(MSG\, edited) \nHold on to this scripture when the enemy tries to make you think there is something you have to do in addition to what God has already done. God’s mercy saved you. There was nothing you could have done. \nTitus 3:5 He saved us\, not because of any works of righteousness that we have done\, but because of His own compassion and mercy\, by the cleansing of the new birth (spiritual transformation\, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit. I know You have ordained for me to speak to people as I travel along. Not only do they need to hear the words that I speak\, they need to feel Your presence in the truth of them. To let a dying world know the truth of Your love\, I must live a crucified life. I must live the word and demonstrate it by faith. I have to adhere to it\, rely on it\, and completely trust in it. There are those who watch you to see the right things you do. \nTitus 2:7 Titus\, you have to set a good example for everyone. Go out of your way to do what is right\, speak the truth with the weight and authority that come from an honest and pure life. No one can argue with that. (TVT) \nThere are those who watch you waiting for you to do something wrong. \nRomans 8:33-34 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died\, and furthermore is also risen\, who is even at the right hand of God\, who also makes intercession for us. (NKJV) \nIf you are not careful\, one side or both will influence you. You don’t want your behavior to feed off of either. You are more mature than that. \nEphesians 4:14 So then\, we may no longer be children\, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine\, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of unscrupulous men\, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead. Do you think I am on a mission to please people? If I am still spinning my wheels trying to please men\, then there is no way I can be a servant of the Anointed One\, the Liberating King. DESCRIPTION:Hebrews 7:19 In its ability to reunite mankind with God\, the law did not succeed even once; that is why it was superseded by the introduction of a far superior hope\, a new order in which we are perfectly represented before God. (TMB) \nIs your relationship religious or spiritual? \nAdhering to religious practices and activities does not and cannot make you perfect before God. This is important for you to know. Why? Because you could get sidetracked on your journey to a closer walk with the Lord. \nMark 7:7-9 In vain (fruitlessly and without profit) do they worship Me\, ordering and teaching [to be obeyed] as doctrines the commandments and precepts of men. 8 You disregard and give up and ask to depart from you the commandment of God and cling to the tradition of men [keeping it carefully and faithfully]. 9 And He said to them\, You have a fine way of rejecting [thus thwarting and nullifying and doing away with] the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition (your own human regulations) (AMPC) \nIt does not matter how many songs you sing\, programs you chair\, prayers you pray\, tongues you speak in\, people you transport\, demons you cast out\, or meetings you attend. Works you do “for God” will not reconcile you to God. These activities cannot make atonement; they do not have the power to pay for your sins and cannot put away guilt. \nRomans 4:4-5 Now to a laborer\, his wages are not credited as a favor or a gift\, but as an obligation [something owed to him]. 5 But to the one who does not work [that is\, the one who does not try to earn his salvation by doing good]\, but believes and completely trusts in Him who justifies the ungodly\, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God). (AMP) \nPlease don’t believe you can earn and/or sustain salvation by doing good works. Your good works will not restore things to the way God wanted them before man broke the Law and became a sinner. Thank God for Jesus! He is the new promise. \nColossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble]\, according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men\, following the elementary principles of this world\, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ. DESCRIPTION:Psalms 25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. (KJV) \nAre you meek? \nWhat is it about meekness that appeals to the Father? What is meekness? \n\nIn a standard dictionary\, the definition is quiet\, gentle\, easily imposed on\, and submissive.\nIn a Bible dictionary\, you see a completely different definition. Meekness is a temper of mind not easily provoked to resentment.\n\nMeekness is not merely a natural virtue\, it is a Christian “grace”. It is one of the “fruit of the Spirit” (Gal 5:23). The translation from Hebrew/Greek to English is difficult because the Hebrew/Greek language is compact. One Hebrew/Greek word could be five or six different English words. This is important because scriptures identify meekness is an attitude or quality of heart\, not simply a character trait. \n1 Peter 3:4 But let it be [the inner beauty of] the hidden person of the heart\, with the imperishable quality and unfading charm of a meek\, gentle and peaceful spirit\, [one that is calm and self-controlled\, not overanxious\, but serene and spiritually mature] which is very precious in the sight of God. (AMP edited) \nThe meek person: \n\nWillingly accepts and submits without resistance to the will and desires of God.\nComplies with the instructions and desires of man only if they line up with God’s.\nFocusses on the wishes of God\, not on personal wants\, ideas\, and goals.