Hebrews 4:16

June 13

Hebrews 4:16 For this reason we can approach the authoritative throne of grace with bold utterance. We are welcome there in his embrace, and are reinforced with immediate effect in times of trouble. (MSG)

Are you boldly taking ownership of your sin?

Isn’t it great you don’t serve an “I-told-you-so” God? One that is waiting to show you how right He is and how wrong you are?

Romans 8:1 So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One. (TPT)

You read the word. You study. You know what the word says you should do. Sometimes you just don’t do it. The amazing thing is you have a really good reason (according to you) for disobeying. In those times, you have to go to God and ask Him to forgive you and clean up your mess.

Psalm 34:17 When the righteous cry [for help], the Lord hears And rescues them from all their distress and troubles. (AMP)

How will He clean up for you? It may be, He needs to withhold punishment you should get. He may need to bless you despite what you have done and give you what you don’t deserve. Whatever it is, He is always there. He gives you what you need at that moment. He will not turn away from you when you cry to Him. Here is the focus scripture in a different translation.

Hebrews 4:16 Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]. (AMP)

Jesus took on your sins. The Father does not see them. He only sees His love for you and His desire to bless you. What is your part in this scenario? Own what you did. Confess and be truly sorry.

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the heartbroken And He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin). (AMP)

Take these truths and go boldly and tell your Lord and your God what you’ve done. It’s not like He does not already know.

Please agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response:

Father, You see and know everything I do, the pleasing things and the grievous things. Yet, You allow me to come to You and I thank You. I repent for all the messes I created in my efforts to work things out my way. I also repent for the times when I simply disobeyed You because I gave place to my flesh. In either case, You love me still. You permit me to come to You and tell You what happened. Even though You already know. You don’t make me feel ashamed or dirty. You bless me. You show mercy and give me what I need right then and for moments to come. I understand I will reap what I’ve sown. Thank You for giving me the grace to endure and learn from the mess, as I get from where I am to the next place You’re taking me. I am grateful, and I bless Your name…
