DESCRIPTION:Matthew 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. (KJV) \nDo you have extra oil? \nWhat does it mean to be prepared? The Bible tells you to be alert and aware as you fight in this spiritual war. You need to recognize the devil’s schemes\, plots\, and plans. You need to know what you’re dealing with and equip yourself for each battle you fight in this war.  \n1 Peter 5:8-9b Be well balanced (temperate\, sober of mind)\, be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours\, the devil\, roams around like a lion [roaring in fierce hunger]\, seeking someone to seize upon and devour. 9 Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset—rooted\, established\, strong\, immovable\, and determined]\, (AMPC) \nThe greatest strategists in the world examine their enemies. They understand their opponent’s inner workings and methodologies. Great football coaches watch the film clips of the next team they will compete against. Boxers watch videos of the boxer they’re going to be fighting next. These tactics and practices are invaluable to you as well.  \nMatthew 24:43  But you should know this: If the owner of a house had known his house was about to be broken into\, he would have stayed up all night\, vigilantly. He would have kept watch\, and he would have thwarted the thief. (TVT) \nFrom the day the Lord saved you\, you became a soldier in His army. You have fought in this war\, whether spiritual leaders taught you or trained you\, or if you just went it alone. You had to because your enemy\, satan; the devil stalked you. Now you know it is your spiritual responsibility to understand how the enemy works in your life and what tools you have to combat him. This is what it means to be prepared. This is how you bring extra oil. Your lamp doesn’t have to run out. You do not have to become a casualty of war. As a side thought\, ask yourself these two questions:  \n\nWhat causes your lamp to flicker?\nWhat causes you to burn your oil faster?\n\nYou get ready by diligently seeking God. You prepare and get additional oil for your lamp when you spend dedicated time in prayer. The Father will help you examine your activities to see how the enemy comes against you. Not only will He show you how\, He will show you when and where\, enabling you to be ready. When the enemy comes in like a flood\, you can lift up a standard if you still have oil for your lamp.  \nThe greatest incentive is if you keep oil in your lamp\, you can be ready when the King comes. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for preparing me. I will have oil when You come. I thank You for Your power. Your Spirit flows through me to replenish and refresh me. I repent for the doors I have opened and how the enemy has used those entry ways to exploit me. Thank You for forgiveness and being faithful to speak to me and draw me. Please continue to deliver me and help me allow You to close those doors. Your presence shines a light in the darkness. I can see the devil at work trying to destroy my life. I want to understand how he can still trap me and how he has tricked me in the past. I want to be diligent in my time with You\, which will make it difficult for him to trick and trap me in the same ways repeatedly. I want to draw closer to You\, then I can see the enemy through Your eyes. I want to see what new tricks he is planning against me and confound him by Your Spirit. I want to stand victorious in this fight. Father\, I know You could stop the enemy from attacking me. Help me not to become shaky when You don’t. I know You are developing me. Thank You for every preparedness drill because I learn from them\, and I am trained by them. I thank You for the revelation that this is spiritual warfare. I can win. DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not realize that your body by design is the sacred shrine of the spirit of God; he echoed God within you. Your body does not even belong to you in the first place! (TMB) \nWhat kind of temple are you asking God to dwell in? \nDo you think about this scripture from time to time? Often\, it is used to discourage what ministry leaders and religious leaders consider as the “major” sins: adultery\, smoking\, fornicating\, drinking; you know the list. Please know this: there are no top sins that contaminate the body. All sin contaminates the body. This body is not your own\, it belongs to God. When you accepted His invitation\, you allowed Him to come and dwell within you.  \nRomans 8:10-11 If Christ lives in you\, though your [natural] body is dead because of sin\, your spirit is alive because of righteousness [which He provides]. 11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you\, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit\, who lives in you. (AMP) \nYou are no longer just His creation\, now you are His place of residence. This is not your body\, alone. You should not take it anywhere and everywhere. You should not do anything and everything with it\, nor to it. You should honor it as the home of God. This is a test you get to pass every day. The goal here is to treat your body as God’s temple. You may have\, up to now\, rationalized and reasoned a way to continue to live your life the way you have been. Please ask God to show you those things that you need to allow Him to fix.  \n1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Don’t you understand that together you form a temple to the living God and His Spirit lives among you? To determine if you are treating it in the way it should be treated; listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. (TVT) \nNot only do you want your body to be the place where God dwells\, you also want Him to take pleasure in dwelling there. As you read the Old Testament (Exodus 25–31)\, you see how God designed and crafted the Temple. You could spend a wonderful time of study  and get revelation to better understand the function of the temple and the intricacy of its design. Then you could make the correlation between the physical temple and your body. This will help make God feel welcome.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. I know I don’t always treat it in a way that pleases You. I repent for doing the wrong things with it\, for it\, and to it. I also repent for using it to take You places I know You didn’t want to be. I do desire for You to enjoy dwelling within me. I ask You\, Father\, to continue to show me those things You need to fix and those things You need to change. I want You to take joy in dwelling in this earthen vessel. I only want to take Your temple to places it needs to be where You can be at peace. DESCRIPTION:Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh\, but in the Spirit\, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ\, he is none of his. (KJV) \nAre you flesh-consciousness or spirit-consciousness? \nToday’s question is good. What does it mean? It is simply asking if you know when you are being ruled by your flesh or by God’s Spirit? How would you know? Here are some examples of how you would act if you were being ruled by your flesh. You would: \n\nAlways have yourself as the center of your actions.\nDo good deeds because you are hoping to be seen and celebrated.\nRespond to situations based on emotion only.\nSay the right thing because the right person is listening\, not because it’s in your heart. \nDo anything (i.e.\, lie\, cheat\, steal\, kill\, etc.) to get what you wanted\, even if it meant hurting someone else.\n\nGalatians 5:16 But I say\, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance]\, and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. (AMP) \nWhen you walk according to the word\, you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. If you accepted salvation\, God’s Spirit is in you. Are you able to process this truth? Are you able to embrace this truth: “the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you”? If you can\, you will see yourself as God’s image on the earth. Please understand\, you are the only God some people will ever experience. With this in mind\, do not govern yourself and deal with people according to your flesh. Passing these training tests will carry you far as you war with the enemy\, and also as you seek to represent The Father. Those who are babes in Christ\, or even those who don’t know Christ\, will know if you are approaching them with God’s Spirit in activation (from a real place) or if you are not. They can tell if you are acting exactly like them.  \nLuke 6:45 People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their hearts\, good and upright people will produce good fruit. But out of the evil hidden in their hearts\, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words. (TPT) \nYour heart reveals how much you have allowed the Spirit of God to rule you. You want your actions and your words to cause wonder. How are you able to respond this way? How are you able to do what you’ve done or give the way you do? Whether or not someone asks you; you know you act the way you do because you have the Spirit of God living within you. His Spirit is love. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, in the name of Jesus\, I am sorry and repentant because I lived constantly aware of what the devil was doing. Thank You for reminding me not only should I be aware of what You are doing in the world; I should also be aware of what You are doing in me. Thank You for Your Spirit. I thank You for thinking enough of me to send Jesus to die for me. I am excited\, amazed\, and humbled every time I think about the power that I now have because of salvation. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now dwells within me. I thank You\, Father God\, for the liberty and the grace to allow Your Spirit to shine forth in all of my interactions. As I submit to You\, Your Spirit can bring my flesh under subjection. I have the power to refuse what looks right or what feels right according to my flesh or the world’s standards. I submit myself to You. My desire is to glorify You. Continue to mold and shape my life. I want the world to see You through me. DESCRIPTION:2 Timothy 3:5 “Having a form of godliness\, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (KJV) \nAre you living a life God can use to bring conviction? \nWhen you live a life that glorifies God\, those who are unsaved recognize it and respect you for it. They will say “I’m sorry” when they curse around you and that kind of thing. However\, it is different with “church people.” It can be like walking through a military mine field when you have to deal with people who want you to believe they are spiritual when they are not. What they really are is religious. This is great training!  \nReligious people say hallelujah at the right time. They can hold their hands up in the right way. They have the right expression on their faces when the word is being preached\, or a song is being sung. However\, there is no power in their lives. You should not desire to be a part of their circle\, no matter how influential or powerful their circle is. Also\, before you step over into judgement\, your only task is to live before them. You are not to engage in “instructional conversations.”  \nTitus 3:8-9 This is a faithful saying\, and these things I want you to affirm constantly\, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. 9 But avoid foolish disputes\, genealogies\, contentions\, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. (NKJV) \nSimply allow God to be God in your life as you interact with them. Whether they are a member of the church you attend\, your prayer group or on your job; verbal conversation is not the way to reach them unless it is a God-ordained encounter. Let your light shine in your walk\, your talk\, and your responses to situations. Allow God to bring conviction. He is the only One who can bring them to a true and real relationship with Him. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for the people You have allowed to be a part of my life that test my relationship with You. Thank You for showing me it is not my job to correct them. It is not my responsibility to engage in conversations that lead to debate. I repent for walking down that path more than once or twice. Thank You for correcting me and showing me Your way of living. I want to be spiritual and not religious. I know I will have to make more sacrifices\, give up connections\, and sometimes walk alone. I know I will have to examine myself every day to be sure my love for You is pure. I thank You for every opportunity You give me to see who I am. Sometimes those opportunities are painful\, however I know they are necessary. My prayer is for everyone to see You when they look at me. I want to live a life where whomever is looking will see Your power and recognize Your undeniable anointing on my life. I pray\, Father\, that those\, who I encounter\, would be drawn to a place where they seek You even more. DESCRIPTION:John 3:5 Jesus answered\, Verily\, verily\, I say unto thee\, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit\, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (KJV) \nAre you sharing the gospel with those who are kind\, yet not saved? \nEveryone who wants to see God must be born of the Spirit. Because we are all born into sin and shaped in iniquity (Psalms 51:5)\, God’s desire for everyone is that we are born again. As a servant of God\, you should also want everyone to be a part of His Kingdom. However\, there’s no way in without being born again. You probably know really pleasant people\, kind people\, philanthropic people who would do anything for anybody. You may meet rich people who believe they can take care of anything in their lives\, themselves. Their feelings do not change the word. There’s no way around it. You must be born again. Read Matthew 19:16-22\, 24 (NKJV):  \nNow behold\, one came and said to Him\, “Good Teacher\, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” 17 So He said to him\, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One\, that is\, God. But if you want to enter into life\, keep the commandments.” 18 He said to Him\, “Which ones?” Jesus said\, “You shall not murder\, You shall not commit adultery\, You shall not steal\, You shall not bear false witness\, 19 Honor your father and your mother\, and\, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20 The young man said to Him\, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus said to him\, “If you want to be perfect\, go\, sell what you have and give to the poor\, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come\, follow Me.” 22 But when the young man heard that saying\, he went away sorrowful\, for he had great possessions. 24 And again I say to you\, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. \nSome training processes are easier than others\, this one can be uncomfortable. Just know\, you will be the better for it. It is not about who anyone is or what anyone does in the natural; it’s about the Spirit. Remember\, people do not earn salvation. As you go through life\, meeting\, interacting with and coming to know and love people who are not saved\, never forget this truth. Also\, rich does not just mean financial. Strong’s Concordance translates the word “rich” as wealth (or fulness). The definition is literally money or possessions\, figuratively\, as abundance or richness\, and specifically having a valuable bestowment.  \nBecause of what God did for you\, you want them to know He will do the same for them\, whether or not they think they need Him. Though you want to take advantage of every opportunity to witness and to share the gospel\, make sure you do not leave out those who are wealthy.