Kings 19:21

July 28

1 Kings 19:21 So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant. (NKJV)

Do you still have your own provision made?

In 1 Kings 19: 19-21, Elisha destroyed all that he associated with his former life when he heeded God’s call. He did not want to leave anything behind to go back to if things got hard. Your commitment to God has to be complete. If you try to do this halfway, it will not work.

Luke 14:33 “Simply put, if you’re not willing to take what is dearest to you, whether plans or people, and kiss it good-bye, you can’t be my disciple”. (MSG)

Even with full commitment, the enemy is always looking for ways to trip you up. If he gets in a good hit, don’t turn back. Take the provision God has provided and keep moving forward.

1 Corinthians 10:13 We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously. (TPT)

Destroy your ties to those things you feel will be your comfort zone to return to. That means relationships, habits, places you frequented, etc. Don’t give yourself a way out.

John 6:67-68 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. (KJV)

When all you have is what God provides for you, you are in the right place.

Please agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response:

Father, I thank You for teaching me to get rid of anything I think I might, even if only possibly, use as a crutch or a Plan B. I don’t want an easy path back to my comfort zone. I want to be in Your perfect will and under Your provision. I know sometimes I don’t understand what’s going on. I repent for being like the children of Israel, thinking it would be better if I had just stayed in Egypt. I know those are thoughts the enemy plants in my mind. I have to bring them under subjection to Your authority. There’s nowhere else for me to go, as Simon Peter said. If I’m not with You, where am I going to be. I know who You are. I know I cannot make it without You. Help me cast down every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of Your amazing power and will for my life. Help me stand strong when it gets hard and commit myself to You wholeheartedly