\nTakes a back seat and allow God to work to achieve what is good for others.\n\nIsaiah 42:1-4 “Take a good look at my servant! I love him dearly\, for he is my chosen one. I have taken hold of him in my strength\, and I have clothed him with my Spirit. He will cause justice to spring up for the nations. 2 He will be gentle and will not quarrel with others in public. He will not exalt his own voice. 3 He would never crush a broken heart nor disregard the weak and vulnerable. He will make sure justice comes to those who are wronged. His inner being will not become faint or discouraged\, nor will his light grow dim before he establishes justice on the earth. You knew I would need meekness in order for You to use me. You have taught me many things about being meek. Meekness is not the opposite of assertiveness. Meekness is a quality all its own. It is the fruit of the Spirit. It is not something I put on a take off; I need to let it shine through\, all day\, every day of my life. Because you accepted the truth of His life\, death and resurrection\, you are an heir and you have ruling power. \nEphesians 2:6 He raised us up with Christ the exalted One\, and we ascended with him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm\, for we are now co-seated as one with Christ! (TPT) \nBecause You accepted the invitation to salvation and live the life Jesus died for\, you are royalty. Though you will be with the Lord in eternity\, you also get to live like the royalty you are right now. (John 8:36\, Galatians 5:1).\n\nYour “right now” rewards come at a cost. (NKJV) \nYou can go to the priest\, pastor\, religious leader\, etc. you have in your life for support. However\, always remember\, Jesus is the one you should run to. He reigns above them all. He is always available and wants you to establish a relationship with Him. He is the great High Priest. Jesus is the one who made atonement for you and for the world. He alone offered the ultimate sacrifice for sins: past\, present and future. He can help you when you are faltering. \nHebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations\, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are\, yet without [committing any] sin. (AMP) \nWho is better equipped to help you\, than the Lord? No one. When the enemy comes\, your response is to stand on the truth. You have confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord; you believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead\, and He saved you. Don’t waiver. (KJV) \nHow are you living? \nCriminal investigators round up specific suspects when they are not sure who the culprit is. They analyze the scene of the crime to get clues as to the method used to pull names from a list\, called the usual suspects. Those who have committed a similar crime before and/or who have that M.O. (modus operandi). Once a person’s name is on that list\, they can never break free of the stigma attached to them. Investigators will always know them as one of the usual suspects because of the crimes they committed in their past. It does not matter how old they get or how long ago they committed the crime. \nHere is a reason for you to celebrate. Jesus died for you. He took on your sins\, made a way for you to never sin again\, and He continually presents you before the Father. \nJude 24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin\, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight. (AMP) \nNot only can you stand in the presence of God\, you can stand\, without fault\, without blemish\, and without blame! You are no longer on the usual suspects’ list. \nPsalm 103:12 You see\, God takes all our crimes—our seemingly inexhaustible sins—and removes them. As far as east is from the west\, He removes them from us. (TVT) \nJesus canceled the charges\, and He expunged the record. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. I repent for the non-living I was doing\, waiting for my past to catch up with me and determine my future. There was no glory in that for You. You saved me and set my future. I thank You\, Father\, for placing my sins in the sea of forgetfulness. Thank You for washing me and making me whole. No matter where You take me in this life\, whatever I have done\, it is done\, and I can’t change it. What I know\, Father\, is I can celebrate because my past cannot take away what You’ve given me. Not even I can stop the plans You have for my life and going to the places You have ordained for me go. Nothing and no one can eliminate the peace You’ve given me. No matter what list I used to be on\, I have a new way of being known. I am saved\, set free and delivered! (NKJV) \nAlways remember\, the work you do should be as unto the Lord\, not for the praise\, not for position\, not for a promotion\, nor status. When you reflect on the work you do\, you are not the one who measures the level and quality of your service; the Lord is. \nColossians 3:23 Whatever you do [whatever your task may be]\, work from the soul [that is\, put in your very best effort]\, as [something done] for the Lord and not for men\, 24 knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. The sprinkled blood purges our inner thought-patterns; our bodies also are bathed in clean water. (Our behavior bears witness to this.) (TMB) \nAre you frustrating the grace?  \nSmall children often hold their heads down and won’t look at their parent when they have done something wrong. Sometimes they even try to hide what they have done or lie if asked about it. That is not who you are\, nor how you act as a believer. \nRomans 8:1-2 Now the decisive conclusion is this: in Christ\, every bit of condemning evidence against us is cancelled. 