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. I also thank You for those the world considers as nice/wealthy people. I thank You for the open door into their lives. Now I can show them You. Help me not to disqualify myself because I don’t think I am in their league. Please give me words of wisdom and godly confidence. Often\, it’s difficult for me to speak to people who seem to be naturally or instinctively kind. I know it can also be hard for them to understand their need for You. Father God\, You have the words. You have a way I can use to shine a light ino their lives and show them what they are missing without You. I ask You for those words. DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 2:14 The Soulish man has no capacity to comprehend the language of the Spirit of God; spiritual things seem meaningless to him; he is incapable to discern that which can only be spiritually appreciated. (TMB) \nHave you stopped sharing God because of rejection? \nDo you sometimes talk to someone about God\, Who He is\, what He has done and continues to do for the world\, and specifically what He has done in your life? Do you share the godly choices you’re making because of Him? Do you find they look at you as if you’re crazy? What do you do? Do you stop and ask yourself\, “why are they looking at me with that strange expression on their face”? Or do you keep sharing? Please keep in mind\, if they don’t know Christ\, they have no way of comprehending what you’re talking about. Often they cannot or do not celebrate with you because they can only receive your word if they have a soft heart and/or have had a spiritual encounter with the Lord. Otherwise\, they are not there. This is not a character assessment; it is spiritual. Don’t stop sharing. \n1 Corinthians 3:7-9 So neither is the one who plants nor the one who waters anything\, but [only] God who causes the growth. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one [in importance and esteem\, working toward the same purpose]; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers [His servants working together]; you are God’s cultivated field [His garden\, His vineyard]\, God’s building. (AMP) \nIf someone is open to listen\, continue to share. You never know if what you are saying will plant\, water\, or fertilize. You don’t know where they are in the process. God does. Take advantage of every opportunity to testify about who God is and what He has done in your life. Be mindful not to be antagonistic when you interact. However\, if they’re willing to listen\, share. This is a big test in your process. Rejection is not an easy thing to snap back from. Don’t allow the enemy to whisper in your ears\, keep sharing. God can and will keep you. Always remember\, your testimony is drawing them. Then God will save them. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for every opportunity to lift You up\, to share the gospel\, to talk about who You are and what You’ve done. I understand the one I am witnessing to often will not readily express belief and celebrate the information I provide. You encourage me by telling me one plants\, one waters\, and You give the increase. You are the One who draws and Who saves. I will continue to share. I know I don’t have the big picture. I know I don’t know what path a person is on. You know. Please forgive me for not taking advantage of the opportunities You present before me. DESCRIPTION:Hebrews 10:25 In the light of our free access to the FATHER\, let us extend that embrace to one another. Our gatherings are no longer a repetition of tradition but an essential fellowship where we remind one another of our true identity. Let us do so with greater urgency now the day has dawned in our understanding. (TMB) \nAre you consistently assembling yourself with fellow believers? \n(KJV) of Hebrews 10:25 states: \n25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together\, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more\, as ye see the day approaching. \nAt any given time\, after you have missed a couple of church services\, this is the one scripture quoted to you. Pastors preach this scripture across the pulpit for the same reason. They remind you the Bible says you are to “come to church”. Please keep in mind\, within the walls of a church building is not the only place you can assemble yourself with believers. The COVID-19 pandemic proved that to us all. You can assemble yourself for worship\, Bible study and prayer\, in person\, through videoconferencing\, and/or telephone conferencing.  \nWhat is the idea behind Hebrews 10:25? You should make it a practice to gather\, be it in person or not\, with other believers in order to encourage them\, and for them to encourage you to live a life that gives God glory. When you assemble yourself with other believers; you help them as they go through their training for this spiritual war\, and they help you. It is not about tradition and repetition. It is about sharing the love of Christ with those who also love Christ. It is about being in a place where you can lift someone up\, as they are in this battle and on this walk. You realize other people get discouraged just like you. You can share your victories and get prayer for your times of trial. The reason you need to come together is for support as you continue your individual and collective journeys. You are easy prey when you try to do this alone. It is not about church\, church programs\, or church activities. It is about God and your ability to share His love anytime and anywhere.  \n1 Thessalonians 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together\, and edify one another\, even as also ye do. (KJV) \nKeep this in mind\, if you don’t have a Bible study\, a work prayer group\, a prayer line or any other venue where believers gather\, find one. You need to be with fellow believers. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather God\, I thank You for revelation on Your word. I thank You for the bondage being broken. Now\, my desire to assemble with fellow believers is from a heartfelt place You created. I will not attend church\, or be a member of a church\, because of guilt\, torment or demand. I will willingly and joyously come together to share and receive Your love with those who are like-minded. I celebrate the fact that I can be in a coffee shop\, at the café\, on the internet\, on the job\, at a place of worship or wherever You give me the opportunity. Father\, I thank You for the freedom to come together to encourage other believers\, and they can encourage me. I thank You for the liberty as well because everyone does not have it. Did you decide not to talk to them anymore because of what they said to you? Did you end the conversation because they didn’t see it your way? Did you separate yourself\, possibly your friendship\, and continue on the path you were on prior to the wisdom provided for you?  \nProverbs 1:7 The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is\, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline. (AMP) \nThere is a wonderful thing about the friends God placed in your life. They don’t require you to agree with their recommendations. However\, you can always agree on the fact that they want to see God’s best manifested in your life. You do not base your relationship with God\, and with those He places in your life\, completely on a set of rules\, ideas\, and theologies. You can believe you have identified truth and gotten revelation from the Bible\, yet you can still miss the power of God. To continue in love and grow through grace\, don’t reduce all of Christianity to your philosophy and your understanding. Allow the power of God to be revealed in the fullness of time. You must receive wisdom\, humbly. \n1 Corinthians 13:9-10 For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect)\, and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect). 10 But when the complete and perfect (total) comes\, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated\, void\, and superseded). (AMPC) \nIf you continue to separate yourself\, you will soon find yourself alone and a prime target for the enemy to pick you off. Therefore\, don’t be unfriendly. Don’t ignore God’s voice when He speaks through your friends because you don’t like sound wisdom; you think they are wrong; you think they don’t understand; or you think they are picking on you. You can agree to disagree. \nJohn 16:13 But when He\, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes\, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole\, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him]\, and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. (AMPC) \nThere is no need to fight and argue. No need to lose the people who are in your life as training coaches and partners as you learn to fight this war. If you are the one who is in the position as the mentor\, remember these things: \n\nDon’t take offense if your mentee rejects your advice.\nDon’t allow your assignment to be altered by your mentee. He/she did not give it to you. God did.