Ephesians 6:17b and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (KJV)
How are you using the word?
Armed with the word of God, there is nothing you cannot do.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the man (servant) of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work. (AMP, edited)
Having your assignment, from the Father, stopped is not even a consideration. Just as Jesus used the word when the enemy came to tempt Him, you have to do the same. You must say with confidence, “it is written.” You cannot get that kind of confidence just by reading the Bible. You have to study it, memorize it and apply it to your life.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. (AMPC)
It is not enough to go to church and listen to the revelations God gave to pastors and elders. You have to get your own. The word has many purposes in the life of the Christian. In addition to what we read in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, it also lights your path (Psalm 119:105); gives you wisdom (Colossians 3:16), increases your faith (Romans 10:17), and sustains your joy (Jeremiah 15:16). The word will bless you (Luke 11:28).
The word is your foundational for what you believe, your principles, and your education. Use the weapon God gave you to establish everything you think, do, and say.
Please agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response:
Father, You are the Word. I thank You, I can run to the word. I know I will find answers to any and every problem, dilemma, or situation I will ever face. Whether the concern is spiritual, family related, about relationships, or concerning business; the answer is in the Word. I thank You for it. I don’t have to guess what to do. I don’t have to figure out how to respond. I repent for those times when I tried to move according to my wisdom. Experiences, whether I saw them as tough or easy, have taught me to go to Your Word. I thank You because I use Your Word to lift and not tear down. You guide my tongue to make sure I bless and enrich those I speak to. I thank You…