2 The law of the Spirit is the liberating force of life in Christ. This leaves me with no further obligation to the law of sin and death. Spirit has superseded the sin enslaved senses as the principle law of our lives. (TMB) \nWhen you sin\, you don’t have to hold your head down. There is no reason to. You cannot hide your sin from God because He sees and knows all things. Just as the Lord passed over the Israelites because of the blood on the doorposts\, He does not see you as you see yourself. He sees you through the blood of Jesus\, pure! \nExodus 12:13 The blood shall be a sign for you on [the doorposts of] the houses where you live; when I see the blood I shall pass over you\, and no affliction shall happen to you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. (AMP) \n1 Corinthians 5:7b For indeed Christ\, our Passover\, was sacrificed for us. (NKJV) \nDon’t take advantage of God’s grace by continuing to live contrary to what you know He wants. For if justification (righteousness\, acquittal from guilt) comes through [observing the ritual of] the Law\, then Christ (the Messiah) died groundlessly and to no purpose and in vain. It does not matter how hard you think it may be.  \nEphesians 6:12 Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings\, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage. (TPT) \nIf you don’t\, stand on the word\, realizing it is not flesh and blood at work\, hurt and unforgiveness will take you to a dark place. The enemy will use your feelings as reinforcement for your pain every time you think about what happened. Your emotions fortify and protect your feelings and create what believers call a stronghold. You realize the soulish realm of your existence is not where you meet with the Father. Instead of allowing the enemy to build a stronghold\, allow the Lord to be your stronghold. \nPsalm 9:9-10 The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed\, a refuge and a stronghold in times of trouble (high cost\, destitution\, and desperation). 10 And they who know Your name [who have experience and acquaintance with Your mercy] will lean on and confidently put their trust in You\, for You\, Lord\, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You [on the authority of God’s Word and the right of their necessity]. (AMPC) \nYou go to El Shaddai\, the All-Sufficient God\, and get everything you need. He will give you the strength to forgive\, to let go\, and to move forward in Him. You wait in His presence for direction on your next step\, and you have peace. \nPlease agree with me as I pray. Did you say that when you were a child? Isn’t it great you don’t have to do that as an adult? You don’t have to convince a person you are not lying. It is because you have lived a life that shows you have integrity. People watch how you handle problems\, if you say when you are wrong\, if you cut corners and someone else’s expense\, etc. The Bible substantiates this premise. \nMatthew 7:20 Yes\, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit\, so you can identify people by their actions. (NLT) \nIf you are a believer\, who has on the whole armor of God\, these things should be true about you: \n\nYou speak the truth even when it might appear to be more beneficial not to. \n\n1 Peter 3:10 It is written in the psalms\, If you love life and want to live a good\, long time\, Then be careful what you say. Don’t tell lies or spread gossip or talk about improper things. (TVT) \n\nYou serve God rather than men. \n\nActs 5:29 Then Peter and the apostles replied\, “We must obey God rather than men [we have no other choice]”. (AMP) \n\nYou keep our word.  \n\nJames 5:12 Above all we must be those who never need to verify our speech as truthful by swearing by the heavens or the earth or any other oath. But instead we must be so full of integrity that our “Yes” or “No” is convincing enough and we do not stumble into hypocrisy. (TPT) \n\nYou love those around you in both word and deed.\n\n1 John 3:17-18 But whoever has this world’s goods\, and sees his brother in need\, and shuts up his heart from him\, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 My little children\, let us not love in word or in tongue\, but in deed and in truth. (NKJV) \n\nYou believe in God and therefore to follow Him in all our ways.\n\nPsalm 37:23-24The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord\, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path]. As you listen to them\, make sure the “logic” of their conversation\, choices\, behavior\, and recommendations do not influence you. What union has light with darkness?  \n2 Corinthians 6:14-15 Don’t develop partnerships with those who are not followers of Jesus’ teachings. For what real connection can exist between righteousness and rebellion? How can light participate in darkness? 15 What harmony can exist between the Anointed and Satan? Do the faithful and the faithless have anything in common? (TVT) \nWhen your associations do not name the name of Christ\, they have no problem with being manipulative\, con artists\, ditch diggers\, and bone carriers. They would encourage you to be the same.  \n1 Corinthians 15:33 So stop fooling yourselves! Evil companions will corrupt good morals and character. (TPT) \nDo not be one of those “Christians” who stretch themselves to the edge and beyond if it fulfilled a wish\, got them what you wanted\, and/or got them something they convinced themselves they are “entitled” to. You should make it your practice to stay away from them.  \nAmos 3:3 Can two walk together\, except they be agreed? (KJV) \nAlways remember\, you cannot get good from doing evil. Using ungodly measures to get a good thing is not a blessing from God.  \nRomans 3:8a Is it proper for us to sin\, just so good things may come? May it never be! Then\, with the cloth soaking in soap and water\, the fullers beat or stamped it to remove the impurities.  \nYou are being refined like oil and cleaned like cloth with every trial and test.  \nPsalm 66:10-12 O Lord\, we have passed through your fire; like precious metal made pure\, you’ve proved us\, perfected us\, and made us holy. 11 You’ve captured us\, ensnared us in your net. Then\, like prisoners\, you placed chains around our necks. 12 You’ve allowed our enemies to prevail against us. We’ve passed through fire and flood\, yet in the end you always bring us out better than we were before\, saturated with your goodness. (TPT) \nOne trial you will face continually is knowing who to believe. The Bible says:   \nMatthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs\, and false prophets\, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that\, if it were possible\, they shall deceive the very elect. (KJV) \nIf it were possible. That is an important phrase. How do you make sure the enemy will not deceive you? You are being refined in the fire. You spend in the presence of God\, and He will burn all the impurities out of you. You are being cleansed like the fuller cleans\, washed by the word\, and transformed from glory to glory. Your past is in the sea of forgetfulness and your instructions are\, “Go\, and sin no more”. How will you maintain your relationship with the Father and abide? You have been learning since you became a Christian and certainly in each day of this devotional\, from January until today. You must spend dedicated time in study\, in prayer and in sincere worship. You can’t forget who God is\, just because of what you see and/or experience. You walk by faith and not by sight. You must believe whether you rise first\, or you are caught up (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)\, you have God’s provision for you. From today until Jesus comes\, be steadfast. You are the church Jesus is coming back for. Be the one who abides until the end. \nAccept and act a lifestyle according to the Beatitudes (Matthew 5).\nBuild a treasure chest of God’s promises by memorizing one or more scriptures a week.\nInto the Bible. (TMB) \nWhat does your work evaluation say?  \nWhen you are working\, your employer designates times when you get evaluated. When you apply for a job\, you often need a letter of reference. Evaluations happen\, via tests\, surveys\, observations etc.\, all throughout your life. As a Christian\, you are constantly being evaluated by other believers and by non-believers. The Father evaluates you as well. \nYour basic and most important duty as a believer is to represent God on earth\, and men will want to be saved. You have to fulfill His set qualifications in order to be an effective ambassador/representative. Here is a short position description. The ambassador/representative of the Lord Almighty must:  \n\nHave a disciplined life. (Romans 12:1-2)\nStudy the Bible regularly\, and you will not only speak the word\, you will live it. (2 Timothy 2:15)\nPray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)\nCommit yourself to the body of Christ. (1 Thessalonians 3:12)\nDeal with everyone in a way that glorifies God. (John 13:35)\nHelp others learn who God is. (Hebrews 13:16)\nLive an upright moral life. (Galatians 5:19-21)\nHonor order and do God’s will. (1 Corinthians 14:33)\nAny other duties as assigned. (AMP) \nHe has a plan for you\, and He always provides a way of escape. God knows you better than you know yourself. He knows what to allow for your making and what to hold back to prevent your demise.  \nJeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you\,” says the Lord\, “plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster\, to give you a future and a hope.” (AMP) \nHis plan also extends to the unjust. Just like them\, He knows you are going to be tested every day of your life until He returns.  \n1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy]\, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist]\, but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well\, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding\, and will overcome temptation with joy]. (AMP) \nSince the Father knew the devil would tempt you\, He gave you a way to escape the temptation. You want to “take the way of escape” when others are falling away or yielding to temptation. How do you make the cut? Glad you asked.  \nFirst\, you accept what Jesus died for.  \nRomans 8:3 For God has done what the Law could not do\, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin\, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued\, overcame\, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice]. (AMPC) \nSecond\, you recognize the enemy for who he is and what he does\, and pray. \n1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined]\, be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours\, the devil\, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry]\, seeking someone to devour. 