There are a couple of truths you want to add to your arsenal\, as you battle in this war: \n\nIf you have been faithfully allowing God to use you as a gift\, it will not go unnoticed.\n\nProverbs 18:16 A man’s gift maketh room for him\, and bringeth him before great men. (KJV) \n\nIf you have to wonder whether you should “do” something\, ask God.\n\nPsalm 75:6–7 This I know: the favor that brings promotion and power doesn’t come from anywhere on earth\, for no one exalts a person but God\, the true judge of all. He alone determines where favor rests. He anoints one for greatness and brings another down to his knees. (TPT) \n\nYou should always be more concerned about lifting Jesus and not using your gifts.\n\n1 Corinthians 14:12 Even so ye\, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts\, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. (KJV) \nPaul admonishes us to serve an orderly God in an orderly manner. The Lord reserves the anointing He placed on your life for His use. He knows the time\, the day and the service. It may not be in the service that day. Rely on the unction of the Holy Spirit to let you know what action\, if any\, you need to take. Also\, if you think things have gotten out of hand\, do nothing. Maybe you are just not in the flow because your mind and heart are somewhere else. Rely on the Holy Spirit to handle it. He knows what is happening and is well able to make corrections if needed.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for guiding me to be a part of services where there I can experience Your power as You flow through the many gifts in the body. There are those who preach and teach; those who can exhort in song; those who can bring a word of knowledge or a word of wisdom; those who speak in tongues with interpretation\, and it becomes prophecy; and those who prophesy. Father God\, I thank You for every gift. Most of all\, I thank You\, Father\, for the order preserved during those times when all the gifts are present and active. Thank You for the guidance and the revelation that the activity was not a competition nor was it chaotic. I repent for those times when I did not allow Your gift in me to make room for me\, and I felt the need to take part and be out of order. I glorify You for the gifts You have blessed me to have and the anointing that is on my life. Thank You for allowing me to come together\, with fellow believers\, to love You and worship You. SUMMARY:1 Corinthians 14:4
DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. (KJV) \nIs your desire to edify the body? \nHere is a great truth for you: speaking in tongues doesn’t make you more spiritual! There are those who would try to make you feel less than effective or less powerful if you don’t speak in tongues. As if that is the only evidence of being filled with the Spirit. \n1 Corinthians 14:18-19 I give thanks to God that I speak in tongues more than all of you\, 19 but in the church setting I would rather speak five words that can be understood than ten thousand exotic words in a tongue. That way I could have a role in teaching others. (TPT) \nThere are too many who speak in tongues just to “appear” spiritual. When you are in corporate worship\, you want everyone to be blessed. If there is an interpretation with tongues\, then the tongues become prophesy. A word of prophecy will edify everyone\, even if the speaker was addressing a particular person. \n1 Corinthians 14:26-28 Beloved friends\, what does all this imply? When you conduct your meetings\, you should always let everything be done to build up the church family. Whether you share a song of praise\, a teaching\, a divine revelation\, or a tongue and interpretation\, let each one contribute what strengthens others. 27 If someone speaks in a tongue\, it should be two or three\, one after another\, with someone interpreting. 28 If there’s no one with the interpretation\, then he should remain silent in the meeting\, content to speak to himself and to God. (TPT) \nIn your personal time of prayer\, praying in tongues can release your burden; give you a sense of being closer to the Lord; give you the words to say when you want to pour your heart out to the Lord and stop your brain from trying to fix your problem. \nThere are also times when a person is praying corporately\, and the fervency and passion of the prayer gives liberty to the Holy Spirit. We understand the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us with groans that are not expressed in intelligible words (Romans 8:26). It is my belief\, when that happens\, what the person says after “speaking in tongues” is an interpretation of what the Holy Spirit prayed. However\, this is something that you need to ask the Lord for yourself. \nIt may seem mystical\, it does not have to be. You can pray\, study the Bible\, and read articles\, then pray again. It is your responsibility to know what the Bible says. You can begin your reading in Acts 2:4-6\, 1 Corinthians 13:1 and also the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 14. While you are reading and studying\, you should also be praying. Ask the Father to give you revelation\, clarity\, and understanding. \nJames 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance]\, he is to ask of [our benevolent] God\, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame\, and it will be given to him. (AMP) \nYour heavenly Father desires to reveal all things to you. When you have prayed\, studied the Bible\, and read articles\, you will have the clarity to abide by what the Bible says. The Holy Spirit will help you adjust your thinking and your behavior as you line up with what God requires. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nHeavenly Father\, today’s lessons reminded me of the scripture where Paul thanked You because he spoke with tongues more than all the Corinthians. He thought the more important thing was for him to speak five words with his understanding\, that by his voice he might teach others. I repent for desiring my edification without thinking about Your body. Father\, help me walk in the place Paul walked and Jesus walked. Help me be the person who is more concerned about edifying\, building up and blessing the entire body than proving to someone I speak in tongues or that I am spiritual. I don’t want to be the person who appears to be divinely elevated\, when I am only blessing myself. I want You to use me to bless others. I thank You for revelation\, and I also thank You for giving me understanding. There were many times when I was in charge and I didn’t understand what was going on. Everyone was speaking in tongues and I thought there was something wrong with me. Now I have Your word. It lets me know the proper way because You are a God of order. DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 10:23 All things are lawful for me\, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me\, but all things edify not. (KJV) \nAre you letting your freedom create a snare? \nIt is a wonderful thing to experience the freedom God has given you\, isn’t it? You can choose to love Him\, choose to serve Him\, chose to allow Him to lead you in the decisions you make\, choose to honor Him with your life\, etc. You can also choose not to. Yet\, regardless of the choices you make\, you continue to breathe every day\, because He allows it. Now\, here is the test. If you have been a part of the Kingdom of believers for a while\, you probably have had many opportunities to decide whether you were going to do what you wanted to do or what you knew God desired and required you to do. What have you chosen in the past? What do you continue to choose? When you read the Bible\, it reminds you; you have free will. It also gives you the heart and desires of the Father. However\, you decide what you will or will not do\, where you will or will not go\, what you will or will not say\, etc. Every time you chose God\, you give Him your gift of submission to the authority of the word. You say to Him\, Your will be done\, not mine. \nBecause we have free will\, we mistakenly think that we can do what we want. Because we accepted salvation\, we can take advantage of the fact that we are no longer under the condemnation of the law. If we are not careful\, our freedom can cause a snare. For we know that “God loves a cheerful giver.” 