Engaged

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (KJV)

The Department of Defense determines readiness before sending a soldier into battle. First, they build initial readiness by providing initial training and testing in order for the soldiers to progress to advanced training. Next, they increase the soldier’s readiness by providing advanced individual training, unit training, and testing in order to qualify the soldier to deploy with their operational units. When they deem the soldier ready, the call to battle, the order to go to war issues from the Commander and Chief. This is the chant of the ready soldier:

Let me hear your Battle Cry
We’re Soldiers Trained and Ready, Ready for war
From down low to way up high
For this country I’ll give my life
We’re Soldiers Trained and Ready, Ready for war
Now we get up, so early in the morning.
We lace up our boots, while you are still snoring.
C-130 rolling down the flight line.
I got a pack on my back, and I’m listening for the call sign
The green light glows and I dash into the midnight
I hit the ground running, looking for a fire fight
My Battles and I are fighting with the enemy
We’re trained and ready to fight for the victor

The month of September deals with engagement. The Father chose you, trained you, placed you on assignment, and facilitated your reconnaissance of the enemy. He has given the call to order; it is time to engage. It is time to use the weapons, training, and resources He gave you. When you are engaged:

  1. Fear does not immobilize or paralyze you.
  2. You don’t yield to temptations.
  3. You don’t allow the cares of life to hinder you.
  4. You have closed the doors the devil used to walk through.
  5. Your head is clear of any confusion.
  6. You do not hide.
  7. You have an increase in love for others.
  8. You serve the Father with all of your mind, body, and spirit.
  9. You stand when you used to flee.
