Ephesians 5:16 Wisdom converts time into opportunity and frees your day from slog. (TMB)
Are you giving a tithe of your time?
In the workforce, time management and the ability to multitask are critical qualities for success. The Bible is clear about how you should spend your time as well.
Proverbs 16:27 Idle hands are the devils workshop (KJV)
Ephesians 5:16 Making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. (AMP)
Time is available for you to do what you want with it. You can live like you have plenty of time to invest in your relationship with God, and you do the “fun things” now. You can also choose to live your life as if you don’t know when Jesus is going to return (in point of fact you don’t).
James 4:13-15 Come now [and pay attention to this], you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and carry on our business and make a profit.” 14 Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen in your life tomorrow. [What is secure in your life?] You are merely a vapor [like a puff of smoke or a wisp of steam from a cooking pot] that is visible for a little while and then vanishes [into thin air]. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and we will do this or that.” (AMP)
Every second is a precious opportunity to press into God. Your tithe is a 10th, 2.4 hours per day. Are you robbing God?
Please agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for the opportunity to live my life giving You glory. I know I don’t know when Jesus is going to return. I repent for acting like I do. You give me time and allow me to do whatever I want to do with it. I can spend my time doing a lot of things I believe would benefit me in the natural. I can also spend my time doing fun things. I choose to spend my time giving You what is due You. The legalistic amount of time I should give You is 2.4 hours in a day. You are worth much more than 10%. The end of the tithe is the beginning of the sacrifice. I want to live my life in the sacrifice and offering portion of time. I don’t want to just give what I should give; I desire to give out of the abundance and overflow. You give me out of Your abundance. You are my God and I love You…