\nNo matter how long you have been walking with God\, you don’t know everything\, and you can learn from your mentee if you will be open.\n\nAlways remember\, what comes from the heart reaches the heart. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. I did not know then what I know now. Actually\, there have been times after I got older that I rejected sound advice as well. I was still learning. Both times\, I wasn’t walking close enough with You. Thank You for helping me see I wasn’t rejecting them; I was rejecting You. Thank You for growing me up. Thank You for not rejecting me. You stayed with me until I understood You were working on me. Thank You for continuing to send more of Your servants into my life. Thank You for those who love You and want to see me fulfill Your plan for my life. Thank You for those who will speak what they believe is from You\, even if I don’t like it. Now I know to accept what they say in love because they are giving me wisdom\, leading me to You and helping me make godly choices. Now\, if I don’t agree\, I can take what they say to You in prayer and You will give me “the answer”\, might be mine\, might be theirs or it might be a combination of both. You have shown me this is not about who is right and who is wrong. You want to get the glory out of our lives. I repent for not seeing the error of my decisions then. DESCRIPTION:Titus 2:12 Teaching us that\, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts\, we should live soberly\, righteously\, and godly\, in this present world; (KJV) \nIs your life about you or about the God in you? \nIn this world\, “Just do it” “Make your own way” “Do your own thing” “It’s about me” are the catch phrases for life. This way of thinking is a breeding ground for feeding your flesh. What you have to understand is\, if you spend all of your time feeding your flesh\, then you won’t live righteously. You won’t make godly decisions and God cannot get the glory He desires to get out of your life. Another part of the training\, as you fight this war\, is learning to deny your flesh. Paul describes the conflict in Romans 7: \nRomans 7:21-24 Through my experience of this principle\, I discover that even when I want to do good\, evil is ready to sabotage me. 22 Truly\, deep within my true identity\, I love to do what pleases God. 23 But I discern another power operating in my humanity\, waging a war against the moral principles of my conscience and bringing me into captivity as a prisoner to the “law” of sin—this unwelcome intruder in my humanity. 24 What an agonizing situation I am in! So who has the power to rescue this miserable man from the unwelcome intruder of sin and death? (TPT) \nThis war is always raging. Choosing God over yourself is not always easy. Here are some ways your flesh wins (in case you were wondering): irritated and rash responses; no respect for other people’s feelings; being rude and impatient\, always wanting your way\, inability to listen to someone else’s opinion\, avoiding responsibility\, taking all the credit\, flying off the handle\, etc. There are plenty more that will immediately come to mind if you think about it. However\, there are other ways your flesh wins that may not immediately come to mind. They don’t seem negative. Your desire to give in to worldly pleasures is not their source. They can be deeply emotional things\, like not wanting to make the self-sacrifice to be used by God in a difficult relationship\, making compromises because you want to fit in\, having a limit on how many times you will forgive\, giving inaccurate information on your taxes\, etc. Paul also gives us “the way” of escape: \nRomans 7:25 I give all my thanks to God\, for his mighty power has finally provided a way out through our Lord Jesus\, the Anointed One! So if left to myself\, the flesh is aligned with the law of sin\, but now my renewed mind is fixed on and submitted to God’s righteous principles. (TPT) \nWhat do you have to do in order for your mind to be fixed on and submitted to God’s righteous principles? You have to fast more. It is the best way to crucify your flesh\, and it is necessary. Fleshly responses don’t give God any glory! Whether your desires or worldly or from the heart\, neither give God glory if they are not His will. The ultimate purpose in your life is to glorify God by what you do. Live to fulfill your first purpose. \nEphesians 2:10 10 We have become his poetry\, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us\, for we are joined to Jesus\, the Anointed One. Even before we were born\, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it! (TPT) \nPlease agree with me as I pray. I repent for accepting the world’s way of doing things. You continually show me the danger of compromise. You also show me the danger of emotional wants that are not fulfilled and the bitterness that can set in. You have shown me though I may treat others poorly because I am bitter; it is You I am angry at because You did not do what I wanted. I am sorry I brought shame to Your name. Thank You for guiding me to live a fasting life. If I do\, I will crucify my flesh and the lust attached and give You glory. Please continue to draw me\, examine me\, and show me the condition of my heart. Help me seek You more and spend more time with You. DESCRIPTION:Proverbs 14:9 Fools make fun of guilt\, but the godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation. (NLT) \nAre you happy you got away with it? \nIsn’t it great to have milestones to test how you are progressing? Glad you think so. Here is another one. Are there times when you did something you knew was wrong\, and you thought you got away with it. Only foolish people would revel in that experience. Those who love God would want to make it right. What does “making it right” mean?  \nPsalms 19:12-13 Without this revelation-light\, how would I ever detect the waywardness of my heart? Lord\, forgive my hidden flaws whenever you find them. 13 Keep cleansing me\, God\, \nand keep me from my secret\, selfish sins; may they never rule over me! For only then will I be free from fault and remain innocent of rebellion. (TPT) \nMaking it right could take on many forms. The first thing you need to do is repent. Why? Because you did not really get away with it. The devil is fooling you. In the natural\, it may appear no one knows. However\, in the Spirit\, you have sinned and made your heart dirty. The Lord cannot look upon sin. Repenting is the only way out of the place. Psalms 51 is an amazing passage when you are in this place. Read through it and allow the Lord to forgive you and fill you with joy. Here are a couple of verses that go right to the issue: \nPsalm 51:1 Have mercy upon me\, O God\, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity\, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 6 Behold\, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. \nAfter spending the time with the Lord\, He will direct you as to your next steps\, if any. You may need to give the item back\, confess your wrong(s)\, return the overpayment\, ask for forgiveness\, etc. Keep in mind\, there is one more person who knows what happened besides you\, God knows. Now\, there is no condemnation in God. However\, the Holy Spirit will convict you if you allow Him to have His way; then you go to God because you have sinned against Him\, and allow Him to make your heart right. \nPsalm 51: 10\, 12\, 17 Create in me a clean heart\, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart\, O God\, thou wilt not despise. \nDeal with the spiritual issue and He will help you deal with the natural one. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. God can train you to do the same things with those you interact with. You rely on the Holy Spirit and use discernment.  \nThe world uses the word friend as a catchphrase for everyone they know; you need clarity when you talk about your friends. For the sake of this devotional\, the word “friend” refers to the people you allow into your inner circle; those you share your life with; those who help you make tough decisions; and those who can speak into your heart\, especially when you’re feeling low. \nWith that understanding\, you need a friend who will tell you when you’re wrong\, remind you “what” you believe\, “Who” you believe in\, and “Who” you belong to. \n  \n\n\n\nReal Friends\nCounterfeit Friends\n\n\nKeep you from making the mistake of accusing God\, blaming God\, or making your situation about what God has not done.