- In our futile effort to try to fix ourselves we wander down unnecessary paths. We become very aware of things that we don’t like about ourselves. We become very aware of things that we know cannot work within the gospel. The first thing we do is try to change ourselves. It is a desperate thing for us and we think that we can make it happen. We start implementing the necessary steps so that we can see results. But when we implement this process, the only thing that happens is that we are more deceived. We also make ourselves resilient. When God is seeking to bring about a change in us, we push Him away and we do it the way we think God works.