8 God is ready to overwhelm you with more blessings than you could ever imagine so that you’ll always be taken care of in every way and you’ll have more than enough to share. 9 Remember what is written about the One who trusts in the Lord: He scattered abroad; He gave freely to the poor; His righteousness endures throughout the ages. 10 The same One who has put seed into the hands of the sower and brought bread to fill our stomachs will provide and multiply the resources you invest and produce an abundant harvest from your righteous actions. (TVT) \nKnow this. Whenever you submit to God\, whether it is your time\, your talent\, your money\, your treasures\, your choices\, etc.\, do it cheerfully. Live a free life in the liberty Jesus died for. Whom the Lord has made free is free indeed. However\, don’t allow your freedom to take you places that do not represent God’s best or cause you to hinder someone else’s growth. With freedom comes responsibility. If you know your conduct is not pleasing to God\, stop doing it (and the Holy Spirit will let you know.) If you know your actions will cause a brother or sister to stumble\, refrain from them. You change your behavior\, not because God forbids you\, you have free will. You change because you want to walk in the knowledge of the Lord. It’s the only way one who loves God should walk\, love\, and live! \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for my freedom. I repent for those times I allowed my freedom to create a snare for me and also for others. I thank You for allowing me to choose to serve You with a cheerful heart. I don’t feel like there are things I cannot do or places I cannot go. I choose not to do what grieves You. Because Your Spirit lives in me\, I choose not to take You any place You would not be at peace. I will allow Your Spirit to govern me. I thank You for keeping me. I will not use my freedom as an excuse or permission to sin. Thank You Father God\, for touching my heart\, and making me even more concerned about my brothers and sisters. I will not knowingly cause anyone to stumble. I thank You for continuing to grow me up. I especially thank You for showing me that being a cheerful giver is not just about money. I love what You’re doing in my life. I thank You for Your concern for my life. I thank You\, Father God\, for the longsuffering You show me when I slip or when I selfishly make the wrong choice. You don’t forsake me; You are yet right there. Thank You for giving me an opportunity to get it right every day. SUMMARY:Colossians 2:7
DESCRIPTION:Colossians 2:7 Just like the roots of the tree\, draw your sustenance and strength from him. Like a building rising up out of its foundation\, your life makes the full statue of Christ visible; standing tall in his shoes\, firm in your faith posture. The language of gratitude that overflows from your lips reflect the exact impression of what you were taught. (TMB) \nAre you the Lord’s planting or your own?  \nWhen you look at a building\, do you stop and think about the type of foundation that was needed in order for it to be as tall as it is? Or when you see an oak tree\, do you think about how far down and how widespread the roots are? You are the planting of the Lord. In order for you to stand tall and reflect the image of the Father\, you must have a foundation in Him that is deep and wide. Just like a plant needs water to survive and flourish\, if you want to survive and flourish and have His image seen when the world sees you\, your heavenly Father must nourish and strengthen you. \nJeremiah 17:8 You want to be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. You will not fear when heat comes; your leaves will always be green. You will have no worries in a year of drought and you will never fail to bear fruit. (KJV) \nAs you take shape and develop into all God has purposed and planned for you\, God transforms you into His image. As you look at what God has done\, you can only stop and give Him all the glory and praise. You can say\, “This is the Lord’s doing\, and it is marvelous in His eyes!” Salvation created the foundations and your time in prayer\, fasting\, study and worship fortified and cultivated the soil that allows you to stand tall and show God as the Lord of your life. You are the planting of the Lord! You will bear fruit that remains because God dictates your life and all you desire. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for saving me and planting me. Before the foundation of the world\, You created me; You gave me gifts; You gave me talents; most of all\, You gave me purpose. I repent for taking Your plant and trying to make it mine. DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 4:16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work\, it helps the other parts grow\, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. (NLT) \nAre you keeping the body healthy? \nWhen pastors and ministry leaders refer to this passage\, often they are trying to help you understand the church needs you and how and where you fit. They want you to feel connected to everyone. Think about all the churches you have attended. Whether you were saved at the time of your visit or not\, did you feel the unity? There is a sense of agreement that should be evident in every church\, ministry\, bible study\, etc. The unity should flow from heart to heart. Why? Because the body of Christ is every believer. The sad thing is Sunday morning can be the most dis-unified day for the believer. Not only do different denominations separate\, churches within the same denomination can present a separate focus. That is why you have to be a carrier of the love of God\, no matter where you go. You have your place in the body locally and also universally. You celebrate the work of Christ with all men and women who love God\, even if you do not do it the same way. Paul stated in: \n1 Corinthians 2:2 “For I determined not to know anything among you\, save Jesus Christ\, and him crucified”. (KJV)  \nJesus Christ is the common ground all believers stand on. Your local church may be a finger on the hand of the body of Christ. We should not make statements speaking against the ear that may be in another community\, city\, county\, state\, or country. So often we attempt to show the members of the local body joined\, worshipping in unity. However\, we do not make the same effort to walk in agreement with the church universal. Often\, we do not try to understand and love the entire body of Christ. \nMark 9:38-41 John said to Him\, Teacher\, we saw a man who does not follow along with us driving out demons in Your name\, and we forbade him to do it\, because he is not one of our band [of Your disciples]. 39 But Jesus said\, Do not restrain or hinder or forbid him; for no one who does a mighty work in My name will soon afterward be able to speak evil of Me. 40 For he who is not against us is for us. 41 For I tell you truly\, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to and bear the name of Christ will by no means fail to get his reward. (AMPC) \nWe all are to be known by our love one for another\, help each other grow and be strong\, and recognize we all represent God on the earth. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. If you are not careful\, you can become cynical as well. Then you will be suspicious of everything and everyone\, and you will see life negatively. Please remember\, God is faithful. Haven’t I already warned you that those who use their “freedom” for these things will not inherit the kingdom realm of God! (TPT) \nSpiritual activities and emotions draw you closer to the Lord and fulfill His will on earth. \nGalatians 5:22–23 But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows\, peace that subdues\, patience that endures\, kindness in action\, a life full of virtue\, faith that prevails\, gentleness of heart\, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities\, for they are meant to be limitless. (TPT) \nNow\, sometimes you try to convince yourself a specific activity could “ultimately” bring glory to God. If you are honest with yourself\, you know your motivation is not God focused at all. That is why the bible encourages you to examine yourself. If you do\, you will determine when the activities you take part in\, the thoughts you give place to\, or the words you speak give God glory. Stop pretending; own what you do and stop doing things you know God is not pleased with. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Thank You for requiring me to identify whether I glorify You in my actions\, thoughts\, and in my words. You let me know when You are pleased and when You are not. The people who don’t pray in tongues believe it isn’t necessary\, and the Holy Spirit can lead them without doing so. The answer to that question is the root of rampant confusion\, heated discussions\, rifts\, and dissensions. What does it mean to you? If you think it means you need to pray in tongues\, then you should. Whether or not you pray in tongues\, you need to have a firm foundation and a knowing within yourself that the Holy Spirit leads your prayers. \nRomans 8:26-27 And in a similar way\, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example\, at times we don’t even know how to pray\, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf\, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words (groanings which cannot be uttered). 27 God\, the searcher of the heart\, knows fully our longings\, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit\, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us\, his holy ones\, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny. (TPT) \nHow do you know if the Holy Spirit leads your prayers? That is a good question\, and one you should continue to ask the Lord until you are at peace in your heart. Your relationship with the Lord\, governed by the time you spend with Him\, lets you know. You cultivate your connection with the Father as you commune with Him\, and spend time in prayer\, in study\, and in worship. The Holy Spirit will let you know. (KJV) \nAre you choosing to go along to get along? \nThere is always one person in the bunch who is forever in the center of the drama. The spirit of strife has found them and attached itself\, and is always there to influence them. The spirit of strife is always in the middle of every disagreement and is there everywhere the person goes.  \nJames 3:16 For where envying and strife is\, there is confusion and every evil work. (KJV) \nWherever the person shows up\, something happens. No one may remember how the confusion got started. Here is how: the spirit of strife was there\, in the background\, stirring the pot. Someone says the right thing to start confusion; someone else repeats something that was said “in confidence”; they drag information around like a dog with a bone\, etc. Remember\, it’s not the person\, it’s the spirit of strife on assignment\, creating tension and discord. \nAs a part of your training\, you have to know that the spirit of strife influences people everywhere\, including you. No matter where you are\, whether it’s on your job\, in your group of friends\, in your home\, or\, sadly\, at your church. What does it mean for you if this person sits in a place of influence in your life\, can help you get a promotion\, help you get a raise\, or is a part of the tribe you want to be a part of?  \nFirst\, it is not your job to deal with the spirit of strife in a person. You don’t have the power to fix them according to what you think a “fixed person” would look like. If ever you think you are being led by God to “give a word\,” make sure it is not just your flesh working overtime. One way to be sure you are being directed by God is\, He will ordain the moment of your encounter. You will not orchestrate it\, plan it\, or schedule it. Also\, you will know if you really heard God by the outcome of the encounter. There will not be a stressful or strife-filled conversation because God is not the author of confusion. Ding! Next level warfare! \nMatthew 18:15 This is what you do if one of your brothers or sisters sins against you: go to him\, in private\, and tell him just what you perceive the wrong to be. If he listens to you\, you’ve won a brother. (TVT) \nYour responsibility is to ask the Holy Spirit to help you discern the spirit at work and if God does not direct you to speak or intervene\, separate yourself from it. Whether it is you or someone else\, pray for deliverance. You don’t want to be around a person who carries the spirit of strife\, and if you are being influenced by it\, stay away from others until you allow the Lord to deal with you.  \nSecond\, make a choice. What if everyone accepts this person’s behavior? What if you would be outcast if you didn’t also? What will you do\, go along\, or choose a different path? This is a pivotal moment and important part of your training. This is another test to pass. Here is a truth you can use as a decision helper: \nDeuteronomy 30:19a I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you\, that I have set before you life and death\, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life. (NKJV) \nThere is nothing that a man or woman can do for you that surpasses what God can do if you just walk in his ways. You know God is on your side. Live in that truth and allow God to do what you need done in our life.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I know it is human nature to want to be accepted. You are teaching me to desire acceptance and approval by You first. I repent when I get it backwards. I am sorry for putting anyone else in front of You. Father\, until such time as I am completely there\, I thank You for showing me when I am prone to go along to get along. Continue to show me the pitfalls. Help me discern strife-filled people and steer away from strife-filled situations. Show me when I am being influenced by the spirit of strife. It is my tendency to want to help. However\, I understand I could just add to the confusion if I am not led by You. You have shown me strife is like a plague. It can influence anyone\, and it can spread everywhere: in my home\, at my church\, or on my job. The ripple effect continues because each person\, influenced by strife\, takes it with them wherever they go. That same spirit causes confusion and someone else is infected\, et cetera et cetera. Father\, I don’t want to be someone who causes issues wherever I go. I don’t want to be a part of that vicious cycle of confusion\, problems\, issues\, and struggles. Thank You for requiring me to keep contention and strife out of my environment. The Bible tells you to be alert and aware as you fight in this spiritual war. You need to recognize the devil’s schemes\, plots\, and plans. You need to know what you’re dealing with and equip yourself for each battle you fight in this war.  \n1 Peter 5:8-9b Be well balanced (temperate\, sober of mind)\, be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours\, the devil\, roams around like a lion [roaring in fierce hunger]\, seeking someone to seize upon and devour. 9 Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset—rooted\, established\, strong\, immovable\, and determined]\, (AMPC) \nThe greatest strategists in the world examine their enemies. They understand their opponent’s inner workings and methodologies. Great football coaches watch the film clips of the next team they will compete against. Boxers watch videos of the boxer they’re going to be fighting next. These tactics and practices are invaluable to you as well.  \nMatthew 24:43  But you should know this: If the owner of a house had known his house was about to be broken into\, he would have stayed up all night\, vigilantly. He would have kept watch\, and he would have thwarted the thief. (TVT) \nFrom the day the Lord saved you\, you became a soldier in His army. You have fought in this war\, whether spiritual leaders taught you or trained you\, or if you just went it alone. You had to because your enemy\, satan; the devil stalked you. Now you know it is your spiritual responsibility to understand how the enemy works in your life and what tools you have to combat him. This is what it means to be prepared. This is how you bring extra oil. Your lamp doesn’t have to run out. You do not have to become a casualty of war. As a side thought\, ask yourself these two questions:  \n\nWhat causes your lamp to flicker?