9 But resist him\, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted\, established\, immovable]\, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. You are showing me what I call my frailties and my failures are opportunities for You to stand up stronger and taller within me. I have to change what I say about what I see. I know how the enemy attacks me. I have to continue to stay in Your presence and continue to seek Your face. If I don’t\, I close the free-flowing provision You make available to me to help me succeed. I also miss the opportunity for You to adjust my view of my situation when I look through Your eyes. DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 6:17a And take the helmet of salvation. (KJV) \nAre you saved? \nIf we look at the armor\, determining the most important piece could be a matter of great discussion. It would be like trying to decide which fruit of the Spirit is best or which supernatural gift is the most essential. From purely a spiritual/logical standpoint\, the helmet of salvation is the first piece you need. These weapons are spiritual. The only way you can use them is by the spirit. \n2 Corinthians 10:3-4 For although we live in the natural realm\, we don’t wage a military campaign employing human weapons\, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead\, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide. (TPT) \nIf you are not saved\, you live according to the flesh and not according to the spirit. When you live according to the flesh\, you cannot use spiritual weapons. More importantly\, you cannot please God.  \nRomans 8:8-9a So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God\, or be acceptable to Him. 9 But you are not living the life of the flesh\, you are living the life of the Spirit\, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and controls you]. (AMPC) \nBecause you are saved\, God empowers you to use the other pieces of armor to work in your life. It is through salvation\, God-given and pure: \nYou can stand your ground when the devil attacks. (1 John 4:4)\nYou can speak the truth. (Ephesians 4:15)\nYou are the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)\nYou preach the gospel of peace. (2 Timothy 4:2)\nYou have faith. (Romans 10:17)\nYou have power. (2 Timothy 1:7)\nYou can hear the Lord speaking. (John 10:27) \nNo man enters a battle without understanding the war and knowing how he can win. You need the proper gear if you will be effective and victorious. Salvation gives you access to the gear. Without salvation\, your path is set; you cannot win.  \nPlease agree with me as I pray. For a long time\, I thought the only thing salvation did for me was keep me from going to hell. I repent for not spending more time with You to get a deeper understanding. Now I know salvation did more for me than I realized. Because I am saved\, I have victory over the enemy. Salvation gives me the power to walk in love\, and I have joy. Because You saved me\, my peace is not up for grabs. I have fond memories of my father saying from the pulpit\, “It is the power to walk right\, talk right and live right.” Thank You for the power. If I was doing the choosing\, I probably wouldn’t have picked me. Even right now\, I repent for the things I have done that should have disqualified me. Not because I am worse than anyone else\, it’s just that when I look in Your word\, I don’t measure up. Yet\, You didn’t disqualify me; You picked me. I don’t say I would not pick me to second guess Your choice. I say it to make sure I stay humble. Not only did You desire me\, You set me apart. You knew every decision I would make\, the good ones and the bad ones. You knew when I would obey You and when I would reject You. You knew when I would allow Your word to transform me into Your image and when I would try to make provision for my flesh. Yet\, You chose me anyway. Because You know all about me\, You also know exactly what needs to happen in my life in order to buff out the rough places and fix the dents. I thank You for loving me. Your love for me takes me through situations and allows certain things to happen because You know exactly what I need. (TMB) \nWhat kind of lifestyle do you have? \nHave you ever heard someone say\, “God knows my heart”? Often a person uses that excuse when she/he has done or said something they know was displeasing. In that time and in all times\, God does know your heart.  \nPsalm 139:1-4 Lord\, you know everything there is to know about me. 2 You perceive every movement of my heart and soul\, and you understand my every thought before it even enters my mind. 3–4 You are so intimately aware of me\, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. (TPT) \nThere probably have been times when someone told you they felt misunderstood\, misquoted and/or mistreated by you (and there will be more). Maybe because of something you said or did. It was not your intent for your actions to be received the way they were. Isn’t it a wonderful thing to acknowledge God’s omniscience and feel a sense of peace sweep over you? As you stand fully clothed in the armor of God\, you can say with confidence\, “God knows my heart”. It is not a pass for sin\, it is God’s covering grace. Your lifestyle attests not only to God withholding what you deserve\, it also shows how He empowers you to live as He wills. \n1 Peter 3:10-11 For let him who wants to enjoy life and see good days [good—whether apparent or not] keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from guile (treachery\, deceit). 11 Let him turn away from wickedness and shun it\, and let him do right. Let him search for peace (harmony; undisturbedness from fears\, agitating passions\, and moral conflicts) and seek it eagerly.