\nCommiserate with you\, tell you God is mad at you\, and fail to lead you into the presence of God. \n\n\nHelp you realize your circumstances are really about what God is trying to do in\, with\, and through you.\nHelp you identify how and why\, you have been mistreated\, who mistreated you\, and what you should do about it.\n\n\nRequire that you remember God is in \ncontrol and He loves you.\nTell you to take control of your own situation and do what needs to be done.\n\n\n\n  \nJob 2:9-10 Then his wife said to him\, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? (AMP) \nIf you can be a friend of God\, you will have no problem being a friend to anyone else. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Those who care enough about me to tell me when I am wrong. I thank You for putting people in my life who are concerned about my spiritual growth; and they identify my missteps in actions\, conversation\, and in attitude. I repent for not honoring You by appreciating them more. I am sorry. Without those people\, I know I would prolong the training I’m currently in. Thank You for the people You placed in my path\, who love me enough to show me You no matter what I am going through. DESCRIPTION:2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves\, covetous\, boasters\, proud\, blasphemers\, disobedient to parents\, unthankful\, unholy\, (KJV) \nDo you have an “it’s all about me” attitude? \nIf Jesus has not returned\, it does not matter what year someone reads this devotional\, today’s text will continue to prophesy. There will always be people who have the “it’s all about me” attitude. They have become their own idol. You see it when you watch the news or read the news. You see it in your home and at your job. It really does not matter where you find yourself\, you see it. Sadly\, you can even see it in the church. I don’t know if it is fair to say that this personality is more dangerous in the church than in other places. However\, it is what I believe. There is a different expectation in the church. You don’t believe you will run into spiritual leaders who have no boundaries\, no conscious or compassion. If that is you\, ask God to show you and help you. \nPhilippians 2:3-5 Be free from pride-filled opinions\, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts\, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves. 4 Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. 5 And consider the example that Jesus\, the Anointed One\, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation. (TPT) \nThere is nothing wrong with being charismatic and wanting to be accepted. There is nothing wrong with having goals and running after them. Just be careful and take the time to know what is motivating you and how you are setting your goals. This is invaluable training. Evaluate everything that inspires you and get to the place where you deny your own flesh\, then God can use you.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Because You know me\, You know every place where I would allow the enemy to erect an idol within me. Lord\, please forgive me for living like I cared more about You\, when I actually cared more about myself. Keep reminding me of Your love for me\, then I can show love to others. Keep reminding me of Your acceptance of me; then I won’t compromise to be accepted and I won’t reject others. Keep reminding me of the work You have called me to\, and I won’t take it for granted. I never want to be found with an ungrateful and selfish heart. You have taught me You resist the proud and give grace to the humble. I am excited that I can make my boast in You. I can celebrate what You have done in my life and not be prideful. DESCRIPTION:Jude 16 These people are grumblers and complainers\, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves\, and they flatter others to get what they want. (NLT) \nAre you murmuring and faultfinding? \nWhen you think about a prideful person\, what comes to mind? Believe it or not\, people who are full of pride constantly stand in judgement. They continually make assessments of themselves and everything around them. They make comparisons at every level\, and they are often very unconstructive. You don’t want to be the type of person who has a negative outlook. That negativity often comes from comparing what you think with the thoughts and activities of others.  \nWhat is the benefit of looking around to see what someone else has that you don’t have? Or what you have that someone else does not have? It is a trick of the enemy. That is the first step into apostacy (renouncing Christianity’s beliefs and principles). The devil wants you to spend all of your time assessing\, judging and comparing that you become puffed up\, angry and/or disillusioned with God. First you start subtly pointing out differences. Then it gets more intense until that is all you do. You find things that are wrong at home\, at the office\, at the church\, with your boss\, with the pastor\, with the policies\, the procedures\, and anything and everything else.  \nThe sad thing is your negative conversation is for promoting yourself because you are full of pride. You would have done it differently and you could do it better. All the while\, the devil is sitting back\, rubbing his hands and laughing. His next trap for you to step into is to engage in competition for a position or a title. You will use what you consider as your strengths and abilities\, and you will say and do things to curry favor.  \nIf you are that person\, you will also find you spend more time complaining about God than celebrating God. You will be busy trying to scheme and work to attain what Jesus already paid the price for. (Read Isaiah 14:12-21) Stop right now and ask God for forgiveness and deliverance. You may have lost the joy and the peace\, gained by the victory of the cross\, for a time. It does not have to stay that way. \nEzekiel 36:26-27 A new heart also will I give you\, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh\, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you\, and cause you to walk in my statutes\, and ye shall keep my judgments\, and do them. (KJV) \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, help me recognize when I’m being negative\, and when I am being prideful. I know You have called me to a position of influence. I also can persuade people because You allow them to see me as confident and self-assured. It does not matter if I actually am as confident as they think. I never want my attitude and comments to taint someone. I know I can come to You and confess and You will wash me. Before now I have not thought about the person I affected? I might have left them in that place. I repent for my words and actions\, and I ask You to touch them now and remove any damage that I may have done. Help me see You at work\, in everything and in everyone. Help me encourage others to follow and to obey Your word and Your voice only. I don’t want to be the one who is pulling others away because of my feelings or opinions. Bridle my tongue when I am overwhelmed. I want to build up and not tear down. Father God\, I want You to use me for Your glory. I don’t want to wonder what Jesus would do. I need You to help me talk like Jesus did. Help me walk like Jesus did. Help me act like Jesus did. (KJV) \nAre you taking the time to know God for yourself? \nIf you truly want to be equipped for battle\, your life experiences will send you to the word\, where you will look for answers to everyday problems. It is an important part of your training. It is necessary to go to the word because that is how you come to know the God you believe in and serve. You have to study\, pray\, and be in continual communion with the Lord. If you do\, you will know. You will also be able to resist when someone who is deceitful and crafty comes to draw you away from the truth.  \n1 John 2:26-28  I also am writing to warn you about some who are attempting to deceive you. 27 You have an anointing. You received it from Him\, and His anointing remains on you. You do not need any other teacher. But as His anointing instructs you in all the essentials (all the truth uncontaminated by darkness and lies)\, it teaches you this: “Remain connected to Him.” 28 So now\, my little children\, live in Him\, so that whenever He is revealed\, we will have confidence and not have to hang our heads in shame before Him when He comes. (TVT) \nDo you understand what happened to Eve in the garden? The Bible says the devil deceived her. It does not say she disobeyed. (1 Timothy 2:14). The devil preyed on her ignorance and on her insecurity. She was not sure what the Lord said\, and she was not content with what the Lord had done. She wanted more\, which is amazing because she already had more; she just did not know it. Had she been sure of God’s plan\, provision and promises\, she would not have fallen into transgression. Many say she sinned. Those two by themselves are bad enough. When you put both of them together\, they are dangerous at another level. You don’t want to be in a place where the enemy can say to you\, “Did God really say…” You want to say to the enemy\, just as Jesus did\, “It is written.” \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I thank You for wisdom. Your word instructs me not to be ignorant of satan’s devices and to be alert and aware of his activity. Your wisdom allows me to accomplish what You have commanded. If I will remain steadfast in my study\, the devil cannot trick me and deceive me with questions I don’t know the answer to. I will continue to spend time with You. Thank You\, Father God\, for calling me to a place where I seek the scriptures for answers and not man. I sorry for saying\, “that is what I was told; that is how it has always been done; I am not sure why I do this\, or I was just following what everyone else was doing\,” and thinking any of those answers was OK. DESCRIPTION:2 Timothy 4:3 3 For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing]\, they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another\, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold\, (AMP) \nAre you always being challenged\, not being changed? \nThere are people who go to the gym socially and have no intention of really training to achieve a goal. They go in order to say with pride\, “I work out as at the gym for an hour at least three times a week.” The problem is\, those who see them don’t see a change in their physique that a person would get from an hour-long workout three times a week. \nThere are people who attend church who have no intention of pursuing a deeper relationship with the Lord. They follow the same pattern as the one going to the gym. The problem is\, you can’t be transformed if you never apply what is being said. It is not enough to only sit and listen. \nYou can get every inspirational book and CD available. The purchases make it appear as if you are interested in growing. However\, do you read the books and listen to the CDs\, or do you just want to make yourself “feel” spiritual? You might find a place\, church\, ministry\, etc. where you can get a title and a position based on who you are pretending to be. However\, when the time comes\, and you are challenged and motivated to grow; do you change\, or do you leave? \nJames 1:22-25 But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts]\, and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning]\, deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth]. 23 For if anyone only listens to the word without obeying it\, he is like a man who looks very carefully at his natural face in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away\, he immediately forgets what he looked like. 25 But he who looks carefully into the perfect law\, the law of liberty\, and faithfully abides by it\, not having become a [careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys]\, he will be blessed and favored by God in what he does [in his life of obedience]. (AMP) \nWhatever day you decide that being challenged is not enough\, you will allow the Lord’s transformation process to begin. If you are chasing after God\, there is a still voice whispering to you\, “This is the way\, walk therein.” (Isaiah 30:21). Your job is to obey.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Thank You for keeping me grounded. The small amount I know does not put me in a place where I can coast along until You return. I’ve been in several meetings and trainings that truly challenged me. However\, I didn’t always leave those meetings and apply what I had heard\, and I did not change. I repent. I am sorry and I will work not to let that happen again. Lord\, I want to know You more. You are calling me to a place of spirituality and releasing me from the bondage of religion. Help me stand when I am being stretched. I don’t want to give up because I think it is too hard. Help me act like I know You don’t stop being God because I have a situation\, a problem\, or an issue. Continue to remind me that my life is not mine to direct\, and it is not about me\, not now and not ever. It is about the vision that You have for the world that Jesus died for and how You will use me to do my part to bring it to pass. DESCRIPTION:2 Timothy 3:1 This know also\, that in the last days\, perilous times shall come. (KJV) \nAre you functioning from a religious obedience or as directed by God? \nWith each generation quotes 2 Timothy 3:1 and makes the statement\, “we are living in the last days.” That statement is just as true today as it was in previous generations\, “you are living in the last days”. Let’s take a moment and look at what it means to live in the last days. \n2 Timothy 3:2- 5a For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic\, self-focused]\, lovers of money [impelled by greed]\, boastful\, arrogant\, revilers\, disobedient to parents\, ungrateful\, unholy and profane\, 3 [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection\, calloused and inhumane]\, irreconcilable\, malicious gossips\, devoid of self-control [intemperate\, immoral]\, brutal\, haters of good\, 4 traitors\, reckless\, conceited\, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God\, 5 holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion)\, although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. (AMP) \nYou live in a time where anyone can say anything they want\, anywhere they want\, about anyone they want. Christians are going with the flow. There doesn’t seem to be a distinction between the standard of living for someone who is saved and someone who is not. In a response to this world\, churches have become “legalistic”. The spiritual leaders of today don’t realize they are doing the same thing the Pharisees did with the Ten Commandments. They believe if they create enough things you “can’t do”\, then you will uphold what God has ordained for you “to do”. Just like the Pharisees\, they look and act like God’s people. However\, they deny His power to work His will in everyone. It is an unhealthy time for your walk with the Lord\, when your spiritual leaders think they are responsible for who you are and what you should and should not do. They are usurping the authority of God and\, by doing so\, add to the perils of these times. Your transition to the next level of training will happen when you learn how to successfully navigate these perilous times\, trusting in the leading of the Holy Spirit\, first.  \n2 Peter 3: 17b-18 Keep up your guard and don’t let unprincipled people pull you away from the sure ground of the truth with their lies and misunderstandings. 18 Instead\, grow in grace and in the true knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus\, the Anointed\, to whom be glory\, now and until the coming of the new age. Amen. (TVT) \nYour relationship with God is the foundation for your growth. It has to be real and personal. Don’t become confused and think that you are serving God when you are actually serving legalism. \nEphesians 4:14-15 And then our immaturity will end! And we will not be easily shaken by trouble\, nor led astray by novel teachings or by the false doctrines of deceivers who teach clever lies. 15 But instead we will remain strong and always sincere in our love as we express the truth. All our direction and ministries will flow from Christ and lead us deeper into him\, the anointed Head of his body\, the church. (TPT) \nYour responsibility is to continue to do what God is calling you to do: spend time with Him\, study\, worship and allow Him to lead. You will want to get guidance from those you feel are further along than you. Don’t mistake guidance with endorsement. You only need to be validated by the Lord. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, I am so thankful. Because of You\, I can be at peace during perilous times. I thank You for giving me the strength not to be pulled to the left or to the right. I repent for the time I spent trying to please people instead of making sure I was pleasing You first. I stand on my growing knowledge of who You are and my desire to fulfill Your purpose for my life. Though I praise You for the Spiritual Leaders You chose to speak into in my life\, I am grateful man-made rules and restrictions do not dictate my relationship with You. I know the leaders use Your word to guide\, direct\, protect\, and discipline. As You lead me\, receiving guidance\, direction\, protection\, and discipline is\, and will continue to be\, my job as well. Because of the time I spend with You\, You show me when I am moving in the wrong direction or when I have wrong thinking. Without You\, I can become just like those in 2nd Timothy 3. Thank You for being faithful to light to my path\, convict me when I am straying\, and chastise me when I am wrong. That lets me know I am Your child. Your presence enables me to do what You have called me to do. I thank You for freedom; I thank You for liberty; I thank You for keeping me\, and I won’t use the liberty and freedom You have provided callously or as an excuse to sin. This is when your faith is being exercised and developed. Someone will say something that triggers certain emotions. Or you will experience something that shakes you. In either case\, you might make statements like: \n“If this is what Christian love is\, I don’t want it.” \n“Maybe he/she is right\, and this Christianity thing does not make sense.” \n“I am the master of my fate and the captain of my ship.” \n“I make things happen for me and no one else can.” \n“This is too hard\, no one can live the way God wants.” \nWhen you get to that place\, run to the Father. Don’t stop to think\, just go to Him and say: \nPsalm 61 O God hear my prayer. Listen to my heart’s cry. 2 For no matter where I am\, even when I’m far from home\, I will cry out to you for a father’s help. When I’m feeble and overwhelmed by life\, guide me into your glory\, where I am safe and sheltered. 3 Lord\, you are a paradise of protection to me. You lift me high above the fray. None of my foes can touch me when I’m held firmly in your wrap-around presence! 4 Keep me in this glory. Let me live continually under your splendor-shadow\, hiding my life in you forever. (TPT) \nPlease know the one who is whispering in your ear is a professional liar\, the Father of lies\, designed to cause you to question what you believe. The devil is good at his job. Be good at yours as well. \n1 Corinthians 10:13-15 Any temptation you face will be nothing new. But God is faithful\, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can handle. But He always provides a way of escape so that you will be able to endure and keep moving forward. 14 So then\, my beloved friends\, run from idolatry in any form. 15 As wise as I know you are\, understand clearly what I am saying and determine the right course of action. (TVT) \nKnow what you believe\, know that you are not alone\, and stand on your faith. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather God\, I don’t want to be seduced by the enemy. I know he is calculating. I know he has a well-designed strategic plan for my destruction. I repent for trying to skip the training because I thought it was hard. I know I must continue to submit to Your guidance and instruction. That is the only way I will be as strategic in my stance as the devil is in his. My life is my training. Help me continue to look at it from that perspective. Help me evaluate the godly choices and the ones that grieved You. I want to learn from both. I want to know how the enemy attacks me; so\, I am not deceived. I know the only way I will resist satan is if I continue to draw closer to You. Fight against the spirit of rejection\, indifference\, and isolation by having compassion.  \nLuke 6:32-36  “Are you really showing true love by only loving those who love you back? Even those who don’t know God will do that. 33 Are you really showing compassion when you do good deeds only to those who do good deeds to you? Even those who don’t know God will do that. 34 If you lend money only to those you know will repay you\, what credit is that to your character? Even those who don’t know God do that. 35 But love your enemies and continue to treat them well. When you lend money\, don’t despair if you are never paid back\, for it is not lost. You will receive a rich reward and you will be known as true children of the Most High God\, having his same nature. For your Father is famous for his kindness to heal even the thankless and cruel. 36 Show mercy and compassion for others\, just as your heavenly Father overflows with mercy and compassion for all.” (TPT) \nWhether a person knows what kind of vibe they give off or not; they know what kind of vibe they receive. When you show empathy to a person who is without kindness\, you make a difference. Not only in their lives\, you also make a difference in your own life. Every time you show kindness instead of judgement\, you are developing compassion. As your compassion grows\, your capacity to love grows as well. Use as your example the love Jesus had when He died for you and still has as He makes intercession for you.  \nEphesians 4:32 Be kind and helpful to one another\, tender-hearted [compassionate\, understanding]\, forgiving one another [readily and freely]\, just as God in Christ also forgave you. (AMP) \nYou don’t want your actions to be a “onetime” thing. You want compassion to become a part of who you are and become an “all-the-time” thing. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. (AMP) \nAre you too concerned about being accepted? \nWhen people agree with you\, it makes you feel approved and recognized. Wanting to be accepted is a part of being human. As you live your life each day\, you will come in contact with people who do not understand why you feel the way you do; why you make the choices you make; why you respond the way you respond\, etc. It is okay. As a believer\, the only way a person can and will understand your “whys”; is if they understand who God is. It is not enough for them to see who God is in your life or even who He is in their lives. They have to see who He is to everyone in the world. If you feel you are not being accepted\, you cannot make someone understand or agree with the stand you take. Your actions and reactions come from your relationship with God.  \nOn the other hand\, if what you hear from God does not line up with the people who are offering you acceptance\, another issue is at stake. It is important to allow The Father to guide you. Knowing the difference between what is right and what is wrong is not always easy\, especially when you are deciding on being accepted by someone or a group you want to be a part of. The very intelligent\, crafty and persuasive people can make error look a lot like truth. God gives you the knowledge and wisdom to know the difference. \nMark 8:34-37 Jesus called the crowd together with His disciples\, and said to them\, If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple]\, he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests]\, and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me\, conforming to My example in living and\, if need be\, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]. 35 For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death]\, but whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake and the gospel’s will save it [from the consequences of sin and separation from God]. 