\nWhat causes you to burn your oil faster?\n\nYou get ready by diligently seeking God. You prepare and get additional oil for your lamp when you spend dedicated time in prayer. The Father will help you examine your activities to see how the enemy comes against you. Not only will He show you how\, He will show you when and where\, enabling you to be ready. When the enemy comes in like a flood\, you can lift up a standard if you still have oil for your lamp.  \nThe greatest incentive is if you keep oil in your lamp\, you can be ready when the King comes. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for preparing me. I will have oil when You come. I thank You for Your power. Your Spirit flows through me to replenish and refresh me. I repent for the doors I have opened and how the enemy has used those entry ways to exploit me. Thank You for forgiveness and being faithful to speak to me and draw me. Please continue to deliver me and help me allow You to close those doors. Your presence shines a light in the darkness. I can see the devil at work trying to destroy my life. I want to understand how he can still trap me and how he has tricked me in the past. I want to be diligent in my time with You\, which will make it difficult for him to trick and trap me in the same ways repeatedly. I want to draw closer to You\, then I can see the enemy through Your eyes. I want to see what new tricks he is planning against me and confound him by Your Spirit. I want to stand victorious in this fight. Father\, I know You could stop the enemy from attacking me. Help me not to become shaky when You don’t. I know You are developing me. SUMMARY:Corinthians 6:19
DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not realize that your body by design is the sacred shrine of the spirit of God; he echoed God within you. Your body does not even belong to you in the first place! (TMB) \nWhat kind of temple are you asking God to dwell in? \nDo you think about this scripture from time to time? Often\, it is used to discourage what ministry leaders and religious leaders consider as the “major” sins: adultery\, smoking\, fornicating\, drinking; you know the list. Please know this: there are no top sins that contaminate the body. All sin contaminates the body. This body is not your own\, it belongs to God. When you accepted His invitation\, you allowed Him to come and dwell within you.  \nRomans 8:10-11 If Christ lives in you\, though your [natural] body is dead because of sin\, your spirit is alive because of righteousness [which He provides]. 11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you\, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit\, who lives in you. (AMP) \nYou are no longer just His creation\, now you are His place of residence. This is not your body\, alone. You should not take it anywhere and everywhere. You should not do anything and everything with it\, nor to it. You should honor it as the home of God. This is a test you get to pass every day. The goal here is to treat your body as God’s temple. You may have\, up to now\, rationalized and reasoned a way to continue to live your life the way you have been. Please ask God to show you those things that you need to allow Him to fix.  \n1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Don’t you understand that together you form a temple to the living God and His Spirit lives among you? To determine if you are treating it in the way it should be treated; listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. (TVT) \nNot only do you want your body to be the place where God dwells\, you also want Him to take pleasure in dwelling there. As you read the Old Testament (Exodus 25–31)\, you see how God designed and crafted the Temple. You could spend a wonderful time of study  and get revelation to better understand the function of the temple and the intricacy of its design. Then you could make the correlation between the physical temple and your body. This will help make God feel welcome.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. I do desire for You to enjoy dwelling within me. I ask You\, Father\, to continue to show me those things You need to fix and those things You need to change. I want You to take joy in dwelling in this earthen vessel. I only want to take Your temple to places it needs to be where You can be at peace. I want the things I do with it and to it to bring You glory and honor. As You search my heart and my life\, show me what celebrates You and what does not. DESCRIPTION:Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh\, but in the Spirit\, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ\, he is none of his. (KJV) \nAre you flesh-consciousness or spirit-consciousness? \nToday’s question is good. What does it mean? It is simply asking if you know when you are being ruled by your flesh or by God’s Spirit? How would you know? Here are some examples of how you would act if you were being ruled by your flesh. You would: \n\nAlways have yourself as the center of your actions.\nDo good deeds because you are hoping to be seen and celebrated.\nRespond to situations based on emotion only.\nSay the right thing because the right person is listening\, not because it’s in your heart. \nDo anything (i.e.\, lie\, cheat\, steal\, kill\, etc.) to get what you wanted\, even if it meant hurting someone else.\n\nGalatians 5:16 But I say\, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance]\, and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. (AMP) \nWhen you walk according to the word\, you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. If you accepted salvation\, God’s Spirit is in you. Are you able to process this truth? Are you able to embrace this truth: “the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you”? If you can\, you will see yourself as God’s image on the earth. Please understand\, you are the only God some people will ever experience. With this in mind\, do not govern yourself and deal with people according to your flesh. Passing these training tests will carry you far as you war with the enemy\, and also as you seek to represent The Father. Those who are babes in Christ\, or even those who don’t know Christ\, will know if you are approaching them with God’s Spirit in activation (from a real place) or if you are not. They can tell if you are acting exactly like them.  \nLuke 6:45 People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their hearts\, good and upright people will produce good fruit. But out of the evil hidden in their hearts\, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words. (TPT) \nYour heart reveals how much you have allowed the Spirit of God to rule you. You want your actions and your words to cause wonder. How are you able to respond this way? How are you able to do what you’ve done or give the way you do? Whether or not someone asks you; you know you act the way you do because you have the Spirit of God living within you. His Spirit is love. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, in the name of Jesus\, I am sorry and repentant because I lived constantly aware of what the devil was doing. Thank You for reminding me not only should I be aware of what You are doing in the world; I should also be aware of what You are doing in me. Thank You for Your Spirit. I thank You for thinking enough of me to send Jesus to die for me. I am excited\, amazed\, and humbled every time I think about the power that I now have because of salvation. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now dwells within me. I thank You\, Father God\, for the liberty and the grace to allow Your Spirit to shine forth in all of my interactions. As I submit to You\, Your Spirit can bring my flesh under subjection. I have the power to refuse what looks right or what feels right according to my flesh or the world’s standards. I submit myself to You. My desire is to glorify You. Continue to mold and shape my life. I want the world to see You through me. I want my life to be a conduit through which You can draw some lost man\, woman\, boy or girl. I thank You God\, for choosing me. I thank You God\, for using me. DESCRIPTION:2 Timothy 3:5 “Having a form of godliness\, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (KJV) \nAre you living a life God can use to bring conviction? \nWhen you live a life that glorifies God\, those who are unsaved recognize it and respect you for it. They will say “I’m sorry” when they curse around you and that kind of thing. However\, it is different with “church people.” It can be like walking through a military mine field when you have to deal with people who want you to believe they are spiritual when they are not. What they really are is religious. This is great training!  \nReligious people say hallelujah at the right time. They can hold their hands up in the right way. They have the right expression on their faces when the word is being preached\, or a song is being sung. However\, there is no power in their lives. You should not desire to be a part of their circle\, no matter how influential or powerful their circle is. Also\, before you step over into judgement\, your only task is to live before them. You are not to engage in “instructional conversations.”  \nTitus 3:8-9 This is a faithful saying\, and these things I want you to affirm constantly\, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. 9 But avoid foolish disputes\, genealogies\, contentions\, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. (NKJV) \nSimply allow God to be God in your life as you interact with them. Whether they are a member of the church you attend\, your prayer group or on your job; verbal conversation is not the way to reach them unless it is a God-ordained encounter. Let your light shine in your walk\, your talk\, and your responses to situations. Allow God to bring conviction. He is the only One who can bring them to a true and real relationship with Him. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Thank You for showing me it is not my job to correct them. It is not my responsibility to engage in conversations that lead to debate. I repent for walking down that path more than once or twice. Thank You for correcting me and showing me Your way of living. I want to be spiritual and not religious. I know I will have to make more sacrifices\, give up connections\, and sometimes walk alone. I know I will have to examine myself every day to be sure my love for You is pure. I thank You for every opportunity You give me to see who I am. Sometimes those opportunities are painful\, however I know they are necessary. My prayer is for everyone to see You when they look at me. I want to live a life where whomever is looking will see Your power and recognize Your undeniable anointing on my life. I pray\, Father\, that those\, who I encounter\, would be drawn to a place where they seek You even more. DESCRIPTION:John 3:5 Jesus answered\, Verily\, verily\, I say unto thee\, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit\, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (KJV) \nAre you sharing the gospel with those who are kind\, yet not saved? \nEveryone who wants to see God must be born of the Spirit. Because we are all born into sin and shaped in iniquity (Psalms 51:5)\, God’s desire for everyone is that we are born again. As a servant of God\, you should also want everyone to be a part of His Kingdom. However\, there’s no way in without being born again. You probably know really pleasant people\, kind people\, philanthropic people who would do anything for anybody. You may meet rich people who believe they can take care of anything in their lives\, themselves. Their feelings do not change the word. There’s no way around it. You must be born again. Read Matthew 19:16-22\, 24 (NKJV):  \nNow behold\, one came and said to Him\, “Good Teacher\, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” 17 So He said to him\, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One\, that is\, God. But if you want to enter into life\, keep the commandments.” 18 He said to Him\, “Which ones?” Jesus said\, “You shall not murder\, You shall not commit adultery\, You shall not steal\, You shall not bear false witness\, 19 Honor your father and your mother\, and\, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20 The young man said to Him\, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus said to him\, “If you want to be perfect\, go\, sell what you have and give to the poor\, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come\, follow Me.” 22 But when the young man heard that saying\, he went away sorrowful\, for he had great possessions. 24 And again I say to you\, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. \nSome training processes are easier than others\, this one can be uncomfortable. Just know\, you will be the better for it. It is not about who anyone is or what anyone does in the natural; it’s about the Spirit. Remember\, people do not earn salvation. As you go through life\, meeting\, interacting with and coming to know and love people who are not saved\, never forget this truth. Also\, rich does not just mean financial. Strong’s Concordance translates the word “rich” as wealth (or fulness). The definition is literally money or possessions\, figuratively\, as abundance or richness\, and specifically having a valuable bestowment.  \nBecause of what God did for you\, you want them to know He will do the same for them\, whether or not they think they need Him. Though you want to take advantage of every opportunity to witness and to share the gospel\, make sure you do not leave out those who are wealthy.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. I also thank You for those the world considers as nice/wealthy people. I thank You for the open door into their lives. Now I can show them You. Help me not to disqualify myself because I don’t think I am in their league. Please give me words of wisdom and godly confidence. Often\, it’s difficult for me to speak to people who seem to be naturally or instinctively kind. I know it can also be hard for them to understand their need for You. Father God\, You have the words. You have a way I can use to shine a light ino their lives and show them what they are missing without You. I ask You for those words. Father\, I repent for not stepping out on Your word and lifting You up. When You give me the opportunity\, I won’t take back\, be afraid or rationalize. DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 2:14 The Soulish man has no capacity to comprehend the language of the Spirit of God; spiritual things seem meaningless to him; he is incapable to discern that which can only be spiritually appreciated. (TMB) \nHave you stopped sharing God because of rejection? \nDo you sometimes talk to someone about God\, Who He is\, what He has done and continues to do for the world\, and specifically what He has done in your life? Do you share the godly choices you’re making because of Him? Do you find they look at you as if you’re crazy? What do you do? Do you stop and ask yourself\, “why are they looking at me with that strange expression on their face”? Or do you keep sharing? Please keep in mind\, if they don’t know Christ\, they have no way of comprehending what you’re talking about. Often they cannot or do not celebrate with you because they can only receive your word if they have a soft heart and/or have had a spiritual encounter with the Lord. Otherwise\, they are not there. This is not a character assessment; it is spiritual. Don’t stop sharing. \n1 Corinthians 3:7-9 So neither is the one who plants nor the one who waters anything\, but [only] God who causes the growth. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one [in importance and esteem\, working toward the same purpose]; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers [His servants working together]; you are God’s cultivated field [His garden\, His vineyard]\, God’s building. (AMP) \nIf someone is open to listen\, continue to share. You never know if what you are saying will plant\, water\, or fertilize. You don’t know where they are in the process. God does. Take advantage of every opportunity to testify about who God is and what He has done in your life. Be mindful not to be antagonistic when you interact. However\, if they’re willing to listen\, share. This is a big test in your process. Rejection is not an easy thing to snap back from. Don’t allow the enemy to whisper in your ears\, keep sharing. God can and will keep you. Always remember\, your testimony is drawing them. Then God will save them. