Thessalonians 3:8

July 11

1 Thessalonians 3:8 Your strong standing in the Lord gives us such zest for life. (TMB)

Is your excitement for your life in Christ evident?

When you talk about your salvation experience, do you get excited all over again? Is the smile on your face bigger than you can contain? Do you run to serve? Do you answer questions before a person can ask them? Do you give your testimony ever chance you get? The Psalmist had one way of sharing it.

Psalm 34: 1-3 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. (KJV)

We also used to sing a song in church. Here are the lyrics:

When I think of His goodness, and what He’s done for me. When I think of His goodness, and how He set me free, I can dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, all night long. We would exchange the word dance for praise, sing, shout, spin, etc.

Thinking of who God is and what He has done should cause an abundance of joyous emotions to overflow. You should celebrate and have an enthusiasm for your life in Christ.

1 Peter 1:8 You love him passionately although you have not seen him, but through believing in him you are saturated with an ecstatic joy, indescribably sublime and immersed in glory. (TPT)

Your excitement should show in how you live your life and be encouragement believers and non-believers alike.

Please agree with me as I pray. Then ask the Lord what your prayer should be and wait for His response:

Father, when I think about Your mercy, Your goodness, Your blessings, and Your favor towards me; I am overwhelmed and excited. I want the excitement I feel to be like the clothes I wear. Please forgive me for showing my excitement sometime, when I should show it all the time. I want to show Your glory when people see me; when they talk to me; and when they watch how I deal with situations. I want Your love to shine through me as evidence and acknowledgment of Your existence in this world and in my life. I want to show my gratitude, in the way I live, for all You have done, all that You are doing and all You will do. My appreciation comes from the things I know about You and what You’ve done for me. I could fill a library with the things You have done for me, I know nothing about; You know, and I am grateful for those as well. You designed and ordained my life. I want to live every day like a student waiting for graduation: excited and grateful
