Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (KJV)
Have you hidden the word in your heart?
You may attend church “religiously.” You may also participate in Bible study every Wednesday or Thursday or whichever day the ministry/church has it. However, that is not enough. You also have the responsibility to store the word in your heart. Read the Bible for yourself. When you read, seek God for revelation. When you get revelation, make sure your actions and your attitude line up with what you read and what God has revealed. It is your responsibility to use the word as a guide. You don’t want to commit acts of sin because you don’t know better. The word will help you distinguish between sins of commission and sins of omission. In the world there is a saying, “ignorance of the law is no defense.” The same is true with the Father. There is no reason for you not to know. The word is there, read it, understand it and apply it.
1 John 2:24-27 So you must be sure to keep the message burning in your hearts; that is, the message of life you heard from the beginning. If you do, you will always be living in close fellowship with the Son and with the Father. 25 And he himself has promised us the never-ending life of the ages to come! 26 I’ve written these things about those who are attempting to lead you astray. 27 But the wonderful anointing you have received from God is so much greater than their deception and now lives in you. There’s no need for anyone to keep teaching you. His anointing teaches you all that you need to know, for it will lead you into truth, not a counterfeit. So just as the anointing has taught you, remain in him. (TPT)
The Father loves you too much to leave you at the whims of someone else, even if they mean well. He will teach you Himself if you allow Him to; if you submit to Him; and if you will spend time with Him and in His word.
Please agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response:
Father, in the name of Jesus, please draw me closer to You. As I carve out time for our communion, I ask You speak to my heart, show me Your word and give me revelation knowledge. I want to understand You more, then I can live a life that is pleasing to You. I know I have to store the word in my heart. It will not happen accidentally. I repent for not making it a greater priority sooner. Each day as I study, I will hide Your word in my heart. It is not enough to be knowledgeable of the enemy’s devices; I also have to know Your word. Please help me make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path…
