Romans 6:13

October 30

Romans 6:13 Do not let the members of your body lie around loose and unguarded in the vicinity of unrighteousness, where sin can seize it and use it as a destructive weapon against you; rather place yourself in readiness unto God, like someone resurrected from the dead, present your whole person as a weapon of righteousness. (TMB)

Are you allowing God to keep you under control?

It might be strange to think a part of your body could lead you to sin. Look at Romans 3:13-18:

Romans 3:13 Their words are full of deadly deceit; wicked lies roll off their tongues, and dangerous threats, like snake’s poison, from their lips; (GNT)

Romans 3:14 Bitter profanity flows from their mouths, only meant to cut and harm. (TPT)

Romans 3:15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: (KJV)

Romans 3:16  They leave ruin and destruction wherever they go. (GNT)

Romans 3:17 And they have no experience of the way of peace [they know nothing about peace, for a peaceful way they do not even recognize]. (AMPC)

Romans 3:18 “There is no fear of God [and His awesome power] before their eyes.” (AMP)

You can’t be an effective witness if any of these verses describe you.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who comes from God and dwells inside of you? You do not own yourself. 20 You have been purchased at a great price, so use your body to bring glory to God! (TVT)

If any part of your members is out of alignment with the Father, run into His presence. God’s healing is available to you and for you in every area of your life, continuously. Keep yourself under subjection, and you will serve the Lord with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul, with all your strength, and also with your whole body.

Please agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response:

My Father, what a revelation. I never thought I should look at the parts of my body in addition to my thoughts. I repent because I did not take the time to understand this method of attack from the enemy. I am sure there are things I did that dishonored You, which I will not do again now that I have revelation. Now I personify the parts of my body to keep them under subjection to You. I have new strategies available to me. I bridle my tongue. I make sure my feet don’t carry me to places You don’t want me to go. I prevent my eyes from looking at things that don’t glorify You. I am sitting and meditating on this word. I have to keep my whole body, not just my mind and my heart. I will keep my hands, and they will not be swift to do work that tears down the Kingdom. Thank You for bringing me to the place where I can allow You to arrest me, when my members have run amuck. I want to live under Your control…