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for every opportunity to lift You up\, to share the gospel\, to talk about who You are and what You’ve done. I understand the one I am witnessing to often will not readily express belief and celebrate the information I provide. You encourage me by telling me one plants\, one waters\, and You give the increase. You are the One who draws and Who saves. I will continue to share. I know I don’t have the big picture. I know I don’t know what path a person is on. You know. Please forgive me for not taking advantage of the opportunities You present before me. I don’t want to miss any more of them because of being moved by what I see or don’t see or what I hear or don’t hear. Your word says if You be lifted\, You’ll draw. DESCRIPTION:Hebrews 10:25 In the light of our free access to the FATHER\, let us extend that embrace to one another. Our gatherings are no longer a repetition of tradition but an essential fellowship where we remind one another of our true identity. Let us do so with greater urgency now the day has dawned in our understanding. (TMB) \nAre you consistently assembling yourself with fellow believers? \n(KJV) of Hebrews 10:25 states: \n25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together\, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more\, as ye see the day approaching. \nAt any given time\, after you have missed a couple of church services\, this is the one scripture quoted to you. Pastors preach this scripture across the pulpit for the same reason. They remind you the Bible says you are to “come to church”. Please keep in mind\, within the walls of a church building is not the only place you can assemble yourself with believers. The COVID-19 pandemic proved that to us all. You can assemble yourself for worship\, Bible study and prayer\, in person\, through videoconferencing\, and/or telephone conferencing.  \nWhat is the idea behind Hebrews 10:25? You should make it a practice to gather\, be it in person or not\, with other believers in order to encourage them\, and for them to encourage you to live a life that gives God glory. When you assemble yourself with other believers; you help them as they go through their training for this spiritual war\, and they help you. It is not about tradition and repetition. It is about sharing the love of Christ with those who also love Christ. It is about being in a place where you can lift someone up\, as they are in this battle and on this walk. You realize other people get discouraged just like you. You can share your victories and get prayer for your times of trial. The reason you need to come together is for support as you continue your individual and collective journeys. You are easy prey when you try to do this alone. It is not about church\, church programs\, or church activities. It is about God and your ability to share His love anytime and anywhere.  \n1 Thessalonians 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together\, and edify one another\, even as also ye do. (KJV) \nKeep this in mind\, if you don’t have a Bible study\, a work prayer group\, a prayer line or any other venue where believers gather\, find one. You need to be with fellow believers. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather God\, I thank You for revelation on Your word. I thank You for the bondage being broken. Now\, my desire to assemble with fellow believers is from a heartfelt place You created. I will not attend church\, or be a member of a church\, because of guilt\, torment or demand. I will willingly and joyously come together to share and receive Your love with those who are like-minded. I celebrate the fact that I can be in a coffee shop\, at the café\, on the internet\, on the job\, at a place of worship or wherever You give me the opportunity. Father\, I thank You for the freedom to come together to encourage other believers\, and they can encourage me. I thank You for the liberty as well because everyone does not have it. There is no particular place I have to go to. I live in a place and at a time where I can lift Your name wherever I want to. I recognize there are those who live in places where they can’t worship You or talk about You openly and freely. I repent for taking this liberty for granted. DESCRIPTION:Proverbs 18:1 He who willfully separates and estranges himself [from God and man] seeks his own desire and violently opposes wise and sound judgment. (AMP\, edited)\n\nHave you rejected someone who gave you Godly wisdom? \nHave you ever listened to wisdom from those you know love God and love you? Did you decide not to talk to them anymore because of what they said to you? Did you end the conversation because they didn’t see it your way? Did you separate yourself\, possibly your friendship\, and continue on the path you were on prior to the wisdom provided for you?  \nProverbs 1:7 The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is\, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline. (AMP) \nThere is a wonderful thing about the friends God placed in your life. They don’t require you to agree with their recommendations. However\, you can always agree on the fact that they want to see God’s best manifested in your life. You do not base your relationship with God\, and with those He places in your life\, completely on a set of rules\, ideas\, and theologies. You can believe you have identified truth and gotten revelation from the Bible\, yet you can still miss the power of God. To continue in love and grow through grace\, don’t reduce all of Christianity to your philosophy and your understanding. Allow the power of God to be revealed in the fullness of time. You must receive wisdom\, humbly. \n1 Corinthians 13:9-10 For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect)\, and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect). 10 But when the complete and perfect (total) comes\, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated\, void\, and superseded). (AMPC) \nIf you continue to separate yourself\, you will soon find yourself alone and a prime target for the enemy to pick you off. Therefore\, don’t be unfriendly. Don’t ignore God’s voice when He speaks through your friends because you don’t like sound wisdom; you think they are wrong; you think they don’t understand; or you think they are picking on you. You can agree to disagree. \nJohn 16:13 But when He\, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes\, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole\, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him]\, and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. (AMPC) \nThere is no need to fight and argue. No need to lose the people who are in your life as training coaches and partners as you learn to fight this war. If you are the one who is in the position as the mentor\, remember these things: \n\nDon’t take offense if your mentee rejects your advice.\nDon’t allow your assignment to be altered by your mentee. He/she did not give it to you. God did.\nNo matter how long you have been walking with God\, you don’t know everything\, and you can learn from your mentee if you will be open.\n\nAlways remember\, what comes from the heart reaches the heart. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, there were times when I was younger\, I rejected the advice of those You placed in my life. I did not know then what I know now. Actually\, there have been times after I got older that I rejected sound advice as well. I was still learning. Both times\, I wasn’t walking close enough with You. Thank You for helping me see I wasn’t rejecting them; I was rejecting You. Thank You for growing me up. Thank You for not rejecting me. You stayed with me until I understood You were working on me. Thank You for continuing to send more of Your servants into my life. Thank You for those who love You and want to see me fulfill Your plan for my life. Thank You for those who will speak what they believe is from You\, even if I don’t like it. Now I know to accept what they say in love because they are giving me wisdom\, leading me to You and helping me make godly choices. Now\, if I don’t agree\, I can take what they say to You in prayer and You will give me “the answer”\, might be mine\, might be theirs or it might be a combination of both. You have shown me this is not about who is right and who is wrong. You want to get the glory out of our lives. I repent for not seeing the error of my decisions then. Please keep me from walking down that path again. Father\, I pray for my mentors and partners on this journey. Please replenish their lives with everything they empty out to speak into my life. DESCRIPTION:Titus 2:12 Teaching us that\, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts\, we should live soberly\, righteously\, and godly\, in this present world; (KJV) \nIs your life about you or about the God in you? \nIn this world\, “Just do it” “Make your own way” “Do your own thing” “It’s about me” are the catch phrases for life. This way of thinking is a breeding ground for feeding your flesh. What you have to understand is\, if you spend all of your time feeding your flesh\, then you won’t live righteously. You won’t make godly decisions and God cannot get the glory He desires to get out of your life. Another part of the training\, as you fight this war\, is learning to deny your flesh. Paul describes the conflict in Romans 7: \nRomans 7:21-24 Through my experience of this principle\, I discover that even when I want to do good\, evil is ready to sabotage me. 22 Truly\, deep within my true identity\, I love to do what pleases God. 23 But I discern another power operating in my humanity\, waging a war against the moral principles of my conscience and bringing me into captivity as a prisoner to the “law” of sin—this unwelcome intruder in my humanity. 24 What an agonizing situation I am in! So who has the power to rescue this miserable man from the unwelcome intruder of sin and death? (TPT) \nThis war is always raging. Choosing God over yourself is not always easy. Here are some ways your flesh wins (in case you were wondering): irritated and rash responses; no respect for other people’s feelings; being rude and impatient\, always wanting your way\, inability to listen to someone else’s opinion\, avoiding responsibility\, taking all the credit\, flying off the handle\, etc. There are plenty more that will immediately come to mind if you think about it. However\, there are other ways your flesh wins that may not immediately come to mind. They don’t seem negative. Your desire to give in to worldly pleasures is not their source. They can be deeply emotional things\, like not wanting to make the self-sacrifice to be used by God in a difficult relationship\, making compromises because you want to fit in\, having a limit on how many times you will forgive\, giving inaccurate information on your taxes\, etc. Paul also gives us “the way” of escape: \nRomans 7:25 I give all my thanks to God\, for his mighty power has finally provided a way out through our Lord Jesus\, the Anointed One! So if left to myself\, the flesh is aligned with the law of sin\, but now my renewed mind is fixed on and submitted to God’s righteous principles. (TPT) \nWhat do you have to do in order for your mind to be fixed on and submitted to God’s righteous principles? You have to fast more. It is the best way to crucify your flesh\, and it is necessary. Fleshly responses don’t give God any glory! Whether your desires or worldly or from the heart\, neither give God glory if they are not His will. The ultimate purpose in your life is to glorify God by what you do. Live to fulfill your first purpose. \nEphesians 2:10 10 We have become his poetry\, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us\, for we are joined to Jesus\, the Anointed One. What does “making it right” mean?  \nPsalms 19:12-13 Without this revelation-light\, how would I ever detect the waywardness of my heart? Lord\, forgive my hidden flaws whenever you find them. 13 Keep cleansing me\, God\, \nand keep me from my secret\, selfish sins; may they never rule over me! For only then will I be free from fault and remain innocent of rebellion. (TPT) \nMaking it right could take on many forms. The first thing you need to do is repent. Why? Because you did not really get away with it. The devil is fooling you. In the natural\, it may appear no one knows. However\, in the Spirit\, you have sinned and made your heart dirty. The Lord cannot look upon sin. Repenting is the only way out of the place. Psalms 51 is an amazing passage when you are in this place. Read through it and allow the Lord to forgive you and fill you with joy. Here are a couple of verses that go right to the issue: \nPsalm 51:1 Have mercy upon me\, O God\, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity\, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 6 Behold\, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. \nAfter spending the time with the Lord\, He will direct you as to your next steps\, if any. You may need to give the item back\, confess your wrong(s)\, return the overpayment\, ask for forgiveness\, etc. Keep in mind\, there is one more person who knows what happened besides you\, God knows. Now\, there is no condemnation in God. However\, the Holy Spirit will convict you if you allow Him to have His way; then you go to God because you have sinned against Him\, and allow Him to make your heart right. \nPsalm 51: 10\, 12\, 17 Create in me a clean heart\, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart\, O God\, thou wilt not despise. \nDeal with the spiritual issue and He will help you deal with the natural one. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. There will always be people who have the “it’s all about me” attitude. They have become their own idol. You see it when you watch the news or read the news. You see it in your home and at your job. It really does not matter where you find yourself\, you see it. Sadly\, you can even see it in the church. I don’t know if it is fair to say that this personality is more dangerous in the church than in other places. However\, it is what I believe. There is a different expectation in the church. You don’t believe you will run into spiritual leaders who have no boundaries\, no conscious or compassion. If that is you\, ask God to show you and help you. \nPhilippians 2:3-5 Be free from pride-filled opinions\, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts\, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves. 4 Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. 5 And consider the example that Jesus\, the Anointed One\, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation. (TPT) \nThere is nothing wrong with being charismatic and wanting to be accepted. There is nothing wrong with having goals and running after them. Just be careful and take the time to know what is motivating you and how you are setting your goals. This is invaluable training. Evaluate everything that inspires you and get to the place where you deny your own flesh\, then God can use you.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. (NLT) \nAre you murmuring and faultfinding? \nWhen you think about a prideful person\, what comes to mind? Believe it or not\, people who are full of pride constantly stand in judgement. They continually make assessments of themselves and everything around them. They make comparisons at every level\, and they are often very unconstructive. You don’t want to be the type of person who has a negative outlook. That negativity often comes from comparing what you think with the thoughts and activities of others.  \nWhat is the benefit of looking around to see what someone else has that you don’t have? Or what you have that someone else does not have? It is a trick of the enemy. That is the first step into apostacy (renouncing Christianity’s beliefs and principles). The devil wants you to spend all of your time assessing\, judging and comparing that you become puffed up\, angry and/or disillusioned with God. First you start subtly pointing out differences. Then it gets more intense until that is all you do. You find things that are wrong at home\, at the office\, at the church\, with your boss\, with the pastor\, with the policies\, the procedures\, and anything and everything else.  \nThe sad thing is your negative conversation is for promoting yourself because you are full of pride. You would have done it differently and you could do it better. All the while\, the devil is sitting back\, rubbing his hands and laughing. His next trap for you to step into is to engage in competition for a position or a title. You will use what you consider as your strengths and abilities\, and you will say and do things to curry favor.  \nIf you are that person\, you will also find you spend more time complaining about God than celebrating God. You will be busy trying to scheme and work to attain what Jesus already paid the price for. (Read Isaiah 14:12-21) Stop right now and ask God for forgiveness and deliverance. You may have lost the joy and the peace\, gained by the victory of the cross\, for a time. It does not have to stay that way. \nEzekiel 36:26-27 A new heart also will I give you\, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh\, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you\, and cause you to walk in my statutes\, and ye shall keep my judgments\, and do them. I know You have called me to a position of influence. I also can persuade people because You allow them to see me as confident and self-assured. It does not matter if I actually am as confident as they think. I never want my attitude and comments to taint someone. I know I can come to You and confess and You will wash me. Before now I have not thought about the person I affected? I might have left them in that place. I repent for my words and actions\, and I ask You to touch them now and remove any damage that I may have done. Help me see You at work\, in everything and in everyone. Help me encourage others to follow and to obey Your word and Your voice only. I don’t want to be the one who is pulling others away because of my feelings or opinions. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for wisdom. Your word instructs me not to be ignorant of satan’s devices and to be alert and aware of his activity. Your wisdom allows me to accomplish what You have commanded. If I will remain steadfast in my study\, the devil cannot trick me and deceive me with questions I don’t know the answer to. I will continue to spend time with You. Thank You\, Father God\, for calling me to a place where I seek the scriptures for answers and not man. I sorry for saying\, “that is what I was told; that is how it has always been done; I am not sure why I do this\, or I was just following what everyone else was doing\,” and thinking any of those answers was OK. I repent for not spending the time I needed to give an answer that glorifies You. I spend time with You now\, and I can give a reason for the hope I have\, for the walk I walk\, and for the faith I place in You. I know the enemy is crafty. I will live in You and not allow ignorance and insecurity to be his way into my life. DESCRIPTION:2 Timothy 4:3 3 For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing]\, they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another\, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold\, (AMP) \nAre you always being challenged\, not being changed? \nThere are people who go to the gym socially and have no intention of really training to achieve a goal. They go in order to say with pride\, “I work out as at the gym for an hour at least three times a week.” The problem is\, those who see them don’t see a change in their physique that a person would get from an hour-long workout three times a week. \nThere are people who attend church who have no intention of pursuing a deeper relationship with the Lord. They follow the same pattern as the one going to the gym. The problem is\, you can’t be transformed if you never apply what is being said. It is not enough to only sit and listen. \nYou can get every inspirational book and CD available. The purchases make it appear as if you are interested in growing. However\, do you read the books and listen to the CDs\, or do you just want to make yourself “feel” spiritual? You might find a place\, church\, ministry\, etc. where you can get a title and a position based on who you are pretending to be. However\, when the time comes\, and you are challenged and motivated to grow; do you change\, or do you leave? \nJames 1:22-25 But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts]\, and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning]\, deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth]. 23 For if anyone only listens to the word without obeying it\, he is like a man who looks very carefully at his natural face in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away\, he immediately forgets what he looked like. 25 But he who looks carefully into the perfect law\, the law of liberty\, and faithfully abides by it\, not having become a [careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys]\, he will be blessed and favored by God in what he does [in his life of obedience]. (AMP) \nWhatever day you decide that being challenged is not enough\, you will allow the Lord’s transformation process to begin. If you are chasing after God\, there is a still voice whispering to you\, “This is the way\, walk therein.” (Isaiah 30:21). Your job is to obey.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for writing the word on my heart. I long to be surrounded by people who are running hard after You. Thank You for keeping me grounded. The small amount I know does not put me in a place where I can coast along until You return. I’ve been in several meetings and trainings that truly challenged me. However\, I didn’t always leave those meetings and apply what I had heard\, and I did not change. I repent. I am sorry and I will work not to let that happen again. Lord\, I want to know You more. You are calling me to a place of spirituality and releasing me from the bondage of religion. Help me stand when I am being stretched. I don’t want to give up because I think it is too hard. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful. (ESV) \n\nWhen what you want\, and how you will get it\, motivates and drives you. \n\nRomans 2:6-8 He will render to each one according to his works: 7 to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality\, he will give eternal life; 8 but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth\, but obey unrighteousness\, there will be wrath and fury. (ESV) \nWhether you do one of these things\, a combination of them\, or you do something that is not on the list; if you are your focus\, there is no room for God. You don’t have to say\, “There is no God.” Why? Because you don’t give Him praise for the things He has done in your life or through your life. You don’t share your thoughts about Him and speak of how He has guided your wishes and desires. Actually\, you don’t talk about Him. You leave Him out because He would interfere with “your” plans. Before you realize it\, your own desires have enticed you and pulled you away. You have broken your promise to obey God’s will. As Paul encourages\, examine yourself every day.  \nPsalm 139:23-24 God\, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares. 24 See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on\, and lead me back to your glorious\, everlasting way — the path that brings me back to you. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I repent for every time I have\, in my actions\, in my attitude and/or in my conversation said\, “There is no God”. I repent and I ask You to forgive me. Please continue to cause me to focus on the fact that You Are God and not my personal assistant and butler. Even when things are not going how I want them to go\, remind me\, in whatever way that You deem necessary\, You are in control. You are the same God today\, yesterday\, and forevermore. Help me act like I know You don’t stop being God because I have a situation\, a problem\, or an issue. Continue to remind me that my life is not mine to direct\, and it is not about me\, not now and not ever. It is about the vision that You have for the world that Jesus died for and how You will use me to do my part to bring it to pass. Whatever I am going through\, You can get the glory from\, if I allow You to.