36 For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world [with all its pleasures]\, and forfeit his soul? 37 For what will a man give in exchange for his soul and eternal life [in God’s kingdom]? I have learned to move my problems from the center of my consciousness and replace it with the knowledge of You. You reassure me\, and You lift me up. You continue to tell me that no matter what life brings\, Your love is greater. Your love supersedes the feelings I may have about my current state. I then shift my focus to the truth of Your love. You covered all my faults\, pains\, and fears. Just basking in Your presence keeps me from staying down and sustains me through that moment and every other moment to come. I can celebrate. Add to your training plan\, spending time worshipping and praising the Lord daily. You develop and construct your plan based on who you are\, your experiences\, and the information you have gained. Finally\, and most importantly\, you need the presence of God\, evident in your life\, to make “informed choices about your plan”.  \nProverbs 4:1-2\, 5 Hear\, O children\, the instruction of a father\, And pay attention [and be willing to learn] so that you may gain understanding and intelligent discernment. 2 For I give you good doctrine; Do not turn away from my instruction. 5 Get [skillful and godly] wisdom! Acquire understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment\, mature comprehension\, and logical interpretation]! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. (AMP) \nThis is the foundation of your plan. God’s manifested presence intensifies when you spend more time with Him. Time spent with Him when you study\, pray\, praise\, and worship makes your relationship with Him stronger. The stronger your relationship\, the more you will want to spend time with Him. Here are a few scriptures to help you understand what you are in training to do: \nRomans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore\, brethren\, by the mercies of God\, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice\, holy\, acceptable unto God\, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind\, that ye may prove what is that good\, and acceptable\, and perfect\, will of God. (KJV) \n1 Thessalonians 5:15-18  Make sure no one returns evil for evil\, but always pursue what is good as it affects one another in the church but also all people. 16 Celebrate always\, 17 pray constantly\, and 18 give thanks to God no matter what circumstances you find yourself in. (This is God’s will for all of you in Jesus the Anointed.) They even want you to turn their terrible choice into something usable when they discover it was a terrible choice. If you are unwilling to accommodate them\, they feel discouraged and disappointed. You don’t want to take the same position with the Father. It does not matter what your plans may be. The warfare you are in requires you to submit your life to the Father. Do you quote Proverbs 3:5-7 regularly?  \nProverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the Lord with all your heart\, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him\, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; \nFear the Lord and depart from evil. (NKJV) \nDo you actually acknowledge God in all your ways? Are there things you run headlong into without pause and then expect God to give you “your” expected end? Do you get discouraged when things don’t turn out the way you planned? Though it may have seemed like a good idea\, at the time\, quite possibly it was not a “God” idea. You want to submit yourself\, your thoughts\, and your ideas to the Father. Here is the better thing: you also want Him to say no when it is not what He wants for your life. Most importantly\, you want to be excited when He says no\, not disappointed or discouraged. You do not know what He saved you from or what better plans He has for you. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather\, in the name of Jesus\, I recognize I am in a war. I understand\, though You have already gotten the victory\, I must walk out the path You have set for my life. Please forgive me for not taking full advantage of the provision Jesus bought for me. He made it possible for me to be an overcomer because of the authority and power given to me because I am saved. All I have to do is allow You to show me Your plan for my life and accept it. However\, that is not enough. You also have the responsibility to store the word in your heart. Read the Bible for yourself. When you read\, seek God for revelation. When you get revelation\, make sure your actions and your attitude line up with what you read and what God has revealed. It is your responsibility to use the word as a guide. You don’t want to commit acts of sin because you don’t know better. The word will help you distinguish between sins of commission and sins of omission. In the world there is a saying\, “ignorance of the law is no defense.” The same is true with the Father. There is no reason for you not to know. The word is there\, read it\, understand it and apply it. \n1 John 2:24-27 So you must be sure to keep the message burning in your hearts; that is\, the message of life you heard from the beginning. If you do\, you will always be living in close fellowship with the Son and with the Father. 25 And he himself has promised us the never-ending life of the ages to come! 26 I’ve written these things about those who are attempting to lead you astray. 27 But the wonderful anointing you have received from God is so much greater than their deception and now lives in you. The scrutiny of this word detects every possible disease\, discerning the bodies deepest secrets were joint and bone-marrow meet. (TMB) \nWho is fooling who? \nYou may be able to fool others\, and sadly yourself. The word of God\, because it is God\, cannot be fooled. Your mind is incredibly fascinating. It can create defense mechanisms and intricate unrealistic self-images. It even allows you to act like the image is real\, even though you know it is not. That’s why it’s extremely important for you to stay in the word. You need the word to wash over you\, to examine you\, and to show you who you really are. \nJames 1:23-25 If some fail to do what God requires\, it’s as if they forget the word as soon as they hear it. One minute they look in the mirror\, and the next they forget who they are and what they look like. 25 However\, it is possible to open your eyes and take in the beautiful\, perfect truth found in God’s law of liberty and live by it. If you pursue that path and actually do what God has commanded\, then you will avoid the many distractions that lead to an amnesia of all true things and you will be blessed. (TVT) \nYou want the cleansing and correction of the word\, not for you to feel bad. You want to be cleansed to get excited. You can\, finally\, get off the roller coaster of saying one thing and really thinking and doing something else. You can stop trying to live a life you’ve said was you and falling short. You can stop appearing to be a liar or just duplicitous.  \nMatthew 5:37 A simple ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ will suffice. Anything beyond this springs from a deceiver. (TPT) \nYou can simply be who you are. You can say\, “love me or hate me\, take me or leave me.” Then you can let God do what He had already planned to do in you. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response: \nFather God\, I am grateful You are omniscient. You see right through me into my heart. I repent for not acknowledging my need for You to show me what’s there\, as well as what’s not there every day. As long as I try to make myself into something I’m not and change myself to be someone other than who You created me to be\, I am a target. Help me not to function in such a place of insecurity that I am fodder for the enemy. Help me embrace who I am\, all of who I am. Your word says I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I have to believe it. I don’t have to re-create an image of myself in order to please someone or make myself fit in. I can just be me and allow You to shape me like clay on a potter’s wheel. I’m sorry for tampering with Your creation. I thank You for cleaning up the mess I’ve made.
