Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (KJV)
As a member of the United States military, the potential for lengthy deployments is a constant reality. A deployment is never easy, but proper preparation helps minimize stress and anxiety. As with any life-changing event, the more prepared a service member is, the better he/she will deal with the adjustments and cope with the change. By becoming educated about what to expect during deployment, service members handle the challenges as they occur.
You have spent the last five months preparing for war. You prepared yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for all elements of service. You learned how to fine tune your skills. You learned about the spiritual gifts and how they work to help you fight. You trained to become a qualified and experienced soldier. The Lord has shown you how to be equipped for any and everything the devil would throw at you. Are you ready for war?
The month of July help you say with confidence, “I am ready for war.” You have the tools and training; you are now prepared and available for service. One of the devil’s best tactics is to get you to think you are at peace when you are really at war. You cannot let down your guard. When tempted, Jesus used The Word to defeat satan. The devil will tempt you as well you. You cannot just read the Bible; you have to know it and apply it to your life. Your relationship with God keeps you ready for war. You need His power, His strength and His might; you cannot do it on our own. The enemy’s job is to attack you. He will come against the good, holy and noble gifts God has given you. Your job is to be ready to resist him, so he will flee.
